How much Rowa Phos did you use in your little tank? I followed the instruction from D&D on how to use Rowa in a reactor, I made 3 gallons of RO water, I put the Rowa in and I flushed it, it literally took 3 gallons to not even completely flush it, I only used 60 ML or two caps of NightQuell.
Hi Jim, in my experience and through other advanced reefers, the dust is not harmful. There is no need to rinse. Just a few seconds under low flow tap water is fine. 👍🏻
Phos rx mimics calcium and coral skeleton absorbs it aswell so you don’t know what levels of calcium you have this shit played havoc with my apex kalk stopped being dosed and I had to dose alk separately in dos I wouldn’t recommend using this product
@@TOMReefer I also use Phosguard, it’s good stuff, can’t be doing with that GFO it’s too messy. I never disturb my sandbed as I leave to the cuc, loads of good bacteria in there, bit of a trade off really. 👍
Been battling some phosphate issues and your little video about the phosphate reservoirs kind of help me understand why would have no phosphates one minute and then have phosphates the next day
Hi Disher, I use Hannah checker for phosphate and alkalinity. They’re very good. I use Salifert for nitrate and calcium. They are very good. Those are my go to tests 👍🏻😊
@@TOMReefer I agree Tom, I use all Hanna kits as I find them very good but and with no disrespect to you it was a bit blatant, I have been reefing for 35 years and in my day you only had an No3 etc but now companies make more money out of selling you things you don’t need, enjoy your stuff though.
@@TOMReefer No issues here, I just never looked up how these tests work. There is a lot of great reviews on them and lots of people recommend them, just never realized there was that many steps to testing your water with them. I’m sure they are much more accurate then the api tests that I use but it’s also pretty quick and easy. Nice tank!!
Hannah checker is quite accurate. It’s pricy, but it’s a good idea to have an accurate test when it comes to phosphate. API are just not accurate enough. 👍🏻
Thank you for this video! I'm having issues with phosphate in my 6 month old 20 gallon nano
Hey Nevin, you saw an oldie but goodie 😃 glad the video helped. 👍🏻😊 any more questions feel free.
I enjoy your videos. The are very informative! I am new to the hobby and have learned so much from you videos!

Thanks for this. I've been using phosguard, and I've tried gfo, hence now looking to try phosphate rx.
Remember what I said in your other post. Vacuum your sand bed, it’s collecting phosphate. It will help tremendously. 👍🏻

Hey do you run a skimmer on the 20 gallon??
Hi Matthew, yes, a small one called Reef Glass. It works quite well for 20 gallons 👍🏻
Good video thanks
An old one! 😁
But a good one
Been battling some phosphate issues and your little video about the phosphate reservoirs kind of help me understand why would have no phosphates one minute and then have phosphates the next day
So thanks 🙏🏽
Since the checker has an automatic shut off why does it go off when you push it from C2 to calibrate it? Very frustrating.
Hi Jim, I haven’t calibrated my checker before, can’t help with that sorry.
Do you recommend the Hannah tester vs Salifert? Have you tried any other testing kits? Thanks for the information, love your channel.

You should introduce no3 to lower po4....
Raise No3 and Po4 should drop
Not that you’re selling Hanna kits lol 😂
Tell me about it😃these reef companies get so much free advertising! They know it too. Very rare you’ll see a paid promotion from any of these guys. 🤪

Kind of a lot of work for a single test.
I don’t remember the details of the vid. EnVision? I was probably just trying to show how you can lower phosphates? 😊
