You can see just how happy and excited he was to perform... being his first single on his first solo album.. he could barely keep that big beautiful smile under control. At the end of it, you can tell he was just happy to get through the song. hahaha. Perfect beautiful man.
the drummer's name is sarah and she is a BEAST. she was with him all the way through the end of his most recent tour, which ended july of 2023, and it's not entirely clear if she'll be back bc she and her husband (mitch, one of the guitarists!) have started a family. if they have indeed decided to go their own way, they will be so very missed. ps. you should check out his performance of SOTT from the concerts at wembley stadium during love on tour. he did shows there both in 2022 and in 2023, and both years it started to rain WHILE HE WAS SINGING THIS SONG and he was completely overwhelmed and ecstatic, with the gigantic crowd going insane all around him. it's truly glorious to see.
We need to keep going with Harry. It's not even the best performance of that song! You need to compare it to the one he gives live on the Late Late Show... he's wearing a gorgeous darkish suit.. also there are 3 guitars playing..LOL.. .. it's just so awesome! It takes my breath away...
Oh sweet baby faced Harry. This was only the second time he performed this live. It was right after his performance on SNL, which he flubbed a bit and didn’t hit those big notes at the end. He sounds great here but you can hear him straining so hard to make it through. He’s never sung it fully like this live again. There are better live versions of both his vocals and the band but this one seems to be the fan favorite. The tone of his voice is what you’re talking about. It’s so rich and deep and there’s a hint of rasp. I’ve seen him live 6 times and he sounds beautiful..what you can hear over the screaming 😂 If you listen to the BBC Live version of Sign of the Times, the minute he starts singing it hits you in the gut. It’s not as flashy but his tone is exquisite

It was so straining on his voice. Yes! You’re right this was his first solo single his first solo album HS1. It should have won a Grammy! It is an anthem for the ages. Please do more Harry Styles ! Sarah, The drummer, was up for drummer of the year two years ago! She’s married to Mitch the bass player. They had their second child towards the end of Harry’s last tour. and Mitch dropped his own album about six months ago. For his last tour that lasted two years he had both other guitar players as well. Always here for Harry.
You have to remember that all 5 members of One Direction were solo artists put together. They are all incredibly talented. You can hear more of Harry’s voice now in the last 2 albums of One Direction
