Since this is the last draft box, it could be cool tk do a retrospective of how many boxes per set...i.e. which set was the best, which sets were the worst, any notable changes of prices from opening weekend to X years later, etc.
If memory serves MH2 went on for like a case or more.
Mysty Boosty and Time Spiral Remastered also went through several boxes. I think it was TSR when he sent out a non signed card to a "signed card" patreon, because he doesn´t needed the value for the next box and a signature would have downgraded the card value. @@nathanwilliams9158

At some point, it would be cool to see a retrospective on booster box games, total cost of boxes, total value of sold cards, some big hits, biggest losers, that kind of stuff.
I think he did once a sort of retrospect on results from the boxes, but it is time for a revisit

I know this set is getting a lot of flack I can’t help but love this set. RtR was my introduction set to magic and I absolutely loved playing Boros and Azorius. It just brings back a lot of memories playing FNM with my standard azorius control deck and opening packs of return, gatecrash and theros with my friends
No need to feel weird about it, more often than not the cards and their nostalgia aren’t the issue but the way corporate greed has packaged them
I love this set too, I just don't love some of the high prices. I think the set itself is actually amazing, but 200+ per box is just too high in my opinion.

Im the same way! Which is why im building a Ravnica cube now instead of paying 35 dollars per week for a draft.

If it was priced appropriately, I think people would be very positive about it. But they priced it way too high for it to make any sense.
I think it‘s important to note, that the final total seen on screen is not the total value of the box since those cards below 2 dollars are not factored in. So on the second box the actual value in cards also certainly was 180$ or higher. It‘s just a more fictive number since those small value cards are not easily resellable.

I love this set, for buying singles.
Was able to buy foil borderless versions of each shock land for roughly half the price I got the non-foils for originally!
Its kinda sad that those and cyclonic rift are the only real value here. A single box is not worth more than $100 IMO.

i’m excited for play boosters so that when i buy boxes to open for fun i can do a fun little draft with my brothers and/or friends and then just kinda have the cards then hopefully put them in decks which i imagine the draft will motivate me to do :3

I didn't realize there were so many good cards from Ravnica.
It was an amazing time. I started playing in that era when I was just a goober playing in a basement LGS game room. I can still remember the first packs of ravnica I opened and falling in love seeing that Vraska booster display, that's the kind of art that sets Magic apart from other games. It's what drew so many of us in, and sank us deeper into that amazing fantasy world that Wizards created in that time. It was so good people bought it up like hot cakes. OG Ravnica boxes are getting really hard to find, like over 2k, moving into that high end category with onslaught and some other sets of that era. I'm definitely a ravnica stan, and I know it influenced a lot of other people the same way.

It’s really sad that, in this expensive premium set, the best-value Common is Persistent Petitioners (~75¢) and the chase Uncommon is Farseek (~$1). Even most of the Rares are trash…

I forgot about Rhythm of the Wild. It’s just a little more than $2 right now. I was pretty happy to pull a few Farseeks though.

Some may see this as an end to an dynasty, but it truly is the beginning of a new era.
I'm hopeful that play boosters will be a smooth transition; but i've always been a player that cared about collecting as well as playing. With that being said, I still hate collector boosters, at least how they are now. If WotC ever changes the formula for those and makes more "reasonable" prices for them, then I still won't buy them, but more players can have some fun with them.

The LCS I went to for the ravnica remastered draft had booster boxes selling for $220. Ended up telling them the card shop I usually buy cards from was selling them for $180 and somehow he was shocked anyone would sell a box at $5 a booster. There's a reason I only go there for board games and releases.
You should do this with Dominaria Remastered. Boxes are going for $95, and Force of Will and Vampiric Tutors are largely holding their value.

This is the last draft booster box game *until* - as hinted 1:50 - WotC reintroduces draft boosters in, say, 2027…remember when Origins was the “last” core set?

For a set that has been called "RavniSCAM", GAMEPIECES, etc., making it to a second box and failing by less than $30 is a more than respectable result. Better than a lot of other sets.
This set will only go up once MKM releases and the wheels of MtG go on.

I just open a draft booster box recently. And realised I was meant to play Selesnya. I have a RTR Temple Garden, opened a Expedition Temple Garden (which I sold) and now opened 2 Temple Garden from the box

I'll probably join your Patreon Friday. As someone that hasn't bought a card since 1997 or played a game since 1999 your videos have been extremely helpful. It's still like walking into a mirror version of a world I though I knew. Maybe I should make a video about that?
The only bombs in this set are the serialized ones and of course every pain land. Everything being a reprint just brings it all down. However so many of the anime reprints are simply awesome art!
Honestly, I like this set. It's fun. Good limited and good reprints. Plus I somehow pulled a serialized card from my one collector boosters I always get. So that was a nice send off. Also waiting on the Behind the Campus video. I'm sure it's coming and I'm excited for it.
I wish I was in a spot to be able to try this once or twice.

The prices on these cards will go down. I am seeing so many Shock Lands being pulled from box openings. Our group will not buy any sealed boxes unless there is a huge Amazon dump. We may wait awhile and buy some singles. Thank you for the video Professor.

I loved this set as its my first chance to experience all the history of Ravnica. If it werent for the prices and the absolutely awful quality on the regular foil cards, this wouldve been my favorite set of the last 12 months.

Those price changes are why my FLGS doesn't buy singles for the first week of any new expansion.
I watch every Ad in Prof's video's due to his comedic genius. Literally skip every other creator's in-video ads if I can, but never miss one of Prof's. Am I the only one?
I didn't even realize Anime Arts were in draft boosters. I thought they were Collectors exclusives. (I opened 10 packs without seeing any anime)
Who exactly do you sell the cards too … that takes them all so fast?
I list the cards online using market low prices meaning they are the cheapest individual listings for each card and thus the very next to sell.
Given that he's said that he has done some of the booster box game recording multiple boxes on the same day, I don't think it's too bold to assume he doesn't actually sell them, just takes the market value on the day and if it exceeds the value of the box opens another. Just says "sell them and then goes to the LGS to get another box" to make it seem more relatable.

This set seems to be pretty well balanced for value. There are a good number of cards that are worth $5-12. It's doesn't seem as much as if you don't get a chace card you won't get value for the box (depending what you paid for it).
I like numbers. I would like to know how many cards have you sold doing all those booster box games over 10 years. If you're using some kind of online marketplace, maybe you have some way to see those stats over time? :D
this actually looks like a fun set, i like all the retro frames and those anime foils look great even though i dont like anime lol. It doesnt look as good as Dominaria Remastered (but also my nostalgia for DMR is much higher since i played '97-'00). whereas i was ok paying $180 for DMR on release, no way am i paying anything close to that for this set. This should've been a much cheaper $120-140 draft box. if it ever falls to low $100s i'll grab a couple.

I was pretty burned out with product for a while and bought a box of this for this first time since WOE. I had no idea what was even in it, but it was really fun! Reminded me a lot of dominaria remastered (which makes sense of course).
Ixalan was a good set and fair pricing too had a chance of pulling mana crypt which I pulled 2 of. Only bought a set box and a gift bundle and maybe 10 or so rando boosters of.
@@earthpond8043 i might eventually pick up a box. It did look cool, but I don’t care for dinosaurs even though some did look fun to play. On top of the mana crypt I’d like a shot at the cavern of souls too. Congrats on your pulls. That’s real nice. My last pack that held me off until this box had a confetti foil rhystic study in it so that helped too lol. That’s hard to top. It’s luckily still holding fairly decently in price.
