The three "Jeux d'Enfants" pieces ("Escarpolette" especially) are rather lovely, I think. Chang Hae-Won proves to be a first-class soloist with these performances.
Max Merry -- Yes....lovely...as are the Pierné pieces shared by Prof. Rodders earlier today. Like Arensky's 2 or 3 "forgotten" solo piano opera [plural of opus], these jewels emerge seldom and by happenstance...but when they do...Unforgettable!
Thank you so much for sharing these gems. Is that the composer in the picture by chance? His 3 Pieces for organ (including another Scherzando de concert) have won my undying loyalty, but searching him in YT only brings up his serious things in minor keys. (For me, anyway!)
@scronx I have little knowledge of art, but that painting is Caillebotte's "Jeune homme au piano". My Pierne playlist is at ruclips.net/p/PLHxzuXilW2AKytc8tI5gTsX-XVGQFzpyy
@@RoddersClassical It looks like him. Got your playlist playing! I love and champion the more overlooked masters in any of the sane musical ages -- am exploring the Boulangers, Tailleferre and Roger-Ducasse now too.
