I really felt like an idiot down there in the crowd. We were suffering lol... missed Bad Wolves cause of that stupidly long / slow line, and we missed Hollywood Undead tryin to find water. People were dropping from heatstroke left and right. The food truck sucked and came underprepared... the whole event seemed as if it was being held for maybe a few hundred people, but in reality 10,000 were there. Performance-wise Papa Roach and FIR put on great shows, but I should’ve just watched from up there. You guys had it easy lol
My only concern is that while this was a VERY successful event. The ones who managed it ruined everything. It is hard trying to enjoy great shows while you are waiting for an extremely small and understaffed admission / security team to let people in. It is also hard to have fun while you are trying to desperately find a place that didn’t sellout of water within 30 minutes so you don’t pass out due to heatstroke like many people did. I hope that they will book more big rock / metal shows in the future, but I fear the organizers ruined this venue’s reputation with fans and bands alike. Do you really think bands are going to want to come here and play after this mess? Or that people will want to risk paying $100+ only to miss half a show or wind up in the ER?
Bay city, my old hometown, was NOT ready for what these bands bring with them, and I hope they took example from this and realize that they need to research other shows and see how things are done when top current bands show up… could have been done so much better. They had mobile ticket scanners, they could have been walking the line of people scanning hours ahead of time and handing out bracelets to those who paid so that everyone could just flow in and just show a bracelet as they pass through.
Or bring a big water bottle and be prepared. People just want things to be handed them. Like water at a rock concert… the world doesn’t revolve around you
Quick question... did VIPs have anything really going for them besides closer seats? We were there in GA area, and it was absolute pain... it is a miracle I didn’t have a heatstroke.
Access to the area in front of sound. The description was a little misleading in how it was presented. The only other VIP sold was Falling In Reverse that gave you merch goodies and still access to same area as venue vip.
I paid for VIP and it sucked! The reasons we paid for it was to be closer but also because the venue advertised it as VIP access to bathrooms and concessions which we did not have and they also advertised that they would have chairs in VIP and there were none!! I am disabled and between standing in line so long that we completely missed Bad Wolves and then NO CHAIRS in VIP, I had to leave before FIR ever took stage!! If I hadve known, I would've took my own chair! I will NEVER go to this venue again!!
