He died today 2 years ago. Time flys by fast. He was in the Military since 1950 til 1998. He would love telling me the stories when he was in Vietnam, the Cold War, The Korean war. He was a true hero.
Brother Spencer he,s in your heart as well as your spirit you can remember him also in the many many many memories you have of him he sounds like a true hero who fought hellish battles just to let you know he,s been through something life is truly enough a great battle to fight but you win by listening and learn ing from what he,s been through because of it sorry for your loss because I my have a great deal of family members along the way your never ever along kiddo.

@paratrooper321fa Negative. The Marines and Navy where the primary combat force in the Pacific theater. The Army and Air force had the European theater to themselves. The army and Air force did take part in the Pacific but did not do as much as the Marines and Navy.

the causualties was from Military deaths from the DOD listed from the death toll of thePacific theater HIstorical fact not the propaganda from the USMC. The US Army fought alongside the Marines on several Islands as well as several others on their own.
Do not get it twisted to think that I am saying one branch did all of the fighting merely a correction on the status of the US Army in the Pacific being reconized

Vietnam was a cluster-fuck. We won every single battle we fought, and in reality if you look at the statistics the percentage of men we lost compared to what we sent over really wasn't as high as it seemed with all the protesting. We could have won this war in a month, only problem was we were on Mutual Defense of South Vietnam. So we couldn't attack in the North. Hard to win a war where you can't attack.

excaclty we had already won every major battle in vietnam. and right after the tet offeinsive, which pretty much killsd the viet congs ability to operate in the south, we were pulled out not pressing the attack.
