This was so cool to watch. My Father,God Rest, was an engineer on the Reading , Pennsylvania, Septa,& Con Rail for 50 years. I used to love it when her drove the Steam Engine through our town in Lansdale PA. I am 64 now and that seems like forever ago since I road up front with him, shhhh I wasn't supposed to say that! Come To PA ! Though it's not the lottery, you are one lucky person: You have Two Bee Lines Straight to Lancaster! You can either travel 436 miles on US 22 N for 6½ hours OR 429 miles on US 29 N for 6½ hours. 611 is in PA until October then you can see it in Virginia after that which is much closer, 2¾ hours 150 miles on US 29. 🚂 Safe Travels!
Hi from Green Bay, Go Packers!! Lol!! I hope 611 goes around Horse Shoe Curve, plus as a helper they could Reading 2102. WOW!!! 2 Massive and historic 4-8-4, working together. Or maybe CandO 614, so they could both burn Pocahontas coal.
@@shorelinerailproductions hi Shoreline, but remember the old saying, "Never say Never", because None of the steamers were even supposed to run ever again! Just rust away to oblivion sitting outside at a museum. Hey, that means there is even a chance for Big Boy 4014 to run on Horseshoe curve. Plus have the brand new replica of PRR 5550, T1 class 4-4-4-4 run a double header with Big Boy. Plus I can imagine if PRR built their own copy of Big Boy, at the Shops of Juniata and Altoona, with a Belpaire firebox. Lol!! Wow!! Kool!!
It’s not going to happen. 2102 is still on journals. It’s just a pipe dream. 4014 has a slim chance of coming east. It’s the UP’s baby, and they are going to milk it. NS has canceled everything steam, and the 611 has a unique in with them to be moved. No steam service to be seen under current leadership. Oh, and I am going to to say never..... because I know from the inside!
Was reading about Strasburg taking 475 to Harrisburg to film it in the Thomas The Train movie where it was temporarily made to look like a different locomotive ~ and wondered how they drove it there, being a short service rail and all, how / where did it get on the main line? . . . then this was found and it answers my questions so I don't have to hit up anyone for the info. Glad you all survived that storm and Very Glad to see your footage. Wonderful!! Now we'll have to see if the farewell (for the time being) return trip is covered. ~ Take Care
@@railroaderdavis2692 no. I live in Southern Ohio about an hour N from Ashland ky. It takes 2hrs 50min to get to clarksburg wva I'm not sure how far it is to Strasburg

Nice! I was onboard the Keystone train at the beginning.
I rode the 611 from Newport Kentucky to Knoxville Tennessee 30 years ago and it was one of the best experiences I've had in my life.
Got to see 611 in York Haven PA on Wednesday morning
Nice I can't even see heat waves coming out of the NS locomotive.
This is exciting! I wish I had been there!
My wife and I saw the 611 when it came to Greensboro, NC. I have a model of it. Sure would love to see it again

Wonderful videos of the trains!
Do you love them? :3
It was very yucky that day. I heard there was a tornado warning in Lancaster County by the time 611 got to East Strasburg.
I wish it would come to Southern Ohio I'd love to see it in person
You may have to travel to see it

I heard tales of NW shopped in and here it is! Stars & glory, THANKS VETERANS..GOD BLESS The UNITED STATES Of AMERICA!
Epic stuff! Use headphones as commenter below says. Amazing.👍👍😎🇺🇸
I'm wondering why did the NS unit stay on the mainline for? Is there no siding for it to stay on or are there none on the NEC?
Because they were done and we’re going back to the yard, why would they leave a perfectly good working engine on someone else’s railroad till October?
And its the keystone

I wish they would bring the 611 to Steamtown National Historical Park someday. Norfolk Southern owns 90 % of the track by Steamtown
@Maxwell DiNovo why, the 611 always goes to Strasburg
Where does she go from Strasburg? What is her next destintion?
From what I understand, back home to the Virginia Museum it was on loan from.
How long is she staying ?
Until October 3rd

611 arrives in Paradise. That implies Strasberg is 'beyond' Paradise
And in many ways it is.
