Hi Glen, I have no doubt he did the lap time, however official lap records only count during sessions where tech is enforced to ensure a more level playing field (qualifying or races). At the time of posting this was faster than the previous official lap record according to MyLaps data. The lap record has since been broken, although on different tires as the series switched for this year.
Wei Lu was on different tires - much softer Dunlop slicks. Scott's lap in on spec Hankooks, which are about 2s per lap slower, but last much longer and don't flatspot nearly as easily.
