      i think it's just that it's rare to see him pushing himself to the limit. this time the people he followed were actually trying to leave him behind and he was trying his best to open a gap on his lead runs. completely different style than tandeming with your friends :D

    • @ClimptonDiddlehopper
      @ClimptonDiddlehopper 6 лет назад +1

      I think it was 3 things. First it was a competition and he was really trying. Second his car was bashed up so pushing the limit was fine since he already had some damage. Third....He is getting better. Between the Japan trips and the grind on this trip he is knowing his car and what it can do and how far he can push. Things will change a bit when he stasrts the missile until he gets ample time and again when Enjuku gets the other car done though his transition from cream to it will be the better match. He can only get better with the amount of time and the quality of drivers he races and drives with. Even some of the Formula D drivers are noticing him and not just being the TJ annoyance but really saying he gets better every time.

    • @blacknsilver_

      Jay Nicoll it's clear as day he slowed down. Kinda looked intentional

    • @beepbeeprichie2545
      @beepbeeprichie2545 6 лет назад +16

      Because he came in so shallow he lost a lot of momentum. When you're going for a entry you want to try and keeping as much momentum so you go out a lot more so you can make it to the next transition. Adam did that, the other driver didn't, it was a mess up on the other guy that Adam paid the price for since the judges can't really tell, they need a overhead cam to record their runs and map them

    • @morgangregory6641

      @MightyWorm3ulegy 6 лет назад +3

      Mew exactly what I was thinking. I think he knew he couldn't keep up with Adam so he took a line to try to trip him up or squeeze him out. If it didn't happen on that corner I'm sure it would have on another. Kinda cheap but also kinda smart move on the other guys part.

      You see the distance keeps steady between the cars and than suddenly it shrinks. There are two reasons for that. 1. The lead car slowed down. 2. The Follow car speeds up super quick. No question what happend there..

    I have been watching alot of you young guys and girls who are not official pros yet, but you're right at the top. You're driving was smooth, consistent and confident. The 15:50 moment was some type of instictive reflex and the ability to stay in it?! Bravo, he let go of the wheel, pulled the brake and downshifted, while in a drift and didn't straighten out. Not sure how many people can pull that off.

    I'm not fanboying or anything, but if you review the footage Adam should have won that one. He did go in shallow and slow down. Not to mention after that hiccup Adam was door to door with him for the rest of the follow run. On the lead run Adam gaped him by at least 5 to 6 cars because he couldn't keep up. Overall Adam had the better follow and lead run and he should of had that one.

    • @brandon_doe

      He had plenty of time to notice the line/angle. Being in chase means you have to adjust accordingly and mimic. Since he didn't do so he came up on him too fast and tapped him. This is just my personal opinion after reviewing it myself tho

    Back in the day here in Australia everyone was running JDM with the odd v8 silvia thrown in and this guy started competing in big V8 holdens and he used to pull that stunt on purpose all the time. He'd wind up to speed then back right off just before initiating into the first turn and just trust his torque advantage to slide the corner. The chasing car would try to initiate like normal but either have to lock up almost stop or spin when they caught up to him. So he would win a lot of his runs just from that and if they didn't fall for it he would just do a slow massive smoke show making sure he hit his clipping points and get handed the win cos the little 4 cylinder privateers didn't have the torque to drift that slow. Anyway a few years later all his stuff got seized cos it was all paid for with drug money hahah.

      Ahdapt Adam should've slowed as well. That's why he's in "chase"

    • @MizBillz
      @MizBillz 6 лет назад +1

      Brandon Doe do you know what a decel zone (deceleration zone) is? Thats the only time you are really allowed to slow down. So its not just up to the chase. If the lead driver slows down in a non decel zone its not the chases fault.

    • @brandon_doe
      @brandon_doe 6 лет назад

      Well I'm 99% sure he was slowing down in the "deccell zone". Then as he started getting back into it he was tapped

    • @brandon_doe
      @brandon_doe 6 лет назад

      I watched it multiple times. Took an outside perspective cause I love these 2 drivers. They're amazing. But I feel as though Adam should've adjusted while shredder was not at proper angle/line. Yes his line was messed up but he didn't stop. He was going fast enough and got back on throttle for Adam to react.

    I don't know if you are trying to be humble. Your drifting is amazing. I like how you commit, stay in it, and the relative smoothness. If I didn't know I would assume that's how you make a living. It's exciting to watch you on the follow laps.

    Dude that one with that red S14 he slowed down wayyyy too much, it was so deliberate. He tried to beat you at THAT game. You went in at the same speed as everyone else’s battle. I’m actually so annoyed at that, i would have protested way harder, judges should have seen he slowed down or purpose versus his other runs. You did well Adam you know your car so well! Showing these guys up ;)

    To be fair, wether you agree or disagree with the judgement, I assume the judges only saw it once and from far away. I bet it's extremely hard to make such a call and they did take some time to call it. In the end, no contact means no contact so they probably couldn't call it any different.
    But Adam totally shoulda won that

    • @chilly1of1

    Man so much good footage. You gotta be proud of that. That second run with you and Trevor.. wow seriously good. Most of the runs with him really. Before you could tell the difference between you two but you most certainly caught up to him. But you gotta give it to the man though, you've been doing it for the last 4-5 days and he comes in with it still dusty from storage and instantly shreds it. Well other than the spin out but still. Just cool seeing you guys drive so well together.

    I love shredder but that should’ve gone one more time. the first half of your chase was questionable and the second half was amazing where as his first half was great but he wasn’t even chasing really in the second half

    Even if it was Adam's fault (although i think it wasn't) he followed close to the other car the rest of the first corner and was on the other driver's door for the rest of the course.
    The 2nd driver on his follow run was nowhere near that close to Adam for half the course and for the other half he had completely lost Adam.I am so confused.I mean everyone is focused on the accident and we forget what happened for the majority of the first run and on the second run.
