'Suffering Jukebox' was the first song I heard from them. Heard it on the radio, when I woke up at around 4am, having slept with the radio on. I had to Shazam it. Still my favourite since then. Greetings from Uruguay

It’s a great track! It’s so hard picking tracks for these videos, so many to choose from haha. And thank you!

They woke up in their nightmare world, craving mediocrity - they said
"We're coming outta the black patch!
    We're coming outta the pocket!"

Excellent video, I would recommend anyone checking out Silver Jews to also listen to the Purple Mountains album (every song is great on it but my favorites on it would be "All My Happiness is Gone" and "Storyline Fever"). Sadly it was Berman's last project before he passed. RIP David Berman

Purple Mountains was such an amazing project. Obviously I was incredibly upset about DCB’s passing, but I was also super bummed that I was supposed to see Purple Mountains perform about 2 weeks after his death. DCB forever

You're right, but it's such a sad listen, almost like a suicide note put to music. Although there are still moments of humour, some of his best lyrics.

Awesome video! Did Silver Jews or Pavement form first? I know they both formed in 1989.
    Also, a ranking!
    Silver Jews
    1. American Water (1998)
    2. The Natural Bridge (1996)
    3. Lookout Mountain, Lookout Sea (2008)
    4. Tanglewood Numbers (2005)
    5. Starlite Walker (1994)
    6. Bright Light (2001)
Neither Pavement or Silver Jews had a bad or even mediocre album!

I’ll be completely honest, I’m not certain on which came first. Part of me thinks that it was some iteration of Silver Jews, but I could be completely wrong on that. Thanks for the support!

@@ForeverSpinning Yeah, I heard a reviewer of Pavement’s first EP, Slay Tracks say that Bob Nastanovish was, while recording the EP, Malkmus’ “fellow Silver Jews bandmate”.

Now disbanded indie band Lvl Up...especially their "Return to Home" album is obviously influenced by this band. You should check them out if you haven't already.

I just checked out that album and you are completely right. The first track had me thinking I was listening to In The Aeroplane Over The Sea cover too lol. Thanks for the recommendation!
