I watched Northman when this was in it's final stage of production. I was aware Eggers is making a viking thing and I am big on the Lighthouse but this was inspired by a comment on the Milkshake (TheAsylumCat subscriber) so the only parts directly influenced by The Northman are Valkyries and the spear wielding berserker. Oh and the ghost seal but because Eggers mentions a saga with a ghost seal in an interview.

There I was, fuckin' about with the 360 nonsense, having a great time and then there was a goddamn modern ass battle ship. I don't know why I even expect any less from an AllinAll video like that.

@@stoffer2132 F361 Iver Huitfeldt. Iver Huitfeldt went down with his ship in the great northern war i.e. sweden vs russia. In current context draw whatever longbow conclusions u want to take from that. But i'd presume the choice of that particular number is intentional and timely.

Thank you! I think this just works as a video game cut scene with a bit of pixel hunting. But I did initially see it used in music vids where it didn't make much sense.
Even as you move away from TESlore, you've still got that awesome command over the same kind of "vibes" which make me love TESlore so much, except that you wield this "command" in a way that grows into your own original vision.

One thing I've really liked about this is how there's 3 distinct soundscapes, basically 3 different interpretations of the song. Grim viking chanting, followed by uplifting chello and boisterous singing, and finally spooky synth as we ascend to valhalla.

This is incredible. The druid banging the girl over the side of the ship, and the Valkyrie at the end were highlights. Loved listinging to it while I spun around my room holding my phone like I just did a bunch of mushrooms
vikings didn't have druids, the druids were celtic and predated the vikings, not sure what this guy is

I came into this laughing at the concept of this track being done in this style. By the third time going through it you don't even make the connection between the original song anymore, it really does become it's own experience, best use of the 360 mode I've seen so far which used to be Gorrilaz Saturnz Barz but this just feels like the imagery and passion behind the music style and animation and just trying to find different things happening is such an amazing way to present a music video. Make the viewer feel smaller and smaller as shit gets crazier and crazier all around them, I love it.
Damn. Thank you very much! And I forgot about Saturn Barz completely (RtJ Crown was the one my mind would go to with 360 mvs but it's not that exciting).
@@AllINAllmusic I had no idea to be honest Crown had a 360 video to go with it. I checked it out along . I can see where some of the inspiration came from especially from the multiple angles and utilizing the above space and skybox's to add all that depth. Keep on making more stuff. I checked out a bunch of your work on THLMR as well and it's truly stunning, everyone involved should be proud of their work and you have a true gift for visual story telling which I adore. You well and truly earned my sub and far beyond.

I really love your idea of taking a mainstream contemporary song's lyrics unchanged and applying it to musical themes of a historical period and still having the two make sense. This and Milkshake are superb and I really hope you do more! One comment talked about Roman Legionaries paired with Sir-Mix-a-Lot which is amazing, and thinking of plausible suggestions really got my brain excited!
It was a lot harder than expected, I could only think of three. Esp. since the more unrelated the song is to the historical context the funnier/better.
1. Michael Jackson's "Don’t Stop ’til You Get Enough" & A Greek soldier sacking Troy after the Trojan Horse.

It's some strange combination of seeing myth brought to life with the comedy of the meme song. I don't even know what other premises could be as interesting? Maybe going through the underworld in Ra's solar barque whilst an equally funny song interpretation is being played.

You sir are becoming such a talented artist and storyteller. I’ve been a silent viewer for a while and it’s to the point where I’m starting to look at your art and animation to to so how I can improve my own. Your music too is really good, I’ve only practicing the guitar for a few months so I’m not at the point where I can start making my own music yet. Keep it up, you’re very talented!
