Montebello Bus Lines 1992 TMC RTS-06

Hop aboard Montebello Transit RTS-06 #9296 as it operates on Montebello Route 10 from East L.A College to Whittwood Mall in Central Montebello. The story behind this ride coined the phrase "Patience is Vitrue".Eager to ride an RTS from any SoCal transit agency, I believed i hit the jackpot seeing 4 RTSs on Route 10. However, when it was time for me to ride the line, 4 back to back Gillig Advantages arrived. Just when I was going to give up, 9296appears. That bus was a Series 50EGR and an Allison V-731 ATEC Transmission.

A repower unit too??.........Just like the ones nyc had. They repowered theirs in 2001/2002. Formerly 6V92 engines.
All gone today.........oh wait, we still have like one left. It's a Metrocard bus😁

Nice recording. These RTSs were refurbished by CCW and recieved some of the early DD50EGR engines. With the arrival of the NewFlyers, these wont be on the road for much longer. Best time to catch one is on the weekday.

Wow, you recorded this when Line 10 was on a detour while the college next to it was under construction (at the time) for a Transit Center that is now complete. :)
