1966 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible Restomod
VIN: 194676S109285
The 1963-67 Corvettes in both coupe and convertible form have spawned an entire subsection of the Resto Modding hobby and its supporting aftermarket industry, and rightly so. These cars have reached classic status for their inspired styling and performance, and subsequent generations have each in turn introduced advances in automotive technology and performance. Blending old and new in a well-executed manner can result in a beautiful high-performance machine possessed of classic style.
This 1966 Corvette Sting Ray convertible exactly fits that bill with superb presentation and GM’s modern take on a legendary Corvette engine: the 427 Turbo-Jet. Introduced in 1966, the 427 big-block’s legend lives on to this day. GM has recreated Chevrolet Performance's ZZ427/480 crate engine but with updated components that enhance both drivability and performance. The ZZ427 is built on the newest-generation block casting with 4-bolt main caps, an all-forged rotating assembly, aluminum heads and a hydraulic roller camshaft. The result is greater durability and increased power over a broader RPM range. Augmented with Sanderson headers and side exhaust, backed with a TKO 5-speed transmission, 4.10:1 and posi rear end, the ZZ427 gives this car incredible performance. A Street and Performance serpentine belt system drives the Vintage Air, power steering and electrical systems, and cooling is improved with an aluminum radiator. The presentation is fantastic: deep Torch Red paint with a matching new red leather interior with custom instrumentation, Ididit tilt column and power windows. This two-top Corvette is completed with new chrome and trim, new glass, polished stainless-steel front tubular control arms and performance rubber on Billet Specialties wheels.
If you’re looking for an elegant work of art with no expense spared, look no further.

I wish you guys had more darts in stock :P the car I want for high school.. But the plum crazy challengers are the dream so cool and you guys do great work as well as many of the cars not overpriced.
Love love this car, the way I would build a C2 Corvette if I did. Maybe the only thing I would do is put an original steering wheel and gauges back in. Make the engine more original looking. Stock valve covers, orange engine paint. Love everything else.
This is the ONLY way I'd buy a C2 ... restomods are the way to go, imho.
"Dang" (LOL), what a beautiful build! And the price reflects that!!
When you floored it and went to the gears that took about 10 gallons of fuel but so what it looks good sounds strong I'll take it
What a great car ! Almost flawless, except that the speedo is a bit (!) optimistic....Greg was doing about 45 mph, the speedo was registering around a buck-ten.... (I`d still take it, though :-)
Loved all the "burn marks" on the roads. I wonder who did all those?...LOL...LOL

my uncle could have got one for $600 since its a 1966 and and he lived in 1970 it was only 4 years old but he couldn't get one cause $600 was a lot of money back then
