Having only been in Bangkok before it is noticeable that it is a good deal less expensive across the board in Pattaya, the other strange thing I hadn't considered was because there is so much more to Bangkok you can walk around it all day without catching any sun...unless you go out of your way to do so, not so Pattaya!!!
Bangkok food is much much cheaper than pattaya(local Thai food, not sure about high end restaurants). Hotels are a bit less in pattaya but that might be about it. Foot Massages in Bangkok 150 baht, they 250-300 in pattaya.
