At the beginning of the video, when Booker hit the floor, he sarcastically said it was a "Luka Special." That was in Game 5, won by Phoenix to go up 3-2, and that comment unleashed Luka Doncic's Kraken. (edited - thanks Sauce Walka)
I see that Michael Jordan in Luka. To come back after being totally humiliated in game 5, with D Book talking trash, and then humiliating the Suns the next two games where you ultimately embarrass the whole Suns organization in front of their fans, is one of the most savage things I’ve ever seen from a superstar.
For the CP3 pun there is a good one in NBA history for such nicknames, a russian player named Andrei Kirilenko wore the number 47 so therefor he became AK47 which is a sick nickname for a russian baller
The Kobe clip legit had me teary eyed. Not even because he’s gone (God rest his soul) but because as huge bball fans, hearing and seeing an athlete have that genuine mentality is how we’d like to think we would be if we were that talented at sports. The narrator and gents are right, that’s how you tell the diff between a nice player and a f’in stud.
These events did come from this past season. After they beat the suns, they went up against the warriors and lost, sending the warriors to the fiinals to beat the celtics. Still an incredible run, very few people had the mavericks making conference finals this year Jxmyhighroller is definitely one of my favorite content creators nowadays. Just a dude who loves basketball and has great topic choices
To be fair, Luka isn't the reason the Mavs couldn't beat the warriors. This is coming from a dubs fan. Luka is a bonafide baller. He's not going away 🤣.
Chris Paul is an interesting case. Undoubtedly one of the greatest PG of all time. As the PG, he's the team leader. The ball is in his hands more than anyone and he directs the team on the court. He has changed teams several times now and every team he's on immediately becomes a playoff team. He consistently leads his teams to great regular seasons, only to fold in the playoffs. I'm not one to question anyone's heart like this video did, but there is something missing that has led to playoff disappointment every year.
Yep. I started watching the NBA in 2000 and have seen his whole career. IDK what it is about CP3, but you are spot on. It is so strange for a top 5 smartest players in the NBA for over decade to be so inconsistent in the times when being smart would be the most beneficial aspect of your game. He's earned my respect, but has had such an oxymoron of a career.

Great video, keep doing NBA content! I'm from Indy and a Pacers fan and what I love about our draft pick this year, Mathurin, is that he's cut from the same "fight for it every step of the way" cloth. This mentality is going to separate him from the rest of the new rookies that I think we have a star on our hands
Fellow Pacers fan and I'm with you man. I'm not sure I like immediately calling LeBron out 🤣 but I love his swagger and I'll take this any day over another star player we had who just wanted to go embrace James after every game
I respect Trae Young's game but i cant stand him for some reason. I know i sound like a hater and i dont mean to be but something about him makes me inwardly recoil if you know what i mean. He's a great player now and will continue to be for years to come. I wish him nothing but the best(except when he is playing the Mav's lol). He terrorized new york fans for sure though. Luka and Trae both are cut from that cloth i think.
Im a Mav's fan so i love Luka but i wonder how he would stack up to Larry. Larry Bird just seems larger than life and a legend so its hard for me to compare current stars to past legends. Luka is at least 4 years from being in his prime so who knows how good he'll be then.
Kobe's "better bring another one" is him just spitting facts. No one could guard him. And former Laker great Byron Scott tells a story about how Larry Bird was offended when a team put a white rookie to defend him all game. Bird told the opposing coach "you'd better get this guy off me or I'm going to torch him." Then said later that it was an "insult" to think a white guy could ever guard him.
Yea it was marvelous seeing the Suns choke that away, they were so cocky this past season trash talking teams like they were a Championship team. They badly needed to be humbled and realize that aren’t really that good. Luka is a generational talent who can go down as one of the greatest to ever play.
This is the one reason I LIKE American sports "Playoffs" It is a totally different animal than a Regular Season. The mentality is different. Bill Russell, Derek Jeter, Magic Johnson, Mike Jordan, Mariano Rivera, Terry Bradshaw. All Multiple Champs who stepped it up in the Playoffs and their Stats reflect that. Luka will win at least one before he is done.
The ONLY knock on Luka is that he could be in better shape. Now after getting close to the Finals he is at last spending the off-season really busting his ass to get fitter. Plus Dallas traded for a rangy and talented big man to give them more inside presence. Can't wait to see what Luka does next season.
As someone who has been fortunate enough to sit court side at a mavs game, he is not fat in the least bit. Nba players are insanely lean. A lot of the "in shape" guys look like absolute twigs in person, even though they obviously aren't. There's a reason a "slow out of shape" looking luka bullies guys his size and gets to whatever spot he wants. His size is an advantage.
CP3 received his nickname as a child because he, his father, and his brother all share the same initials. Father was CP1, big brother was CP2, and he was CP3.

20:24 It’s possible to win a championship title without have another ‘star player’ or top-40 player, but the chips are highly stacked against you to always lead the team. The only player that I think has done in the last 10 years is Kawhi Leonard with the Toronto Raptors in 2019 (I personally don’t think Lowry or Siakam were top 40 at that time).
I think what happens is, there are a lot of players that have natural talent where they don’t have to put in as much work to be good. Grow up being the best in their school, town, state etc. and when it gets really tough, they don’t know how to put it into an extra gear. Whereas other players might not have been the best in their area and have to work harder then everyone else. And they can easily shift into that extra gear when needed.
No luka has always been naturally talented. He got signed at 13 to one of the top 5 biggest sports clubs in the world. Just helped that he has the size, weight, and athleticism.
In 2010, the Packers had to beat the rival Bears on the last week of the regular season just to go 9-7 and snag the final wildcard spot. All they did was go to Philly and beat the Eagles.
