I love how the French subtext talks about a man who pours milk in his bowl before adding cereal (invoking the wrath of the online community). He also has a farm for cultivating some unknown fruit, and he has a knife he bought on Amazon. Stay calm when you encounter this man and say 'glauber salts'. That's where I got to so far.
There's something so perfectly Distractible-coded that Mark shows a video of the terrifying awful wildfires ravaging LA only for his phone to immediately jump to an unprompted, unknown, unwanted video of a *phallic controller*
I think I know what's happening to Wade. It happened to my parents except their dealership explained. Basically the demand is so high on some of the models that the factories are only building certain packages in bulk so if you want one of the packages that is a little bit less common like a key starter or in the case of the RAV4 not having a moon window thing, you have to wait like 6 months because they don't have very many lines dedicated to the production of the weird combos. As long as you get one of the standard packages you can get it in about 6 weeks. I would argue that the major combinations that they are cranking out in bulk are garbage, but people are basically forced to buy them because you're not going to get your vehicle if you get one of the better combos. So now my parents are being angry about too many electronic components that they don't understand, but at least their car functions. I'll be rebuilding my car until car manufacturers actually build something I want again. I would love an electric or hybrid but they are garbage right now unless you get one of the huge ones and I do not want a large vehicle.
I find it absolutely hilarious Mark did research on steel, and talked about how nobody agrees on it (which is perfectly accurate) and then landed on a knife that uses the ONE STEEL everyone agrees sucks.

"I'm sure it's all very controlled because they're professionals..." Well, they are professionals, and VERY skilled pilots, but even in light winds, flying that close to a massive thermal engine makes for extremely challenging flight conditions, to say the least. Combine an already difficult precision water drop maneuver with a sudden CoG shift from releasing the water, and variable air density from the high temperatures of the nearby fire causing unpredictable lift characteristics, and holy crap, just no thank you! These pilots are epic masters of their art, and deserve a lot more attention than they get!

I feel for all those going through the LA fires. I was living in California in 2019 or something like that when there was a massive fire in California but it was in Sonoma County and a lot of the cities burned down. Thankfully my family and I didn't get hit or lose anything but I do know a lot of people who lost their homes, their businesses, their jobs, everything to those fires. And I feel nothing but sympathy for anyone going through the same thing. Just stay safe everyone and if you can get out of California as its constantly on fire. I know I did and its been such a relief
Glad everyone is good, I had friends who lost almost everything in the Eaton fire ❤️ And yes the Santa Ana winds are insane. The house I grew up in was cornered but unaffected by the 2003 and 2007 Orange County fires
Seeing the cuts on Mark's arms while he does his smalltalk and all I can think of is "Mark-sleepswithknives-iplier" and "wow mark really got a sharp knife if he already accidentally cut himself with it."
People's horrendous reactions to the Palisades fire has reminded me a lot of the response to the destruction Katrina caused. I was living in the Mobile, Al area during that time and while we definitely didn't get it as bad as NOLA, I had my fair share of empathy-lacking troglodyes offer their opinions on how things should have been handled and it was very clear they had no clue what they were talking about. People are suffering, be it millionaire celebrities or lower middle class nobodies. Their financial status doesn't negate the loss they've faced.
I watch the video running in the background so its a podcast where I can check the video for reference. I don't know where I fall on your scale of listeners to viewers but I'm definitely there. =^-^=
You have to go to a car dealership knowing what you're going to buy otherwise you'll be gaslight into buying the newest model of a car which is why Wade is being told to wait 4 months. i don't think he realizes that he can also buy some of the "used" models that are around the lot.
I go to a dealership that doesnt earn commission if u buy a car. I fuckin love it. The employees are all like "theres now no pressure to force u to buy shit, its great!" I got a honda crv. In the past 16yrs ive gone there 2x-3x. I tried another dealership because of distance and they tried all the shady tactics and at each tactic i told em to fuck off, they called me a monster and then i went back to my zero commission policy dealership and it was so nice. I hate the LED bright ass bulbs too. I have an astigmatism and it makes life wooooorse.
