Awesome work! Your custom panels look really good! The RWB of miatas
Thanks! The goal was to make a poor mans RWB so I guess it worked
This is actually really good production quality idk how you don’t have more subs gonna send to all my friends
Cheers mate. It is my first video so even the subs I do have are pretty surprising to me.

Not a single word was said and this was very informative and most importantly entertaining as well! Great job I loved the video!
Love the edit of the video and the miata looks hella good !
This wide body is rad, cool, sick, whatever, but at 77+ it gets me riled up and I like it so damned much. Mazda should have an option, wheels and all!

Great build and I subscribed
Looking at getting an mx5 my self, for a project car! Seeing as this kits nz made I might have to get it
Definitely one of the best project cars you can get. I'll look forward to seeing this kit on yours one day.
That sat really nice pre widebody. Do you remember the wheel setup?
Q: How wide do you want your miata to be ?
A: Yes
Amazing work sir 👌 can't stop repeating the video. It's invigorated me to place an order for your amazing kit which is way better than anything I've seen on offer in the UK currently!
One question if I may?
What size wheels and spacers did you use both front and back, as I'd like to see if I can get those over here in the UK before ordering your kit.
I'm definitely hooked to your channel sir 👏
Thank you.
I designed this kit to work with 15x10 et-50 wheels both front and rear but on this build I am using Japan Racing JR19s 16x9 et-25s with 25mm spacers. I order all my wheels through Driftworks who are a UK Company and you can order the JR19s from their site in 15x10.5 et-32 which is the perfect size for this kit.
If you've sent me an email and haven't got anything back please check your spam folder, Google has been giving me some trouble lately.
Thank you so much for getting back to me so quickly. You a true gent sir🤝.
I'm in the process of negotiating a 1995 mx5 just so that I can install your kit on it. Having the cars structural integrity assessed at the moment.
I absolutely love what you have done here and I'm planning to add some Duce side skirts too ☺️ I hope you don't mind.
I will be in touch soon as I'm ready to order my kit from you.
Amazing vision you have sir, and you are a true artisan in this field of creativity
Great channel YOU ARE DOING MY DREAM KEEP GOING
You should do a video on painting it!
Running into this video 2 yrs later lol. But what screws were you using to install the body kit onto the car?
Just a quick note: If you'd like, you can hit the CC button to get captions of what's happening in the video!
Also thought I should point out that when fitting a widebody kit to a vehicle that sees a lot of use, well nuts and stainless bolts are the ideal method. The screws that I've used in this video are just to get the kit mounted prior to paint. I'll be covering the final mounting of the kit in a later video.
Great vid
What are your wheel specs (and space specs)
@@rh2racing On this car I'm running 16x9 et-25 with 25mm bolt on adapters.
Ideally I would have like to go wider like 15x10.5 or 15x11 but at that width you cant get any legal tyre options in New Zealand.
What is the cost of the kit
@@adamstacharowski5231 If you're interested, you can find my email on my channel. I'm working on getting my website back up soon as well. Price of the kit is $1450 NZD
👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Imma be your 100 sub, so give me a present when ya hit 100k lmao
I love your optimism haha! If I ever get that silver play button hit me up
I gotta see this thing in motion please!
Love the shots, and the miata is looking great, I would love to see a voice over in the video or at least captions of what you're doing. And what parts you're using.
Thank you! If you click on the CC button I have included some captions that go over what I'm doing in various steps. In the future I might make a pop up at the start of the video letting people know.
I prefer to leave out the dialogue as I feel like nobody really wants to listen to me talk for half the video. Still very early on so I may change it up for the next build.
@@TofuAutoWorks okay awesome, keep up the great work. I can't wait to see your next video, I've got a NA miata too so I'm getting a good bit of inspiration from this video. I was thinking about this body kit you're using along with a ccp fastback hardtop.
@@TwoHandStan these flares are made by our man here.
Your kit looks insane bro are they available to buy?
Cheers bro! All kits are handmade here in New Zealand and I ship them worldwide. You can find my email on my channel
@@TofuAutoWorks Sweet, its good that there's a New Zealander making these for once an great looking ones aswell. Will definitely grab one when I've got the money haha. Will get to sharing this video hopefully get you some more subs 🤙
Looks a bit like Bosozu fenders🤙🏼
My next build will be Bosozoku styled so it probably had an influence on the design. 👍
Why don't you guys give a link to where you got the body kit. Most channels never do that.
You're right that's actually a really good point. It's pinned in the top comment but I didn't actually put our website link anywhere. This kit is our original Tofu Auto Works +100mm Widebody kit. It's available on www.tofuautoworks.com.
I'll add it to the video description and the top comment
What dolly is that?
Nothing too flash mate, just some standard cheap vehicle positioning jacks. Same as what you'd find at Supercheap Auto or any car parts store really.
They've come in incredibly handy with all these lowered cars.
@@TofuAutoWorks i've never seen that before, thank you
Hi loving the car I’m currently 16 years old living in the uk wanting to buy a miata as a project car I just wanted to know where you got the wide body kit from
Hi. I've just pinned a comment saying where you can ask about the kit. For international enquiries please email me at tofuautoworks@gmail.com
Question, so I’m thinking of being a mechanic to learn more about cars, and for the money, and also thinking of getting a welding certification. Is that a good way to go to start working on my own cars?
Absolutely. Knowing how to service and look after your own car as well as weld and repair it are some of the best skills you can learn.
My experience is in panel and paint, working a few years in a body shop taught me more in that short period than 10 years on my own. Spend as much time with the pros as you can and soak it all in like a sponge.
Why didnt you paint it before installing ?
kann mir jemand mit Ahnung sagen ob ich das auch in Deutschland Benutzen dürfte weil es hier ja ziemlich streng gehandhabt wirt
WHERE DO I BUY THIS KIT! PLEASE ATTACH A LINK! I tried looking on google for anything and couldn’t find where to buy it except for the price
I haven't been able to find a company to stock it for me so at the moment I'm just selling it myself. You can DM me through Instagram @tofuautoworks or send an email to tofuautoworks@gmail.com. Cheers!
good ;)
What wing mirrors are they? I love them!
They came with the car so I'm not sure sorry, but they look like they are universal so an auto parts store might have them.
This is pretty cool! What is it made out of?
The flares and lip are made from fiberglass.
We've recently started rocking a grey sanding gelcoat on all our parts as well. It's a little easier to work with that the more common white gelcoats. Makes it a little nicer for the owner.
Is there a link so I can buy one ?
I'm working on my website at the moment, but if you send an email to me at tofuautoworks@gmail.com I can ship them from New Zealand to almost anywhere in the world.
(Sorry, my previous reply was my non-business account and I didn't realize.)
What about the side skirts?😭
Patente chilena
Bro what is the model of the car?
That’s a wide boi
How long till the next video
It's being edited as we speak. Just been super busy with other things that have had to take priority.
I plan to shift my focus to getting these videos up more regularly.
I like ur wheels, whats they're name
Japan Racing JR19 in 16x9 et-25.
Wheres the kit from?
It's our original Tofu Auto Works Mx5 Widebody kit. Design and build of the kit can be found here:

