👍👍👍 Saw her in the West End in this musical in 1975. Next time we saw her was in her farewell tour in Manchester last month. How fortunate we were!

She is superb. One of the finest female vocalist this country has ever produced. This was the show that made her a star and took her from folk clubs to pop stardom. Scotland should be proud!!!

I class myself as a lucky guy having watched Barbara on the folk circuit to JPGR and Bert, to Blood Brothers and Evita. Fab voice. Thanks Willy Russell.

I remember seeing this play at the Liverpool Everyman in the 1970s. No 4 guys could have sung Beatles songs like the Beatles so it was a great idea to have them sung by Barbara Dickson who came from a folk tradition I believe. She brought a whole new interesting dimension to the music..

I loved this show and agree with Helen Trope. When this play first appeared it would have been impossible to get four guys to sing "like The Beatles" (unlike today with countless tribute bands) but the contrast with having Barbara singing to her own piano backing was a superb idea. She sang them very well without trying to copy the originals and it was a perfect compliment to the play.

I did not see the show at The Everyman but I think it had a second run at The Playhouse Theatre, Liverpool, and I cannot now remeber if Barbara dickson was in that show then BUT stumbling across this has reminded me of those nights at the original Liverpool Everyman - we saw some great plays and musicals there in the mid 1970s - it feels like a different life.
