I absolutely bloody love all this! I had over 100 Mega Drive games as a kid. Wish I kept alot of them now. Still probably my most enjoyable gaming period. Everything from the box art to the cartridges. Just loved that era and this brings back so many happy memories 😎 Some real finds in this video too that even I don't remember seeing back in the day.
Seeing the games you still need, I was really excited on the rare occasions I had a game you need. The one that sticks in the mind is Bram Stoker's Dracula, I picked that up a couple of weeks ago for £80 for an exceptionally minty copy. Your remaining games aren't all over £100!
But does the game True Lies have the best scene from the movie? Hmmm? Hurricanes with the sneaky platformer hidden behind a sports look--note taken! Love that look at your Sega collector's coins; there's something about items like this that I love seeing. I used to collect comic cards, so I like seeing these Sega cards too. AND, nice to see them in protective cases and put in with the games. That's what I did with the LRG cards when they still did those--protective cases and then stored with said game. Such a beautiful and eclectic collection of Sega goodness here Mike!
I must admit, I do envy how believably excited you get over these retro games I enjoy my retro arch setup on my mini PC, but I haven't been into games with enthusiasm like yours since I was a kid going to blockbuster video
Another banger of a video, Mike! I always loved those Aero (and Zero) games. And most Asterix games on Sega systems are pretty solid too. Mega Games 6 vol 3??? So lucky, I've been looking for it for ages!!!! Still waiting for my Cursed Legacy, looks so good!!!
I enjoy and love seeing all your pick ups from all your videos and each time in those’d videos I will see a games or items that I own there will also be stuff I didn’t have or knew about but the main thing is watching your videos brings back so many great memories of growing up with my sega mega drive console love it to death so I’m on this journey with you and can’t wait to see you complete it Mike
That's great to hear. I love finding new bits for the collection that I never knew about. And I don't think I'll finish soon, there are all those variants to collect 🤣
Your company is incredible, I hope you get all those games and of course a copy of Paprium! One more thing, don't you think that with so many homebrew releases, it wouldn't be bad to have a magazine where all these games were analyzed and lists made just as they did in the 90s. Greetings!
I love Shane Warne cricket! Do you know why it says Version 2? It's because the 'original' has game breaking bug. Sometimes the game doesn't register when the bat hits the ball (the ball just goes through the bat). That bug only happens sometimes, the way to check is turn on the game, go to nets practice, play as batsman, and if you can't hit the ball the game is bugged so turn off and try again until the bat hit registers. Speaking from personal experience its so annoying and strange, have to start the 'original' version so many times until by luck the bug isn't there!
Nice collection I’ve got some of the games that you have in your collection like Bram Stoker’s Dracula as well as pebble Beach golf links which I didn’t pay too much for and I think it’s the only T&E soft game that we got in the UK apart from Super Hydlide, I also have Bubsy, I also admire your standards when it comes to collecting games in regards to the condition that they must be in I’m very much like that any mega drive game that I buy it has to have the complete set box booklet and the cartridge, it’s cool that you got there mega city version of Dune.
Hi, i have two of those cases. Picked them up cheap years ago. £8 for one £14 for the other. Those holes might be for the mega cd. They may have planned a case that would allow for the mega cd and the megadrive. That way they could reuse the base and make a new top. Looking at the picture on the packaging, the top isn't moulded. So you may have. Been able to have the mega cd and megadrive in the case at the same time.
Really enjoyed the collection update…. I have just nabbed one of those ATP tour games, it’s quite uncommon- I am only going for the uk set as I collect too much already. I got my True Lies on my sisters wedding day…had a nip round the local game shops in her town before the wedding and nabbed it for £20…it was going back 15 years now! Love the look of that Bubsy card box set. It’s been really good to follow your journey, all the best.
If you want to get your hands on Batman forever for the Sega mega drive complete with token 3 today is the day. There is one on eBay ending later. UK PAL 😉
Ha cool! The carrying case! So I didn’t know if there ever was an official case, or if there even was one for a genesis. I own 6 consoles (I think it’s 6) and I was able to salvage some old Hitachi drill cases from my last employer (cases took up space). I would cut away the deviders out to allow my consoles to fit. With room for cords and controllers. They have hitachi branding, but labelled with sharpie
