Director Justin Lin and stunt coordinator Andy Gill explained how they made one car swing off a cliff, other cars look magnetized, and how they got a 26-ton, three-section truck to drive upside down. "F9" is now in theaters.

After fast 5 they basically turned into Avengers.
The series went from movies about realistic street car racing to sci-fi movies about espionage that are car-related and have unrealistic physics.
F9 is basically the same to The Fast and the Furious as Cars 2 is to Cars 1.

I love how the general public thinks that when it's done practically, they assume that there is little to no CG. In reality, every shot is still filled with CG and VFX.
Yes there will be cg for making look good and better and clean but atleast those people who says FF action scene are not paussible in real life but the director make it do in real life for that thing I like FF series except one or two over the top action scene

I love how Tej actually argued that physics was a major factor in this film.
It's crazy to me that they chose to actually do these stunts in real life rather than just using CG. Soooo much more planning and carnage cleanup the way they decided to film this movie.
Because theyre geetting paid.
I think the part where Dom swung his car around the cliff was CGI, because there's no way a tiny cable would hold a 2,500 pound muscle car irl imo

That's one thing about this franchise, they use practical effects as much as possible! It's amazing on how the stunts are created and used in the movie!

Nolan is known for avoiding CGI like the plague (for good or worse). Unless it's totally outside the realm of possibilities (think folding streets in Inception), when you talk about a Nolan movie, it's basically all real.
Cgi is great when it looks real, but at the same time we didn't know its cgi so people think every cgi is bad.

@@flybeep1661 Oh no, the behind-the-scenes docs like to *describe* Nolan as avoiding CG, be it's quite the opposite. Even the aircrash in Tenet is full of CGI. They just don't brag about it and it's so good you don't notice. Now, we can argue Nolan is among the best to *use* CGI, because it's so invisible.

FF stunts are underrated most of the people think everything is CGI/ VFX
they're not underrated, they're overplayed. When your whole movie relies on stunts instead of story there will always be a point where its never going to be enough....its gotten out of hand.

Using toy cars to figure out stunt scenes is a method that stunt coordinators have used since the 1970s.
So much attention to detail and hard work goes into these movies, gotta respect it 👏👏👏

Andy Gill actually put Tyrese Gibson and Ludacris in a Fiero strapped to a rocket and flew them into space. Because they had no actual way of getting back to earth, Justin Lin had to hire doppelgängers to do the rest of the filming. As of right now, Ludacris and Tyrese Gibson are still floating in deep space.

When a two ton car with a magnet attracts a seven ton van, it will still be the car being pulled towards the van, not the other way around.
If thats your hang up you’d probably get very upset at the whole movie.
That's the least idiotic issue with the scene. If you have a magnet powerful enough to pull several tons of metal THROUGH a building, you probably don't want to be near it because you're 100% going to be reverse-shrapnel'd. Assuming, of course, that the magnetic field itself isn't actually powerful enough to kill you on it's own....
The deleted space scene shows the 2 dark actors saying the earth is flat. Then the producers decide to cut it out.

Makes feel comfortable collecting my toy cars. Nice to see practical effects being used. The story was over the top after going through lock down stuff seeing it was a nice escape.
@coreys trainbox me too. I can afford cars that otherwise most people would never have (ans in some cases enjoy them more the people owning the real ones). Keep it up but do not get to the point of buying everything!! Buy what you enjoy and like.