There is no excuse for the lack forestry work in CA (if the information I’ve seen about the situation is factual). By forestry I mean controlled burns, keeping vegetation down near homes, monitoring areas for high fire risk and removing dry vegetation if it gets to be risky, using fire breaks (basically a wide trench or bare patch so there’s nothing to burn so the fire can’t get to residential areas, they can also be used to put out a fire by lighting the area on the other side of the trench where the fire is, it “traps” it, really cool, but I realize that may not have helped in this situation because of the wind) This is my opinion as someone who lives in a state where controlled burns are literally part of our science lessons in school, we had a field trip to the local botanical gardens where they were doing one so they could teach us how they’re done safely, and the benefits it provides. One of them being wildfire prevention, but it also helps the trees and provides the soil with a lot of nutrients. And controlled burns are done in small increments, so any animals have ample time to get out of the way, most clear out when they hear people coming anyway, as opposed to not doing controlled burns, which would result in a wildfire that would wipe out a huge area at once, not giving them time to escape. You’re basically getting rid of the fuel before it can all ignite at once, because eventually it WILL. The ecosystem is literally built to do that.
Natural disasters are going to happen. Uncontrollable and nothing you can prepare for. My concern is the government's lack of support to places after such disasters--such as western North Carolina and surrounding states that were impacted earlier this year by Hurricane Helene. I have a feeling that the same will happen to California in the fire impacted regions.
Oh, Mark bought a D2 steel knife, huh? Wow, congratulations on owning a glorified paperweight with the corrosion resistance of a wet sponge and the edge retention of a butter knife after a long day at Thanksgiving dinner. I bet you just love sharpening that thing every five minutes, right? Oh wait, don’t tell me-you don’t even sharpen it, do you? You’re probably out here slicing cardboard and thinking, ‘Wow, this knife is so rugged.’ Meanwhile, D2 steel is out there crying for oil like an old pickup truck. Let me guess, Mark. You watched one RUclips video about “best steels for survival knives,” saw some guy in cargo shorts say D2 is ‘semi-stainless,’ and now you think you’re Bear Grylls? Bruh, you’d sweat on it and end up with rust spots before you even get to cutting open a pack of trail mix. And don’t even get me started on your knife's design-I bet it’s one of those flashy, tacticool monstrosities that’s ‘totally practical’ for all those intense knife fights you definitely get into at Starbucks. Keep telling yourself that D2 is a good choice for EDC, Mark. Meanwhile, I’ll be over here slicing cheese and chopping onions with my VG-10 steel blade that doesn’t scream, ‘I bought this because it looked cool on Amazon.‘"
Truck recomendation even if only to talk about it. The Telo is a compact truck the size of a mini cooper but still maintains enough space for people and all your truck needs. It's pretty cool actually and I'm not really a truck person. I ended up putting in my order for one. They start delivering next year.
As a knife collector, the first part of Mark's small talk is 100% accurate. The steel snobbery is rampant and unending, and I'm definitely guilty of it from time to time.
I've been saying this for MONTHS 😭😭😭 we need to stop focusing on which individual civilians' "faults" a crisis is, and start focusing on how to help the people who are affected by the crisis. It blows my mind that so many people are just screaming and pointing fingers when that energy could be used to actually help someone. It doesn't matter who you voted for, nobody deserves to lose their home, nobody deserves to lose their health care, and nobody deserves to be thrown out of the country (re: regardless of whom they voted for). We need to protect and support one another when these crises happen.
As if my 2025 wasn't starting off on the wrong foot, I was getting stressed with the Palisades fire creeping into the SFV side of the mountains and was starting to pack in the case we needed to evacuate. Even if where I live was well away from the mountains, after seeing what happened at Altadena I didn't want to risk a panic in an evacuation warning passing Ventura Blvd. Just wished they could show the actual active fire area to the put-out area, it took me a few days to calm down when the maps wouldn't update the warnings.
