I'm a black woman, and I didn't see any disrespect towards her during the interview. Amanda needs to reflect on how she treats others and stop looking for imaginary wrongs she thinks is being done to her.
I think Amanda either has mental issues or is doing this for attention. Shannon did nothing but let this woman drone on for three hours without interruption and he also defended her when needed. It went left towards the beginning when he actively sought to invalidate HER experience. He didn't listen from a stance of trying to understand her, but instead from the position of trying to poke holes in most, if not all, of what she said. It went downhill from there. Imo

It seems she invited the hug to show she warmed up to Shannon and felt "safe". Yet, went on to immediately drag him and criticize him after the interview aired. Stating she didn't feel safe so her asking for a hug isn't congruent with her post interview behaviour. As well, she asked for the hug after the discussion about her experience with Floetry. She had mentioned she seen Marsha at an award show and Marsha asked Amanda for a hug. Amanda mentioned she rejected the hug and doesn't hug anyone that's not her "people". She also said in the interview that she's literal and mentioned that's partly why people don't like her. Yet, her asking for the hug doesn't align with how she interpreted the interview. It's one thing to sit through an interview and force yourself to be diplomatic and polite so you don't respond in an unfavourable way. Yet, it's quite another thing to interject, almost half way through the interview (especially after the contentious moments), and ask for a hug after mentioning you're not a hugger and implying you only hug those you consider your "people ". I can't say she's intentionally difficult or manipulative. Idk...yet, she definitely has a difficult personality. Which I'd unfortunate because she's so gifted and clearly would be great on a team (if she didn't have so many social blind spots).

I did not see Shannon Sharpe being disrespectful to her matter fact I saw him being a gentleman and very patient with her because she’s kind of interesting and I am a mother I’m 51 almost 52 years old. I’m I’ve been. I know some stuff and I know that his demeanor with her was very, sweet and loving and I don’t know what she’s talking about as a woman as a mother of a daughter.
