I’ve been all over the West, I’ve been to the South Island of New Zealand and seen beautiful and stunning landscapes. But there’s nothing like the Adirondacks. Spent my childhood summers at Schroon at the cabin my grandpa built by himself. Now I live in a bus and travel there each year with my wife. God created this wilderness with a uniqueness I can’t describe. This place has shaped me to who I am today and who I want to be.
I'm from Glens Falls just south of Lake George NY. Love what you said, New Zealand is on my bucket list and love the positive feedback to my backyard growing up. ADK ❤️
I watched this video before I met you and it made me cry. I watch this video after I met you and it made me cry. I cry when I’m not even watching this video. Basically what I’m trying to say is your video is beautiful and it’s worthy of making a grown man cry
Thank you for the wonderful film. I have watched it 5 times already and had treas in my eyes every time. I spent 44 years to complete the gaol on Grat.
"I must be today what i want to be tomorrow. I can't keep living in the tomorrow because tomorrow is never here, it is always the present. I take this journey as a way to deepen my passion, and to grow closer to the one who made me and these mountains" - damn, you have uprooted my entire life logic that I now realize is only procrastination, and I thank you for it
Just completed my first out of 46 on Saturday.. i hiked to the top of cascade with my dog.. it was such a surreal experience I cried when I got back to the car bc I’ve been dreaming of climbing a mountain over 4k ft for 2 years I’m not in the best shape & have been smoking cigs for years & used to abuse drugs & my addiction to the mountains has changed my life & it all started with my first trip to the high peaks last year since then I’ve done nothing but wonder about the tops of those mountains.. congrats for somebody who’s new to hiking this is the type of shit that drives me anybody can do it if they put their mind to it
On #41 and this is the best video I've ever seen on the Adirondack mountains, absolute masterpiece! It's hard to put into words what those mountains mean to me and you did a fantastic job!
Thanks so much for sharing your journey. I became a 46er with 2 great friends and it changed our lives and solidified a commitment to each other that will last a lifetime. I'm going to share your video with my kids and hope it inspires them to do the same.
Hi. I found your street and nye video while sitting at my work desk, dreaming of my next 46r hike this weekend. And now I've binged your videos and they are great. Seeing someone around my age conquer this and with your humor and grit these videos made my day better. Just wanted to say thanks! (:
Awesome video! I am finishing my last two New England !00 Highests in Northern Maine in a couple weeks. I am hoping to begin the 46-ers this summer. This vide was an inspiration.
Well done guys. I need that as a fellow 46er. It can get pretty crazy out there with that ADK wind and rain. Did some overnighting during winter month’s, getting soaked threw and “ dying slowly” for me was definitely a trip too. (don’t sweat in the winter it can be a killer.)
Jonathan, beautiful film! I've been searching for something that captures the adirondacks, and you've done it! congratulations on the 46 We were camping for three weeks up there, hiking & experiencing the bautiful people that come by :)
Thanks for the inspiration man! Me and my best friend used your videos as motivation. We’re currently at 2 lol. But we have big plans ahead - we can definitely attribute some of those to you.
Awesome man...i live in Mass and always go to the white mountains...but as of late the Adirondacks calling my name..great accomplishment amd hike on brother!
This is absolutely beautiful! I have always struggled to put into words why these mountains mean so much to me, but you said it perfectly that sums it up "...to grow closer to the one who made me and these mountains." Thank you for your videos! I hope to run into you when I'm in Lake Placid.
Holy crap you are the best RUclipsr out there I am so inspired by you. I live in London but I come out here in the summer, fall and the winter.I have only done 20 high peaks. Before I started watching your videos I didn’t think about being a photographer but know I want to be exactly like you. Carry on because you are doing things that I like and others like . Well done
What an inspiring journey. I was hired for the ADK MT Club LOJ crew for this summer. I am going to start my 46er journey. I have hiked Wright Mountian, but it was a rough first experience, in April.
Congratulations! It has been exciting watching your journey over all these vlogs. And....wow, what an awesome intro. Makes me eager to get back up to the 'Dacks.
Wow! Great footage...and Congratulations! The mountains have a way of clearing the mind...there is no better feeling...no better teacher. Thank you for sharing your journey! 46er #3982
You do such great videos! You are so inspiring in your narration and photography... and you're cute too! I've spent time in the Adirondacks and really enjoy these videos. Thanks Jonathan.
Wow great video loved watching it. Just finish my 40th peak , 6 to go, I am starting to be reluctant on finishing as I don’t want this great adventure to end.
Great videos. Really enjoyed following your inspiring journey. Would love to see the entire Esther and Whiteface climbs in a separate post. Congratulations on reaching #46!
So awesome!! I've been following right along since the very beginning both here and on instagram. Really cool to be able to watch your entire journey as you've completed each of the peaks. I'm a little over halfway myself and plan to do Esther and Whiteface as #45 & 46 (as it just so happens). Congratulations Jonathan!!
Wow! Awesome video! Thank you so much for sharing your journey with us. I just started my journey to be a 46er! I've done 5, and will have 8 by the end of the week (Wright, Algonquin, Iroquois). Like you, I think I will do Whiteface last because it would serve as a sweet reward!
There is a great boulder next to round pond, that you can sleep on, it's perfectly flat on top. I haven't done all 46 and after doing saddleback with out any views I lost interest, however that was in the 1980s. I am 62 now and would love to complete all of them.
I did the entire Dix range 10 years ago- not bragging, but bringing it up cause I LOVE it. Xen. Silence. Is there a permit system now? There should be.
Dude this video is fuckin beautiful I’ve been hiking the Catskills since I was little kid I’m 30 now and just last year I started going up to lake placid and became obsessed with the Adirondacks I started my 46er journey this may and I’m currently on 30 sitting here in bed watching this had me so hyped and ready for my next one truly an epic video man loved it 🍻🍻🍻

