I saw her last night in Jacksonville Florida!! Met her,got my picture taken with her and got her autograph!! She was mesmerizin in concert. By far the best 2 hours of my life!! Flawless performance!!
I really love how she seamlessly weaves the apoyando strokes into such a quick piece. When I lay into rest strokes like that to emphasize a melody, I often lag in rhythm. I humbly bow towards this beautiful sorcoress, Give me your powers woman!
I love her! Very sensitive and yet has strength of tone when it's required. Right now I'm studying while listening to this piece and it's kind of soothing. Helps me keep focused. Thanks, Ana!
She is wonderful, talented and aboslutely has all the "souls" someone has blamed she hasn't. I ask the stupid, blind and deaf people (in the bad sense of the words, of course) that go to other works and performances of Ana Vidovic. Ah, besides and apart of her well known talent, she is beautiful...From Brazil, an Ana Vidovic addicted, JAL
Ana is simply amazing. lightning fast fingers hitting very difficult chords with grace and ease. she is a master guitarist and as beautiful as the music she plays.
Felicidades.
Absolutely wonderful. Obviously I would not change this performance for Pepe Romero's version, but besides her excellent she is a dazzling princess. Superbe madmoiselle!
Bravo...bravoooooo , Oh My God .You are really Wonderful . An amazing ,tremendous .very beautiful . . .God Bless you .It,s Fantastic Hard Word .Love you .* * * * * * * * *
I met Sharon Isbin before a recital that she performed in New Orleans in the early 80's.She stayed a day or two in the home of a friend of mine and exhibited a phenominal ability to read and play music off the page without seeing it previously. She is, without a doubt, one of the world's greatest guitarists....I simply prefer Ana Vidovic...."It is the nature of opinions to vary"....(Sharon occasionally takes a peek at the fretboard.)...Thanks anyhow for the suggestion;)
At 6:22 Segovia played a very fast, clear and loud harmonic on the 12th fret that I didn´t hear so clearly here. Anyway it´s a great interpretation. Far better than I could achieve. My respect.
I love playing Fernando Sor.He has written some very easy study peices(which is where I am skill wise)and he has written some very technically challenging peices.
Thia is a famous work of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, called "Variations on a theme of Mozart", extract from an opera: " La flute enchantee", transcription for guitar by Fernado Sor. Also played by Maestro Andre Segovia, John Williams. Iyt has many high speed, hard technic but many lovely sounds!! I like it the best!
@khasab Well said. As a guitarist, I read these comments and laugh. It's clear that they know nothing at all about phrasing, dynamics, musicianship, or technical ability. Comments like "...they missed a note...", or "...they played it too fast..." make them look like fools. The worst of all, none of them are classical guitarists, let alone musicians. How can anyone who does not play offer criticism to a performer? It is the height of absurdity, exceeded only by the lack of maturity.
@Leonmitch there is no doubt that she's a tremendous player and performer, but it's not about how much of a "genius" or how talented you are, it's about how much time and dedication you put into the instrument. Obviously, she' s put a huge amount of both.
Ana, try turning the lights out and playing without staring at your fingers, feel the music differently, your playing would be even more natural. Love the playing.
Absolutely right. This is why it's pretty nonsense to be "proud" of all illustrious people of one's own country, because we dont have ANY part in their greatness.
I agree that she is a universal treasure, but Croatia is a great place for talent of all sorts! John Malkovich was from Croatia. Scott Bakula too - Ziggy said so. Fred Couples, the world-class golfer, was from Croatian. So was Denies Richards! Now, granted, none of the above were BORN in Croatia . . . but they all had great, great grandparents that were . . . so we can let the Croats have Ana, I think. She alone is enough to compensate for all the other talents Croatia lost to the US, I think.
@Psynthesized Xuefei Yang is Chinese....Both need a foot rest when they play, right? Sometimes someone must sacrifice themselves for the beautiful music both these masters produce! :-))
tends to be attitudes those that don't know any better take towards something they can't understand. Makes them feel better about only knowing a few chords and scales they desperately cling to (using a pick, which anybody can do) while still calling themselves "guitarist", or better yet "musicians".
People always say a player whom has great technical ability has no soul... lets face it... music is full of egos and snobbery... all the arts are like that... the fact is that she is good in her own right... due to the fact that guitar is the hardest instrument to master and technically difficult... soul does take some time to add after you have completed the very difficult task of the technical aspect...
i hope your comments were not related to race, color or creed. a truly talented performer, who will learn for the rest of her life. this is her fate and she will live it every day. please give her some slack. too soon it's over.
@baelzinga The only correct way to play a piece is the way you desire to play it--not the way someone else (including its composer) desires that you play it. I would never play something exactly as it's written, partly because I have no interest in expressing someone else's personality to the world, and partly because I've never heard a tune I didn't think I could improve upon.
@khasab I agree, classical music is suppose to be very precise, controlled and conveying an emotion or feeling, let me know when you go stoning, i'll go with you
@khasab "Yeah, I thought it was so-so. ...My complaint? Well, for example, all the eighth notes were really close to the same duration. How about some VARIETY? Stop trying to box everything in with numbers. ...What? Practice? No, I don't practice, I FEEL the music."
How one can presume to make informed comments with this sound quality, I don't know. Those being snotty should listen to her interpretations of 'Castles of Spain.'
I saw her last night in Jacksonville Florida!! Met her,got my picture taken with her and got her autograph!! She was mesmerizin in concert. By far the best 2 hours of my life!! Flawless performance!!
Ana Vidobvic... I love you!!! And I mean that in the most innocent way...... you are so gifted and bring such joy!!!!
Always a treat to hear her play. I never tire of her musical taste along side her impecable technique. One of the greats.
I really love how she seamlessly weaves the apoyando strokes into such a quick piece. When I lay into rest strokes like that to emphasize a melody, I often lag in rhythm. I humbly bow towards this beautiful sorcoress, Give me your powers woman!
She is a amazing and beautiful performer. Her music bring peace and calm to the wise who will listen. Thank you for the music and the video.
One of the best interpretations of this beautiful piece by F.Sor.
Simply brilliant!
I love her! Very sensitive and yet has strength of tone when it's required. Right now I'm studying while listening to this piece and it's kind of soothing. Helps me keep focused.
Thanks, Ana!

