It took Ferdinand Magellan years to circumnavigate the world. Nowadays, we can go around the world in 3 months carrying tons of cargo or passengers. All these because of our navigational equipments that serves as the eyes and ears of a navigator. We have double of everything on the bridge. How safe are we? I would say...very safe. Armed with proper knowledge and training in the use of equipments, you csn sleep well at night just like a passenger in an aircraft who relies on the pilot.
