You will need a couple more dogs. One should be a livestock guardian dog that lives with the sheep/ goats. Hopefully you have a few firearms as well. There are four and two legged predators there. Not sure if you considered a tiny home from a shed. That would be a good start for a homestead. I hope you’re able to locate water so you can dig a couple of wells . I am the last person to bring the race and ethnic origins in the discussion, but we were in Owasso, Tulsa area, 20 years ago, and as a European and African American mixed couple we did not feel welcomed. I am glad to know that minorities manage to buy land and thrive in Oklahoma.

Look into FSA farm operating loans. They have the lowest interest rates and you can get a loan with no down payment. It can be pretty scary, but when you think about it there's danger in everything we do. What makes it scary is the unknown.
Be careful eating something you are familiar with could be dangerous. Looking forward to you learning more about how to film not getting a wide view. Make sure you have weapons on hand for protection. That's a must have. Enjoy your property and blessings as you grow.

Its the beginning of August, in a few weeks the temperarure will dropp fast. Make sure you have a heat source. 3. Make sure you have shelter. For the rest take your time, they did not build Rome in 1 year. It took a while😂😂.

There is a creek that runs through the property that stays full most the time of the year that we will use for our livestock as well as rainwater collection. We plan on getting a water well once we move on the property. 2. In Oklahoma, the growing season ends in October and will start really getting cooler then, and we will have several heat sources. 3. By that time, we will have moved into our shelter that is currently being built and shipped to our land. Right now, our plan is to get the farm established before we build a home on the property.

I am so in love with the idea that you two youngsters are wise enough to be self sufficient. I just wish you had an rv before you put up your fence that way you can be there to watch your stuff. Hopefully no one would touch it. If you purchase an RV, I hope you will purchase a nice used one because these new RVs are made of nothing and they cost so much and the old ones are just the same as the new ones. My husband and I purchased a new RV and the older ones are the exact same. I love the one that I have not expensive at all with the kitchen outside and the bunk area wonderful and that’s what I’m going to put on my farm. I am going to get a farm as well. That’s why I’m so inspired by you guys. That fact that you are getting animals and a garden oh my God you young people just do your thing.
We plan on getting a shed house. Shed houses are pretty cheap as well and we can customize it to off gird living style. We wanted to do it with a camper but it just wasn't the right thing for us.
Even in Tulsa people I know that didn't snake proof their chicken coops got snakes! If you got chickens you got to snake proof it no matter grass or not. They will find them!

It’s so exciting to see people’s dreams become reality. There’s a lot of work that goes into it, no doubt. I’m interested in doing something similar in NC. I’m finding that land is hard to find. I expect Jesus has a plan and will lead me to the right property at the right time. I have hope a property will present within the next 3years.

Thank you! We paid $3,300 per acre. The price can vary so much depending on the location and if there is development on or near the property. Our property is raw, undeveloped land, which makes it cheaper but will take some money getting it set up. Land costs more if there are structures on it or a source of water and electric utilities. And it also costs more the closer you are to major cities. Our land is way out in the country. It's about a 25 min drive to a nearest Walmart. There is a lot of factors in the price of land, but one thing for certain is they aren't making any more land, and the value will go up over time for the most part.

It's not as overwhelming as it may seem. Once we get the perimeter fence up, we plan on using the animals as a tool to manage the land.

Get a Skidger to weed near the fence or short paths. It is manual, and easy to use for small areas.
