I started watching it after 3 seasons were out. This was the episode that truely lived up to the hype. Don't get me wrong I loved the other episodes but with that soundtack and the camera hold showing the trama morty was just delt I knew what they ment.
This is the episode that finally sold me on it. It was wild, smart, and funny before, but traumatized Morty staring into the distance while a Mazzy Star song plays because his whole world is _gone_ is a hardcore science fiction ending.
This has one of my favorite easily missable background jokes early in the epiaode with the principal on the intercom "Now remember the Flu dance is about awareness for the Flu so don't show up if you have the Flu. I mean you don't bring dead babies to passover." It kills me every time i catch it 😂

In case you are wondering: nope, this episode wasn't just written as a joke - the events are actual canon now and there will be callbacks to it. It matters for the rest of the show. Suggestion: add a "OH NOOOOO!"-counter to your future reactions. Rick & Morty earns it. ^^
"How is Rick going to reverse all this?" That's the neat part. He doesn't. I think many fans will agree with me that this episode is where the series really starts. That existential dread on Morty's face is where this series starts to go way up

it's in my opinion the first episode of Rick and Morty where you can see how fucked up it is. Jerry, Beth, Summers, the characters we grow with ( even if it's for 6 episodes, they been left in apocalyptic world ) and the new chracters are actually the same but not the same. this show is almost my age and I just started watching it after finishing this episode im left with realizing how sad this actually is Morty is traumatized from litterly burying himself and they left behind there family and ruined evryones life in the orginal universe. I feel darn bad for Morty

I forgot that this episode was so early in the show. Makes me realize, we barely spent any time at all in that first universe.
The second universe was really the main universe, the start one was just the tutorial stage.
