It’s very simple really. During the ice age sea levels were some 75 mtrs lower than they are now. The entrance to what is now the Mediterranean sea was above the water level as it was then and much of the Mediterranean Basin was dry land. The whole of what are now deserts in North Africa were lush forests and pasture lands in those days and the Ice of what is known as the Ice Age ran from northern Britain across the whole of Europe and Asia to as far north as the Pole locking up huge amounts of fresh water. ( When there was a huge flood recently in a remote part of either Greenland or Iceland ( I forget which ) scientists investigated and proved that when fresh water penetrated the ice it heated up causing the ice to melt ). Once the ice had melted sufficiently the water broke though and caused a massive flood. Luckily directly into the ocean. According to Genesis, ( which has nothing to do with religion ) it rained for forty days and forty nights prior to the great flood. The fresh water from that rain penetrated the ice and caused it to melt. Water from that melt combined with the rain flooded the Earth in unimaginable amounts and raised sea levels by enough to entirely flood the Mediterranean Basin and the Black sea area. Around the world the majority of people did, ( and still do ) inhabit areas by seashores and rivers. They were all but destroyed and the few survivors had to begin again. Every Nation in the World has legends of the great flood which took place some twenty thousand years ago.

Possibly, but I trust God and His Word - the Bible. There are many things that have happened that we do not understand. When we die, I believe it will all be made known to us. I say there was a flood, as the Bible says. We may not fully understand how this was possible, but it is enough to trust in God and that He can do anything and would not lie to us.

Sorry man, this isn't it. The boat was found YEARS ago. On a volcano in Turkey. They got people from the US to run ground penetrating radar over the image. The timbers were laid out as well as forged metal rivets that we didn't know existed at this time until now. It was incased in lava ash so it didn't rot out. They dug into it and it had open cavities inside. It's also the exact measurements that are in the bible according to the Egyptian cubit. Not to mention all of the evidence of a world wide flood and that soft tissues are found in dinosaur bones. Soft tissue is widely known not to even last 1 million years let alone 75. All of the fossils are found in pockets encased in mud with no young. Meaning that the young were swept away and drowned before the adults were finally encased in the muddy sediment of the waves that crashed over them. Look at the all of the polystrate fossils (fossilized trees that are still standing) these idiots want us to believe that the trees actually stood long enough for layers of leaf sediment to form around them. As soon as you cover the bark it begins to die. Look out the window, when trees die, the fall over, or are knocked over by the wind. We agree with most secular scholars on most things, but they are extraordinarily wrong on the time line for these events. We agree that the earth was one continent. But, if the plates broke apart during the flood it would cause extreme tsunamis bringing layers of sediment with it. We all know that every time pressure builds up between plates this happens (earthquakes). That's how the rocky mountains were formed. The plates were colliding causing the uplift after all of the sediment was drug across our nation.

The problem with this theory is that bodies of salt water can't become fresh water because the water evaporates and the body of water shrinks. That would actually make the water MORE salty, because salt obviously doesn't evaporate. The salt in the black sea can't just disappear like that. However, what COULD HAVE happened is that the black sea area was originally fresh water with no salt water intake at all, but then a giant perhaps world-wide flood changed the environment and enabled a passage of salt water from the Mediterranean into the Black Sea... Just a thought..

    • @pthomps1954

I believe you are exactly right. Bronze age settlements have been found 80 meters below the present water level of the Black Sea. Marks on the pyramids show the sea reached 130 meters up the side. That is high enough to spill into the Black Sea.

    • @AlanRPaine
      @AlanRPaine 5 месяцев назад

You could have a situation like the Sea of Galilee and the Dead Sea. The Sea of Galilee is below sea level but remains fresh because it drains into the Dead Sea. The Black Sea today is much less salty than the Mediterranean because it has a net outflow.