I love the environment talk in this episode. Climate anxiety and depression was a huge struggle for me, and seeing all the misinformation and hate spread again brings me back to that headspace. Listening to creators that i like show their support gives me hope, and motivation to take some action.
To be fair, a large part of the reason why people are looking at California and the fires and going "not my problem" or telling the people there that well, they kinda brought this on themselves, is down the fact that the people they elected into office, took actions which made everything ten times worse than it had to be. An LAFD memo shows that Bass (LA Mayor) requested an additional $48.8 million in budget cuts and indicated that 16 fire stations would need to close as part of the cuts. Several of those stations that were slated to be closed... are in the affected areas. California Gov. Gavin Newsom has called for an investigation into why the reservoir was empty and told reporters that all of the region’s reservoirs were operating and full. However, data from the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power show that five other reservoirs are currently empty. The reservoir issue has already led to one lawsuit being filed, the Associated Press reported. Had the reservoir been filled, then the water lines wouldn't have run dry. Essentially, the argument that people use to look at the LA fire and just "shrug" is thus. "You voted these people into office... they mismanaged and screwed up everything... so, you made your bed, be prepared to lie in it."
Agreed. All political affiliations and fighting aside, the facts are the facts. There was mismanagement going into this and it made a bad situation even worse than it needed to be. And California did in fact vote the folks who mismanaged the situation into office.
If my neighborhood had been wrecked by an insane fire/wind combo and I looked up to see Markiplier walking down the street with a chainsaw... I honestly don't know what my first emotion would be. Quite possibly fear.
Wade. I’m also in cinci. I have a father in law who used to sell cars at the Honda dealership and you should not be having these issues. Go to a new dealership. Ok ❤
I admit I love Supermarket Simulator. Waiting for Mark to play more. Also if you want to improve your store Mark watch Caylus play throughs. He got a huge store and many employees and made money.
Can I just say that as someone way out of the loop of the fire in LA and the issues involved around it, it was very easy to slip into an echo-chamber of people screaming and yelling about how the fire was 100% because of bad resource management. However, after hearing many accounts of the reason it's happening and why it couldn't be contained the way a fire normally would be it has become very apparent to me that yeah sure, maybe they could've done a little better, but given the random weather events that sparked and aided this fire, it would probably have gotten it to where it is now eventually anyways. It was just a perfect storm of bad luck and bad weather.

And yes the Santa Ana winds are insane. The house I grew up in was cornered but unaffected by the 2003 and 2007 Orange County fires
Love that i finally get to see new episodes after binge watching the last few weeks
The guys shit-talking Elon Musk couldn’t have come on a better day.
Bob: "I forgot my name."
Well you are getting older.
Seeing the cuts on Mark's arms while he does his smalltalk and all I can think of is "Mark-sleepswithknives-iplier" and "wow mark really got a sharp knife if he already accidentally cut himself with it."
He wanted to see if he could take it, incase he ever accidently cuts himself.
Not because he's a masochist or anything.
Wade needing a 7 seater for 2 people is probably why he hasn't bought a vehicle yet
This is a joke btw
@@VaalkinTheOnly it is very on brand for him though. I half expected that to be a joke from him this episode.
@@Blasted2Oblivion Lmfao yeah that's fair
I have been LOVING Wade's live streams of Storage Hunter Simulator.
**immediately consumes this episode** thanks i was starving
Starting to think Mark isn’t a fan of Elon lol
I'm glad everything is calm enough that you all have time to record.
I watch the video running in the background so its a podcast where I can check the video for reference. I don't know where I fall on your scale of listeners to viewers but I'm definitely there.
