I have been really excited to see this coming to market and it checks almost every box I am looking for in a trailer.... other than price. 😢 I really don't understand how people afford the price point of many of these trailers, especially living in SoCal where home prices start closer to the $1M price range. Really had my hopes up but sadly another trailer outside of reach...
Arkto G12 and Teton X offer more for the money. I was really looking forward to this being less money than something that is loaded beyond what I need. Unfortunately the value is not there at all.
Pretty cool trailer....about choked on my coffee when I learned the price! About 4x the cost I was expecting. You seem to have a nice product but I'm not really sure who can actually afford it.
Ya, not everyone can afford this type of trailer. You could always consider a Runaway Venturist for about $12,000. Or a Hiker for about the same, neither has the popup. Both great trailers, but not in the same league. Trailers like this, and Patriot Trailers are pricey, but you really do get what you pay for. Good luck in your search!!!!
I would want the top to be a pop top on both sides (front and back), I would want the fridge outside or racked out. You guys make great products but you’re priced way above your competitors and offering less for the money. Can’t wait to compare it in person!
Just tow a small camper that has a shower toilet ainside for 15k add a battery and inverter and solar for 5k more add some off road tires and there you go
Very well thought-out trailer. Way out of my financial league, of course, but unlike the peanut gallery, I fully understand there IS a market for high-end, super-high-capable off-road rigs like this. THAT is who this is for. Love seeing all the design choices and solutions. And getting that at 2595 pounds is a huge achievement! But, yes, I do hope you follow this up with a “lite” version - much of this build would appeal to folks minus things like the air suspension, the ecoflow power system, etc. But one thing at a time … :)
How about a standard axle or a torsion axel version with standard road height clearance highway tires, and standard ball coupler. Also I would prefer running water outside in the pullout, the sink inside is ridiculous. I would put a bench across the front that pulls down to a double with a bunk above. Pull out fridge in the front corner. The cabinet then could be moved to the center on the back wall and brought up to the height of the side walls. Just some thoughts, I have other ideas as well.
Not as many as you think epically in the tear / square drop category. In the last 6 years or so with all of these small trailer manufactures popping up, the shift is towards off road, epically with axleless axles on the market for small trailers. The ones you find are typical hwy ones are queen mattress inside cupboards over head and foot. I had one for 6 years loved it, but developed a list for things that could be better, but the family out grew it. I have tried tent trailers, and full-size behemoths, I still want to go back to the small fit in the garage, ready to roll at all times, very little setup camper. the bean squared is one of a kind, for layout that seems to fit all or most of my needs and thoughts on a perfect trailer. I would prefer to spend 20 to 30k less by deleting the overkill battery systems, the off road axels, and the adjustable air ride suspension. And it definitely doesn’t bigger tires and higher ground clearance than my tow vehicle, a full size 1/2 ton 2wd riding on oem sized tires. Which my original camper had 10” ground clearance same truck and only occasionally would I hit the drop receiver because I was using a generic adjustable one with more of a drop then I needed. I wasn’t rock crawling or mud bogging yet I got long ways in the back country, 10 to 15 miles on dirt.
@@mark-di5pfDo you know if it could be modified by putting on low profile tires or “shop” wheels/tires to get it to 7 feet at home? If Bean offered a way to customers to get this is a 7 foot garage I think that will open up some market. Tons of us out there that have no desire to store a trailer like this offsite.
I already have all my camping gear. I'd pay $35-$45k for a "base/budget" model. Although nor sure this could make it to the places I go. Bean needs to do a video taking it through trails rated 3 or 4. Then I can see if its really an offroad trailer...and not just "Dirt road" trailer
Very cool camper trailer. In the future I would hope you guys can seek a way to introduce a shower for the inside with a drain port almost just like AntiShanty campers. I also have to agree with the other comments that the price may be too much for many yet let's hope that our economy can improve for the next few years and see what happens. Overall a very nice camper trailer.
Discada - Spanish word for cooking in an agricultural disk. It is the Southwest's version of cooking in an agricultural plow disc that yields spectacular flavors.
It amazes me to see the number of comments about cost and affordability. People really have limited knowledge of what it takes for R&D, product iteration, production readiness, manufacturing and logistics. Not surprised though. We’ve become a nation of passive consumers who have less and less personal experience as makers and small business owners.
Thanks for sharing your insights Jim! You are absolutely correct. We are also a nation of consumers who buy cheap manufactured products from overseas too. Bean is manufactured in the U.S with the highest quality materials and components.
Yes indeed the R@D goes into making a camper is remarkable, very few countries have this technology. You are further correct we have become a nation of passive consumers instead of active consumers :)
There are many overpriced products that are easily justified based on R&D, overhead and unit costs. That doesn't make the resulting price a competitive market price. I'm thinking of how I would use this trailer compared to many trailers costing under half the project price of these, and I honestly can't see hoe this extra $40K+ benefits me while camping. I can just see a new owner sipping their coffee and thinking to themselves "I'm sure glad I invested in covering Mr. Bean's R&D investment".
Nice design...but a one year structual warranty is a real cop out. Heck, my 20 year old Toyota still has a frame warranty due to rust issues that they owned up to.
All of these comments slamming the price point aren't taking quality, customer service, and thoughtfulness of design into consideration. I'd rather take longer saving up for the bean squared than purchase something cheaper that's cheaper for a reason.
The side glass windows are useless and a potential security/damage risk. I permanently blocked my windows with insulation and wish I never got windows. 10 years of camping and I've never used my awning.
You are crazy. The awning was the best thing we added to our trailer. Maybe it’s where you live . Essential for Southern California especially in the desert.
@@Drohead20 I primarily camp in the mountains, low temps, high elevation. I only camp in the desert in the coldest months, I enjoy the sun when it's cold.
It is much more difficult to build a quality trailer that is affordable than it is to build a quality trailer that costs a fortune. Just ask any auto manufacturer. This trailer is a joke at that price.
I understand that the bean stock is the trailer for the budget constrained but as someone who followed the development of squared and gave input on what features and price point should be this is not it. At least offer a stripped down version for people who are comfortable sourcing their own accessories. Also cloud suspension is an expensive gimmick in a trailer this small and light.
You all must be out of your mind, with that price.. I truly feel that all these builders are just trying to take money from all out pockets because its becoming more popular. Not only is this very over priced there are builders for half the cost just as good with more options... The pricing is getting out of control and until people stop buying overpriced items it will never stop.
Industry has been in decline for the last two years so not sure how the price has anything to do with 'popularity' for the product set. It is just very expensive to build these types of trailers with this capacity and capability. That why similar ones are in the same price range.
Google “Discada Portable Height Adjustable Burner”; it’s a pricey high power single burner device. Typically bought with their wok or disk (which works like a griddle).
It is a disc shaped (flattened wok) pan, hence the name Discada, which is versatile and can be used for many cooking purposes. It usually hooks up to propane source. = DISCADA

Most people still borrow money and make payments and stay slave to the banks.
