Definitely a positive for the UK! Not the biggest fan of the whistle chorus as it feels slightly dated, but if they're able to pull off the great choreography on stage during that part I think it has great potential to do well. Also their voices are super fab!
Really pleased with our entry - again. Was kinda expecting something in a similar vein to LMH, but was pleasantly surprised by this. As you say, this will stand out a mile. Would like a 'wow' moment, but maybe they'll do like they did with Sam Ryder and switch up the end of the song, or do something visually.
Great song! Great choreography! Great message! Beautiful outfits! Overall very polished, unique and British! The girls are so cool and charismatic! Top 3!!!
The whistle part and the I can't help it I just cannot help it part sound a lot like dance by nare but as I loved dance I like this too. Anyway imagine if the UK put half the energy the put in jesc into esc . No more last places 😅
I don't think it's fair to say that effort wasn't put in to Mae's entry. It came last because it fell flat as a live performance not because the delegation weren't trying. Hopefully they've realised that strong live vocals are important for whoever they've got for 2024!
@AlioH89 the fact that you should select a singer that can actually sing is self explanatory if they didn't consider that and simply chose an artist for the heck of it that means they didn't put enough effort into their selection process
First. Absolutely love this one. Obviously a lot of peeps are waiting to see if thr girls can ACTUALLY sing lol, but can't see why we can't do at least do top 3
Such a lovely review! Really wishing the girls all the best in Nice. Personally I love the song and can't believe my home country is genuinely my fave two years in a row for JESC! Love that we're taking it seriously! Whatever happens, the team at BBC need to be super proud of putting this out there. I hope the kids love it, I feel like it's a great TikTok dance, bur regardless I think the UK is showing we're still taking it seriously after a couple of decades very much not lol. Can't wait for Nice!!!
not sure it's a winner but I can see this matching Freya's Top 5 place last year. Also a good sign for the UK at Eurovision going forwards and 2023 will just be a host country blip.
Love this, the dance break is so catchy! I hope they switch up the dance for the final break because I don't want it to feel repetitive but otherwise I have no complaints!
-This gives me, like, a combined vibe of Little Mix and OG3NE (NL 2017); the "attitude" reminds me of Little Mix, while the harmony part feels very OG3NE -Usually, in the Junior Eurovision "world", only the Netherlands are used to producing girl groups: Kisses in 2016, Unity in 2020 and many more who did not win the national selection Junior Songfestival. looks the the UK is indirectly inspired by what the Netherlands have done.
maybe a bit but I've seen more people mention Little Mix as a point of reference, the UK has had loads of successful girl bands nationally and internationally
Hey Tom ... It gives me Little mix vibes absolutely...and then the bridge has Eternal vibes for me. For me the last chorus/drop is lacking for me, it needs something else added, maybe the staging will give us something. Top 5 again if not higher.
First of all, thank you for such a positive reaction - it's lovely to see one of our neighbours hoping we do well! 🇮🇪🇬🇧 I may be biased but I think it's a very solid effort and feel like it could sound even better live, unlike I Wrote a Song which sounded fine in studio but fell flat live. I agree that it's child friendly without being juvenile and think it could appeal to a wide audience. I've heard that Dan Shipton is working on the staging which is a good sign. I'm more assured now that the delegation are serious about getting better results in the adult contest as well. Hopefully they'll apply similar quality control in selecting our act for Malmö! Speaking of which, the recent press release is somewhat ambiguous as it doesn't state whether the search is complete. When asked about the 2024 act on an episode of Eurotrip, Lee Smithurst declined to comment but smirked knowingly, which makes me think he's got something up his sleeve...in any case I hope they reveal the act sooner before the rumours get too out of hand.
I like the song; my main issue is that parts of it (especially the verses) sound rather adult, although it must be said that it's less so than last year's entry which I found way too mature for JESC (apparently I was one of the few people who had a problem with that). Overall it's very catchy and fun.
het nummer is prima, maar heb ook een beetje moeite met de makeup en de nagels enzo, ze hadden net zo goed 18-20 kunnen zijn zoals ik. Wat is er mis met 13 zijn en er ook zo uit zien
not what i was expecting but i am pleasantly surprised! i love that it is a girl group (and their regional accents 🤩) and im really enjoying the song, even the whistle section which is normally something i hate 😅 my one worry is that it feels like more of a grower than an instant yes, but hopefully the staging and choreo we get on the night will compensate for that
I quite enjoy this as a radio track, and it’s a bit of an earworm, but… I’m waiting to see what it’s like live. There’s a LOT of processing on this track and I am not yet sure how that’ll work live. We’ve seen how that doesn’t always work well without the right backing, so if they get it right on stage it could be brilliant. If they don’t, then it’ll be middling. To draw a comparison to Mae - IWAS was a great studio track but very full of production tricks, and TaP/BBC messed up the staging and vocal mixing/backup. This feels like it could go that way but hopefully they’ve learned that lesson.
I wanted to hear the girls live but I've been very disappointed to hear none of their "live" performances are actually live. I'm very worried about whether they can actually sing this song live well. The choreography seems to be a central, focal point too which can definitely affect their singing.
yea it is a little bit concerning. but it could just be that the studios theyve performed in just dont have the necessary acoustics or its not their policy to do live performances. hopefully itll be alright on the night
I'd commented about the vocals previously but they did an actual LIVE performance on Children in Need the other day and they sounded great so I'm eating my words.
Oh no. As a person living in the UK I'm fed up with this type of soulless, over processed pop. Little Mix and other girl bands have been doing this for years and I'm pretty fed up with the same tat being churned out. Another thing, they are 12 and 13, so why the need to make them look so much older.

If you listen closely you can hear the similarities in the beginning whistle of dance and the uh uh uh part😅

So proud of the uk is serving little mix vibes ❤️🇬🇧 vote for the uk ❤️

They all participated on The Voice UK (Kids).
i wouldnt be too worried about their vocals, it doesnt seem a very technically difficult song to sing imo
@jess6064 Ah OK. Won't worry about their vocals then

The UK wasn’t inspired by the Netherlands at all.
@@jess6064 that is why I said "indirectly". even though the genre is different, the concept is still similar enough.
@@a.m.rifkia.3rd493 Mentioning Netherlands at all is irrelevant because they were not directly or indirectly inspired by them.

Vocals seem to rely heavily on the studio processing, which doesn't fill me with confidence about the live performance.

big early sugababes vibes imo
Ooooooooo yes very much sugababes !!!
the chorus feels quite flat, but I trust the BBC. Hope they do well :)
