Elderflower tips. I make this each year. Last time I had no lemons, so I used oranges, delicious. You need to make it in the next two weeks, once the blossom starts to turn then the cordial it makes is not very nice. You can tell if the blossom is turning as it smells like cat wee. To strain it use muslin or even an old tea towel that way you can squeeze more out.( very sticky). Add a slice of cucumber to the drink. Keep bottles refrigerated. Enjoy 😊😊😊❤
Loved seeing the horses and the estate the roses and the soon to be 4 bedroom remodel.I loved the faux floral arrangement it reminded me of a still life painting but what I loved mostly about the arrangement was that you used your grandmother's roses they were beautiful. Darling Leonora, it's such a pleasure to watch you with your doggies and horses. There is so much joy and kindness in this moments!
Can you imagine i've never tasted elderflower cordial in my live!😁 But i have an excuse i am Russian! I drink Champagne, wine, Cognac and very occasionally vodka. This days i don't drink alcohol every day, hence i'll try the elderflower mocktail! Elderflowers are plentiful here when in season, which will be a bit later.

Leonora Thought of you & Alex Coll during the past week on hearing the news of the event rider Georgie Campbell passing away following an accident at the Bicton Horse Trials. I feel we do not always appreciate how dangerous any sport involving a horse is & that those riders, at whatever level they participate, have to be so skilled, strong & fearless. Your Epsom outfit was one of your best - the hat - wow! Not a fan of The Mailonline, but you & Mark were most defiantly a standout couple.

The elderberry corial looks great! Last summer i made lemon verbena corial. It turned out fantastic. I love doing things of this nature. ❤🎉

I make elderflower cordial every year and love it and put lime or lemon in it. It does not last long in flower so have approx a month of it. Keep it in the fridge and it is so lovely and special. I just add boiling water and leave it to seep no need to boil or simmer.

I genuinely feel such a connection with you Leonora. So much of the things you enjoy doing I love doing too. I also enjoy fresh flower arranging and was only saying to myself today I can't keep affording to buy fresh flowers. I don't know why I never thought of silk flowers. Your silk flower display was so stunning that I am now going onto the ochre website to purchase these . Like you if theres isn't any special occasion then silk can do.

Another cheerful vlog that shows off your wonderful creativity. The silk floral arrangement is gorgeous and so summery. My Mom used to make a Grand Marnier or Triple Sec knock-off that was as easy as your Elderflower cordial - a bottle of vodka, sugar syrup and the rind of oranges all left to steep for a couple of weeks before straining.

Eeeeeeek, yes please to the bottle of elderflower cordial! We live about half an hour away and my husband had his 60th birthday party at your fab local pub. I love changing silk arrangements through the seasons, have you seen Homemade Handmade? She does gorgeous seasonal silk wreaths, garlands etc.

I would say the white flowers are lavatera. Or could be philadelphus which I love - orange blossom and the scent of the real stuff is divine - I have just picked some for my pewter pot in front of me as I love white flowers. Leonora, the white flower you didn’t know the name is My Hometown Flower is the "Dogwood flower" My hometown is Fayetteville North Carolina. USA.
Yes, it is the amazing American Dogwood. It is supposed to tell the Easter story. In April I drove from Kentucky to Charleston SC. We took the back roads through the Appalachian Mountain. Driving down the North Carolina hills were full of pink and white Dogwood. Coming home the Rhododendron were in full display. What a travel gift. Today’s blog was delightful. Recently I found Fever-tree makes Eilderflower Tonic. Which have have been added to my Rhubarb Gin and Tonic with Line. All in all a divine drink. I think I will fix one now… Cheers my dear🍸
I am from Virginia and the Dogwood is our state flower! Beautiful isn't it.
I LOVE seeing the horses! We moved to our cottage a year ago from Kentucky. The owners divided the land and left a horse to the people on the other half of the land that don’t live here (there’s no house, they come maybe 1x every 2 months). Romeo, a painted quarter horse, was SO SKINNY, you could see every rib and hip bones, not well cared for, lonely with cracked hooves and all. Bless him. He also came from Kentucky! Since we moved in he has been SO SPOILED with sweet feed, alfalfa hay, carrots and apples and all the other delights. We’ve also tortured him with fly spray, which he doesn’t care for but is much happier when it’s all said and done, and a winter blanket 😂 we never could actually get it on him. He has no barn or shelter so we worry about him. We are so happy we get to spend time with our sweet Romeo and I think he’s pretty happy we came along too. 💛 the vet said he’s about 15 💛 and that he should not gain anymore weight😂 we had to cool it on the sweet feed. Your girls are gorgeous! I think Romeo would agree 😊
