The "Troll Toll" singing scene is hilarious, but it needs a lot of context.

It's such a great show.
it's just that they are doing different schemes every episode so it almost seems like a different show every time. but there are overarching themes like Dee always wants to be an actress, Mac wants to be seen as a badass, Charlie is in love with the Waitress, Dennis is a womanizer and Frank was an unscrupulous business man. and there are recurring characters like the Waitress, Rickety Cricket or the McPoyle Brothers who show up throughout the seasons. definitely worth a watch!
Danny should've won an Emmy for that scene with the shrink.

The episodes and characters are connected, they just take us on a wild ride.
The line in is "You got to pay the troll toll to get get into that boy's soul." But Frank always made it sound like like "Boy's hole."

This is my favorite show haha. I'm 35 and i've been watching since season 1 aired when I was in high school. I can rewatch this on repeat and it never gets old. I was literally re-watching Seasons 6-9 yesterday 😂 You need it in your life, Kabir!

There is continuity, it isn't a sketch show
Always Sunny is like Seinfeld meets South Park.
They're continuous as in they refer to previous events, but it's mostly episodic. It's a sitcom.
This is 1 of the top 10 comedy shows of All Time... in my humble opinion
it's so funny hearing you try and describe the ridiculous sofa scene. words can never do it justice LOL
You have to react to the show. I need more people reacting to it, its not on enough peoples radar.
Definitely react to the series, and watch your subscribers skyrocket.
Without spoiling too much... Frank is rich and funds the 'gang' and all of their crazy schemes.
So every episode they're hatching crazy plans that put them in insane situations.
You will have to wait a little bit until Frank gets introduced to the cast; but not too long.
You should definitely watch this show! If you do, I will be there to watch it. 🙂

Out of context it is funny BUT you have to watch each and every episode to fully appreciate the comedic brillance!
There is continuity in the show. It's all connected. Nothing like Black Mirror. All actors play the same character throughout the series.

To answer your question, there's definitely continuity, but also each episode is kind of also stand-alone, meaning that they are a force to be reckoned with in and of themselves. There are a few ones who have a tighter bond to one another, usually in close succession, but yeah. Kind of brilliant writing, actually

It is a mix. There is LOTS of continuity in the series. Lots. But no, it isn't one long series arc/storyline like a breaking bad or something. And it isn't a season based long arc storyline like a Dexter or something. It's like your standard sitcom in the episodic sense, but I would say way more continuity than other sitcoms I am familiar with.
I wish they would’ve included the scene from the restaurant. That’s one of Franks best moments
Oh no there's definitely continuity, with huge pay offs for dedicated watchers.
The episodes in this show are self contained but there is bleed over from episode to episode. Its not even close to being as self contained as black mirror. There's recurring themes, characters and jokes. There are a few two episode episode arcs as well. Its brilliant, well worth reacting to.
The De-Evolution of Cricket is one of the best character arcs in TV. Prove me wrong.

Dennis is by far the craziest
They're all funny but Frank, Charlie and Dee are the best.
That’s really interesting because I agree they’re all funny but think Mac and Dennis are the funniest of the main characters. (Cricket, the Mcpoyoles, and Z being the funniest of the side characters)
I love when Charlie and Dee swap places and Dee has to eat cat food before sleeping lmfao.
@@80081355318008 You and Kimberly are both right. Depending on the episode, at some point i have thought that about of all of them. It's the perfect chemistry of all of them that makes this show work!
And you had to have forgotten how awesome Artemis is. Specifically in "Charlie has Cancer" (Coyote Ugly scene) and "Who Pooped the Bed" as she uses her deductive reasoning to figure it out, but even better is when she, Dee and the waitress are picking up guys at the bar mentioning certain bleach treatments!
Truly, every person on this show fits perfectly into their role. The casting is absolute perfection!
In the beauty pageant episode he agreed to organise a beauty pageant but didn’t know it was a kids pageant and someone got arrested for “diddling kids” and he got freaked out by it
You should watch whole episodes.. the show makes a lot of sense if you know what's going on.. This is my favorite show of all time, give it a whirl

The members of the gang will convince themselves they are fit to do any type of job if they suddenly have reason for doing it, always to f*ck it up by the end rather predictably. They run a bar together, an absolutely terrible bar prone to the odd accidental run of good business, which they will f*ck up of course whenever they get bored or interested in something else, usually an episode will have 2 or 3 characters do side things together and then the other remaining characters do stuff together, or they'll split things up with guest characters and make 3 or 4 concurrent stories that all eventually flow into the overarching narrative of the episode. 10/10, genuinely

It's not an anthology series but every episode is somewhat self contained as in it is more Character driven than story driven. it function as a normal sitcom, only the characters are horrible people.
The "anti-Friends", just taken to the extreme cause they're on cable.

Danny DeVito doesn't actually show up until season 2. Do yourself a favor and don't read the episode titles before you watch, because they are often part of a joke to go with the cold opening.

Season 1 was a little hard for me to get through but it eventually finds its footing and now I love the show.
Here's what you need to know about the show:
(1) The show is about five degenerates who own a bar in downtown Philadelphia. They spend their days yelling and backstabbing each other and essentially accomplish nothing.
(2) Most of the episodes are "contained". But some seasons follow story continuations.
(3) Sunny is a social satire about the dark side of humanity. The characters represents society's worst instincts and hit on pretty much every single topical issues you can think of.
(4) Danny Devito is not in the first season. The quality of the show gets better and better, as they allow "the gang" (what they call themselves) to get more outlandish and cruel.
(5) The audience is in on the joke. The moral of the episodes are the polar opposite of the character's morals. That's essentially the joke.
you must watch the show. you will not be sorry. 🙂

This show is not like Black Mirror with stand alone ep. The way this shows connections stories is one of the best parts about this show. Things from S1 can come play out in S6 and so forth.
There are some long running themes, but for the most part every episode is a new scheme or situation showcasing how despicable and self centered the gang is. It’s like the opposite of Friends or a more extreme Seinfeld

You do need to watch the show in order to get the most out of the jokes and storylines.
I love Frank - something about a very wealthy and successful business man CHOOSING to live in squalor and lead a disgusting degenerate lifestyle is really a hilarious premise.
The part where Frank gets the makeup from the funeral home is funny but it wouldn't work that way. Funeral home make-up is made to be put on bodies that no longer have blood circulation and body warmth.
Each episode is its own thing
The first season is The Gang without Frank. He comes in in season 2. So it's worth doing at least an episode with Frank as well as the first episode.
It's a mix of self-contained and long, LONG term character arcs.

Devito is a sellout. This is disappointing. Doesn’t this man have enough money already?!
DeVito did the show to have fun and be part of one of the top sitcoms of all time. Enjoying your work isn't selling out.
To give you some background, he joined S2 because the network told them after S1 they needed a big name to keep going. DeVito's daughter was a huge fan of the show, so when he was pitched the idea, he was completely on board.
Watch some of their interviews and you'll see they are doing this for the love of creativity.
Admittedly, I watched a single episode around S3 and just didn't get it. Around 2015 I watched a couple of episodes just because I had the TV on FX and it happened to come on after something i was watching. After watching 2 or 3 back-to-back, I finally understood the tone. Since then, I've watched the complete series dozens of times and can say without hesitation that this is my favorite comedy of all time. I truly can't imagine another show ever having the perfect chemistry that's happening here.