So many new games for the mega drive, im amazed. Im myself still waiting for any news on Earthion and when it will be available for purchase. BTW Arent you going to pick up Stone Protectors from Piko Interactive? Its actually a fun beat em up. The Mega Drive port was canceled at the time but the snes version made it out. i bought my copy in the strictly limited shop. The australian games will be hard to find in a good contition and a ok price, Punisher and Spider-Man maybe try the genesis versions that are cheaper... i know you want a pal set but man... A important spanish collector is actually selling his copy of the punisher, he has a youtube channel its called Spine Card or Spine Card TV (sorry for the mention) maybe you can contact him. Hes a great guy.
Hi Mike, your collection is amazing! You're one of the best Mega Drive collectors I know, and I've learned a lot from your videos. I see that you're primarily collecting PAL Mega Drive games, but you've also added Brazilian TecToy titles to the mix. While Brazil is a 60 Hz region, I know that isn't the only factor that defines PAL - there’s something about the color encoding too, I believe. That said, besides the exclusive titles, most of the other games released in Brazil, especially the American Genesis games, were also available there. My question is: do you plan to include those in your collection as well? For example, TecToy released Gargoyles, an amazing game that's not in your collection yet. Since you’ve already included Yu Yu Hakusho: Sunset Fighters, the Brazilian Portuguese version of Yu Yu Hakusho Makyō Tōitsusen, it seems fitting to consider all the Genesis exclusives that were released in Brazil. What do you think? One more thing that you may already know: Mônica na Terra dos Monstros, a Brazilian exclusive, is essentially a modification of Wonder Boy in Monster World. It was released twice - the original version in a plastic case like other TecToy games, and a more recent version (I believe in 2017) in a paper box by TecToy. Good luck and Cheers!
Some great additions, there. True Lies actually took me by surprise, and i found it to be quite a good game. But i have to agree, the levels went on a bit too long.
It's crazy to see what's hard to find/expensive in PAL as opposed to here in NTSC-land. I randomly have a beautiful PAL MegaDrive copy of Flink, I love it as a big Adventures of Lomax fan on PS1. I got it because I never bought a Sega CD and really wanted to play it, found out PAL had a MegaDrive release and got it off of ebay years ago. My copy of Flink has a really cool sticker on it advertising a 10 pound off coupon from all these weird European stores I've never heard of. It's always cool to see stuff like that across the pond
I was lucky to purchase years back before their prices skyrocketed Addams Family Values, Aero the Acrobat 2, Asterix and The Power Of Gods (French Edition with postcard), Flink, Zero The Kamikaze, Treasure Land Adventure and Clone Wars. I remember blown away by the graphics of Flink when i first discovered it (drawings made by Henk Nieborg) so much that i couldn't believe that it was a Megadrive game. Also a heads up for the French limited edition of Asterix and The Power Of Gods that includes the post card. Those French pals got some extras in their editions back in the day like the leaflets for Ecco The dolphin games, the cards in Beyond Oasis and the stamp cards in Asterix and The Power Of Gods. Good luck with Daze Before Christmas, Death and Return Of Superman, Ecco Jr., The Punisher, Saturday Night Slammasters, Maximum Carnage and Separation Anxiety and i hope they will not cost you an arm and a leg 🤐, you are very close 👍.
Ha! I knew you wouldn't poke a hole in that case! Man. Shame you aren't in the U.S. I have most of those games you are missing, albeit for the Genesis. Not the European exclusives, obviously.
@@RetroGamerBoy I saw at my local retro game store Death and Return of Superman was $130 CAD (with a case, dunno about the manual) I remembered what you were saying about how insane this nonrare game goes for and I also think to about 15-20 years ago, I got mine for no more than $20 (cart and case)

I like the SG consoles but they are well over priced. I've seen other companies start to create FPGA consoles that are a quarter of the price. I'm definitely getting a GF1, and I'm going to make the box! 😅

It's an amazing hobby. I've bought something for the console every year since it's release.
The Sega MD cards are an eye opener for me, I didn’t know they exist! Congrats on collecting the full set of them. 👍
I only discovered them a few years ago. I wish they had made one for every game.

It does have stills from the game, but not the ones that count.
Dune is a great pickup. Such a unique game with an incredible soundtrack.
It's sooooo cool.

Mike, I think it is time you make your own sega genesis game. I would back it day one.
I would love that. I just need time and people😅
Hey Mike. Have you played Hayato"s Journey? A pretty cool MD indie game!
I have and I have a video coming on it soon.
Amazing collection!
Slayer and blunts for brothers across the pond always 🤘

Dune is an excellent game. Sega CD version is great, too. I also have it on the Amiga.
I have this game for Sega Genesis hardback version. crusade of centy complete with everything, how much is it worth?
In Europe about $130 in the US $1000+