@@JonathanZaharek three I haven't done yet! I'm saving marcys as my 46th, white face was my second via marble mtn. Thanks for all the great vids, keep up the good work!
I'm on 13. Only 33 more. These mountain are unapologetically awfully and, will beat you down but, every step you might hurt but, at the end it's worth it no matter what the view
Hi! I hope to go to the adidrondacks one day but I have a question and I was hoping you might be able to help me! How many days does it take to reach Indian head mountain and how long did it take you through that path to reach the beautiful sight of all the mountains? (The first sight while you where walking)
Indian head takes about 2 hours to get to one way via the Ausable Club route. Nippletop mountain also takes about 4 hours one way and is very strenuous!
Eric Sydor Good Eye! That was actually a vlog that I never published. It was about the time where I pulled an all nighter to watch the sunrise on haystack, but ended up orphaning both mountains and hiking back to my car without doing any mountain. 18.5 miles in vain
“...to grow closer to the one who made me and these mountains...”Amen brother, it’s the same reason I climb!
Amen indeed!

inspiring af bro.
What does it mean to 'orphan' a mountain? Do the hike but skip the summit?
Nicole D'Orazio Correct. Specifically when it is in a range with other mountains
@@JonathanZaharek thank you Jonathan!

You should do Everest, honestly
this... this is what the people want!
5:22 what hike is that?
NIPPLETOP WAS ME AND MY FRIENDS FIRST HIGH PEAK !!!
Im watching this to get more hype about starting the high peaks in the morning. Im already hype but more hype cant hurt right?
My grandson loves high peaks and he want's to become a adirondack 46er like me and his uncle

Indian head takes about 2 hours to get to one way via the Ausable Club route. Nippletop mountain also takes about 4 hours one way and is very strenuous!
What editing software do you use if you use one
The Adirondacks are my soul.
What vlog is 8:18 from? I never saw it on the channel.
Eric Sydor Good Eye! That was actually a vlog that I never published. It was about the time where I pulled an all nighter to watch the sunrise on haystack, but ended up orphaning both mountains and hiking back to my car without doing any mountain. 18.5 miles in vain
Is it a bad idea to try to do saw teeth then back track to hay stack and, sky light?
billy no I’m not even sure how that would make sense
I was going to go up rainbow falls to saw teeth, then go down to haystack then, to 4 corners
How do they know you climb them tho?
7:06....that part of the trail was so sketchy lol. i did not enjoy running into that