What kit is this?
The flares in this video are our own custom +100mm flares which we ship worldwide. Enquieries welcome through email tofuautoworks@gmail.com or through Instagram @tofuautoworks
How much to get my hands on a kit like this?😂
The kit is $979.69 USD and I ship them worldwide. There's a link to our online store in the pinned comment on this video and in the description. Cheers mate.
@@TofuAutoWorks Preciate it so much:)
How much was that kit ?
Please check the link to the website in my pinned comment under this video.
What kit is this
It's my original +100mm widebody kit. I ship them worldwide, my email is on my page for enquiries.
nice :) where you at ? Nz ?
Cheers. Yeah, operating out of Northland, NZ.
what spacers do u use for the wheels
25mm hub-centric bolt on adapters. Most brands will be the same as long as you aim for good quality. No need for the best of the best, just make sure not to get the cheapest ones.
@@TofuAutoWorks thank you
Speedruning this?
The build is currently sitting in primer ready for paint. I've got a couple videos worth of footage just sitting waiting for free time to edit.
Though this one is definitely coming together faster than the Cyberpunk themed one I built before it.
Hope this turns out OK, or Barbies gonna be pissed!
Mod to fit a cobalt SS?
The body shapes are pretty different and this one was designed heavily to work with the existing lines of the Mx5. I reckon the best bet would be to make a custom kit designed for the SS from the start.
@@TofuAutoWorks thanks man would love if they had something built like this, if I was to design one I’d like something like this.
WHERE DO I BUY THIS WIDE BODY KIT
I sell this kit world wide. You can find my contact in the "About" tab on my channel.