You certainly deserve to be on that stage. Very lovely even with the recording problem of the sound. Thanks for posting it.
You are such a gifted classical guitarist, Ana. You played this piece the way it is supposed to play.
Gitara i ljepotica.... hrvatska kraljica gitare.

Some people are a present from God...You Anita, are one!
That is some truly masterful playing!
Her playing is absolutely delightful. Very, very musical. Good intro to Fernando Sor who is little known as a composer outside guitar circles.
@Psynthesized That's OK, I love them BOTH! They are truly angels of Classical Guitar, and have brought soooooo much joy into the world!
REV 18
Sweet dude! You almost got the upskirt shot. Man she's an amazing player!
Beautiful piece Ana is awesome

Loved it. Great to see how girls are playing so well. This used to be a boys' club.

Every country has talented people
mostruoso! awesome!tocas hermoso! wanderfull! Meraviglioso!

Virtuosa, maravillosa, una joya
If I played like that, I would probably die of finger cramps. Hahaha. She's so good!
Ana Vidovic une grande et talantueuse artiste;
@khasab Well said. As a guitarist, I read these comments and laugh. It's clear that they know nothing at all about phrasing, dynamics, musicianship, or technical ability. Dou toda a razão a rufino Sanches.

Oh man she has a nice little flair to that Style Galant of Sor and Mozart that is just edgy and delightful.
I think the intro is the best bit of the piece
CiaU
Hrvatska kraljica gitare
This looks and sounds like a very very difficult piece to play but she managed to do it beautifully.
I wish the audio was even decent. She's VERY talented, very expressive, and lovely tone...
She's a genius!!
The best female classical guitarist on earth
Extraraordinaria guitarrist
I like the sound. Its like listening to a record player.
As for her, shes alright. Sarcasm of course.
I love this Mozart variations by Sor
Ana Rules. Period.
Superb. What nationality is this girl? How old is she and how long has she been playing?
Bad sound but goot video quality. It is a good resource for the one's who need a guide for the left hand. It's more than enough. Good sharing.
Ana, try turning the lights out and playing without staring at your fingers, feel the music differently, your playing would be even more natural. Love the playing.
very beautiful !!!
Even the great Segovia cannot take his eyes off his fingers in this one. I guess it is the piece just does that to you.
Absolutely right. This is why it's pretty nonsense to be "proud" of all illustrious people of one's own country, because we dont have ANY part in their greatness.
I do wish the Capture was better. But I do love her beautiful playing
Lindíssimo! Parabéns!

Why do they often miss the introduction. In my opinion the intro is the best bit, it's incredible.
me encanta como toca esta mujer
me encantaria tocar como ella
uoff! espectacular
Great job with the video footage. You should try and find a soundboard recording of the audio and sync it with your footage- Then would be perfect.
@Psynthesized Xuefei Yang is Chinese....Both need a foot rest when they play, right? Sometimes someone must sacrifice themselves for the beautiful music both these masters produce! :-))

Oh My god, i love her
Beautiful
She is exactly the right performer for Sor and Paganini, I think. So far a virtuoso, above all.

Excelente Guitarrista
@tanner0714 I agree, especially since she plays so masterfully
Astonishing!!!
wonderful..cheverisimo

what is google? how do use it? will it find a wikipedia article about her in less than a second?
what is the name of this piece? does anyone can tell me ? I would like to learn this one :)
She is Croatian, she's been playing since she was 4 or 5
Very good!!!
@khasab I agree, classical music is suppose to be very precise, controlled and conveying an emotion or feeling, let me know when you go stoning, i'll go with you
Awesome!
:-) i LIKE it!
Ok thanks for that. How old is she now?
Yup...Sometimes it's better to look at your fretboard than at the person picking their nose in the front row.
I agree, use the Segovia-invented nail+flesh combo! And too fast.. :(
But still.. I love her! ;D
can somebody tell me what piece this is?
very impressive
that was in roma no?
y creo que gano
I think that Anna Vidovic is the top player in the world(for now). Its a shame the audio portion of this video isso bad.
whats the name of the piece she's playing
Not too fast at all! Sounds great to me...and not so boring as many classical slowhands!
Good performnce.Compliment.
this guitar is like mine, is it a Valdez???
@khasab "Yeah, I thought it was so-so. ...My complaint? Well, for example, all the eighth notes were really close to the same duration. How about some VARIETY? Stop trying to box everything in with numbers. ...What? Practice? No, I don't practice, I FEEL the music."
How one can presume to make informed comments with this sound quality, I don't know. Those being snotty should listen to her interpretations of 'Castles of Spain.'
The sound is horrible, but you can kind of hear that she is brilliant!
Variations on a theme by Mozart (Magic Flute) by Fernando Sor.
I would love to be that guitar.