A bolide of molten sulfur smashed into western Egypt, creating the Qattara Depression, continued on to hit the bottom of the Mediterranean Sea, then smashed into Turkey, leaving an impact site called Anaximander Mountain. The sulfur fumes slid down the mountains to the Nile where it condensed on the cool water as a blood red liquid. Some fumes formed sulfur trioxide which touched the water to form sulfuric acid, killing all the fish. It also reacted with skin moisture and the acid caused boils. When it smashed into Turkey, the flaming sulfur rained down on Sodom and Gomorrah and burned them to the ground. Pools of molten sulfur formed in every depression and burned with thick columns of smoke. The sulfur in the air burned like the sun and extended daylight for another ten hours. To observers it looked like a sun except it stayed in the same position. Water vapor formed by the hot object saturated the atmosphere over a huge area. This would later come back to the sea as relentless rain. The water level rose until it was halfway up the sides of the Great Pyramid. That would be 137 meters above sea level. From the size of the round mark it left on the sea floor, it appeared to be at least 110km in diameter. This flood wiped out the civilizations around the Mediterranean Sea. Those in the mountains survived including the slaves working in Luxor. They fled from Egypt, using the column of smoke to guide them by day and the flames by night. This explains the many strange things written in the Bible including all the plagues. People migrated to the now uninhabited area meeting little resistance from whatever survivors were still there.

That’s an interesting theory. I’m not sure we’ll ever really know. Any time you add “Biblical” you decrease the chance of “Truth” ever being known. So many people get all upset if it counters physical evidence. Also, so much ancient history has been intentionally destroyed leaving gaps of knowledge. If we knew of the flood and it’s effects, we could very well find the truth of Atlantis and other great mysteries. I reckon some do not want that to occur. Combine that with higher sea levels relegating many structures/artifacts underwater finding the “Truth” very difficult indeed.

If you can do that as well as showing all the other instances where metaphor was used to make a point in what became scripture, you can show that a literal global flood didn't have to happen for it to be used as an example of this deity's idea of "grace". As someone in STEM, I just tend to look to the sciences involved and cut out the historical reports of a Bronze Age herding culture. They'd not be too surprising, anyways. Genesis 7:20 says that the waters submerged the world’s highest mountains under 15 cubits of water. That means that flood covered Mount Everest, which is 29,028 feet tall and getting a bit taller every day, with 22 feet of water.
The earth has a radius of 3959 miles. Now we need to know the radius of the flood. That’s the earth radius, plus the height of Everest, plus 15 cubits (22ft). So 3959 miles + 29,028 ft +22 feet = 3959 miles + 29050 feet = 3959 miles + 5.5018939 miles = 3964.5018939 miles
259,923,241,564 miles³ for the volume of the earth.
261,008,408,332 miles³ for the volume of the earth at flood.
So, if we subtract the earth volume from the flood volume, we’ll get the volume of water required to fill that space. That’s how much it would need to rain. That turns out to be 1,085,166,768 miles³of rain.
Now, let’s cut that by 25% because land, mountains, etc. occupy some of that volume. All that space would not be filled with water. The 25% figure is generous since oceans, which by definition sit at sea level, cover 70% of the earth and the rest of the earth isn’t nearly as high as Everest. But let’s grant the creationist this small charity.
That means that there had to be 813,875,076 miles³ of rain for the biblical flood. To put that in perspective, the oceans have about 321,000,000 miles³ of water. All the water on earth only adds up to about 332,500,000 miles³.

@@justdontcryplease4818 sorry friend, the geological evidence is everywhere. Read about the rock layers in the Grand Canyon. Look at fossils: all the plants, animals, insects and what have you were buried immediately. They didn't lay out in the weather for a 1000 years or so, slowly being incased in rock. Let's look at continental drift, we all agree that the continents look like big puzzle pieces and that they all fit together into a single land mass. But it did not take billions of years to move. It was very quick and this is supported by the above mentioned. As well and more importantly; not only is this evidence biblical, but the more evidence we discover, the more that evidence points to a whole world flood and massive tectonic plate movement. Don't take my word for anything but check into it.

Dave Wilby the rock layers in the Grand Canyon were formed over millions of years ago. The world is billions of years old.

Dave Wilby and if god just decided to kill most of the planet off... that’s not nice at all. Same as sending people to hell for ignorance. Not nice. Why couldn’t god get rid of everyone peacefully instead of drowning the poor people/animals???