=^-^=
Idk what to believe anymore
Is this a real new upload of distractible
Yep. Exclusivity contract with Spotify ended
Chainsaw Man? Nah, Chainsaw Mark!
Just want to point out, that if Wade gets a vehicle, he and Bob should make a video about the shopping process. It'd be gold.
Mark now driving a truck adds to his rough and tough knife and tactical shovel persona.
Great episode guys!!!
The thumbnail literally scared me so badly
It’s ok Mark, I too bought a knife from Amazon a few months back. But it’s the tiniest pocket knife you could buy and I love it!
love u boys and im happy to hear you’re safe
Mark: I didn't buy an American car
Also Mark: I bought a Ford Lightning
As a knife collector, the first part of Mark's small talk is 100% accurate. The steel snobbery is rampant and unending, and I'm definitely guilty of it from time to time.
Easily my favorite pod cast
16:35 I laughed so hard at 5am I scared my housemate lmao
I've been saying this for MONTHS 😭😭😭 we need to stop focusing on which individual civilians' "faults" a crisis is, and start focusing on how to help the people who are affected by the crisis. It blows my mind that so many people are just screaming and pointing fingers when that energy could be used to actually help someone. It doesn't matter who you voted for, nobody deserves to lose their home, nobody deserves to lose their health care, and nobody deserves to be thrown out of the country (re: regardless of whom they voted for).
We need to protect and support one another when these crises happen.
Wade, just get a CR-V Hybrid. I just got one last year and I love this thing. I get about 38 miles per gallon. It's fantastic.
My mom's entire neighborhood she grew up in burned in that fire, it sucks. Her old home, school, everything.
I love the environment talk in this episode. Climate anxiety and depression was a huge struggle for me, and seeing all the misinformation and hate spread again brings me back to that headspace. Listening to creators that i like show their support gives me hope, and motivation to take some action.
I have a visual eye snow, which also makes that 10 second afterimage last *waaaay* longer. so I simply cannot drive at night.
Welcome back everyone, and I’m happy you are all safe.
Marks gunna become a volunteer firefighter within the next few years I'm calling it ☝️
The boys are back
That might have been the most expensive shot of the fire yet lol
I'm quivering from the lack of distractible episodes for over a week. Finally!
bing watch the old ones!
You’re doing WHAT? 🤨
Shaking and crying rn
I mean considering what's been going on in California, it's understandable that they didn't do episodes.
28:53 "There was this one guy, he was on like a successful tv show a while back and since then he hasn't done too much..." Bojack?? 😭
Finally, someone who speaks logic and not emotion.
Mark getting a truck makes me feel proud. I applaud you.
13:34 light flicker behind mark 👻👻👻
Ayo I saw it too
Oh hek yeah, with that Ford Mark will be barrelling all over the place like thunder!
40:52 Im glad this is a universal experience because both me and my brother do the full pinch your nose, wave your hand and go "PEEEE-YEWWW"
If my neighborhood had been wrecked by an insane fire/wind combo and I looked up to see Markiplier walking down the street with a chainsaw... I honestly don't know what my first emotion would be. Quite possibly fear.
Damn, I jumped on at the right time 😅
Wade. I’m also in cinci. I have a father in law who used to sell cars at the Honda dealership and you should not be having these issues. Go to a new dealership. Ok ❤
i got jumpscared by the thumbnail as I was scrolling :-(
Also I agree, climate change should be scientific, not political
honestly i believe they made it up or exaggerated it extremely 😅
@@Differ220 ?????
Do you think that Wade's snow is communist?
@@Differ220 you stupid? The charts make it pretty damn obvious that it is in-fact real, and you’re seeing the effects with your own eyes

I admit I love Supermarket Simulator. Waiting for Mark to play more. Also if you want to improve your store Mark watch Caylus play throughs. He got a huge store and many employees and made money.
lol "They self censor when they get used" for whatever reason that made me laugh.
I'm so happy everyone is safe!
