the first time i saw someone beat this game i really liked how the game transitions from the death of the final boss straight to the ending credit roll without a change in screen
So sad... i remember getting the game on NES after playing this in the arcade. My god i was so disappointed that night. I never did get to beat this damn game.

As nice as this game was, they couldn't put it in a compilation -- it was based on another company's intellectual property that was used under license. But now that The Walt Disney Company owns the rights to Willow, I wonder if we won't see this game again somewhere.

It was more of a self fulfilling prophecy, the hunt for the baby started the chain of events that ended with her defeat.

what a really disappointing ending! I spent hundreds of quarters on this damn game when it first came out (i was like 10) and could never make it past where you fight the 2 headed dragon. Im glad I never spent EVEN MORE quarter s to beat it, i would have been soooo crestfallen. Other than the ending it is a superb and extremely fun game to play......i highly recommend!
Funny, because the music in this game was done by the same guy who did the music for Mega Man 2, and the NES version, which is a completely different game was directed by Akira Kitamura, who also directed Mega Man 1 and 2.

The music in this game was done by the same guy who did the music in Mega Man 2 and LED Storm. The music in Little Nemo on NES was done by Junko Tamiya, who did the music for the NES version of Bionic Commando, and the arcade version of Strider.
Nice playing, too bad this game had the "Willow" name, because the movie was a flop, it probably turned off most arcade owners from purchasing it. I was into arcade games at the time, and I only saw this game in one location (a pizza shop). Too bad, because the gameplay and art were well above average.
looks pretty good for a game that came out in 1989. The Brownies are even is the game. Before my time, but I'd have played it if this was the WIllow ported to the NES instead of the horrid piece of shit they put out. It looked like a bad Zelda clone, with nothing to do with the movie.

There are plenty of barcades around today, you might want to check your area if you live in or near a city.
