I'm super late to the party, but I just had to comment. That swim was hands down the most metal thing I've seen in a shoe review. Thanks for making me smile, Andrew!
Never had a pair of Vibram. These are intriguing and I would love to win these. Sprints on the beach and hitting the trails in Suffolk County would be a nice place for this pair to live. Keep your awesome videos coming.
Interesting, especially the all black ones, very barefoot ninja-ish, absolutely a great beach shoe. Well demonstrated by your polar plunge, haha, thanks for that. Sounds like it was a good day in the wild.
The black one's were too big but I didn't think to ask for black's again in the smaller size, and now I'm stuck with the white's. Suffice it to say, they are the most blatantly barefoot shoes I own, ha!
@@AndrewFolts, are the black ones larger than our normal 43's meaning they're too long and your toes come out of their homes, or do you mean too wide? Curious as I've always thought it'd be tough to size for the VFF's, although I'm still intrigued and interested in them.
I noticed the M44 on the bottom when you were bending them. I was curious if you could use a back of heel pad to compensate for any length issues with VFF sizing.
@@Gman1024 Too long, yea. Their other shoes have been true to size, although I often you can get away with a size down, because the toe rubber flexes forward and you want them snugger than normal shoes.
I really like the idea of these but I hate getting wet feet as the forest water is brown and I get black toenails and I hate that! So it puts me off trying them .. wish they would do a waterproof pair 🙏
Yea, they won't keep water out, but they do seem to filter it and prevent the mud from soaking through like other shoes. We can keep hoping for WP, ha.
These are def the closest they've come, but yea, not WP. I talked to the rep and he said they keep trying new ideas each year, but the problem is that WP materials are thick and/or stiff, which is a real problem for toe shoes.
@@AndrewFolts they’d need some kind of WP coating on top but then that would reduce durability with fabric overlay. The V-Trek Insulated model has a reinforced membrane in between the toe pockets but it doesn’t extend far enough up the toes. Probably because as you point out it would stiffen them. I’m sure one day they’ll come up with something! 🤓
Yes, I too would love reviews of this brand. I almost bought a pair of their new shoes but wasn't sure if the width was adequate. I contacted the company inquiring this, however they did not provide the information.
#vibramfivefingers I was just looking for sleek five finger barefoot shoes last night as I'm trying to get walking again in my next step of rehabilitation after spending nine months bed ridden and house bound after my health crash in March of 2023. I can sit up again, still struggling to leave the house yet working through it. Great work on your videos as always.
Oh man, I'm so sorry you had to go through that, Jayne. Barefoot shoes are a great way to reconnect with your body and nature., though. Hope you keep feeling better! (:
@@AndrewFolts Thankyou. Sigh yeah unfortunately not unusual for me. Still nothing quite like the thrill of the days I can get back to getting my little feetsies out and about.
Do you have an opinion on these vs vibram v-aqua? They seem to serve the same purpose, although I think v-aqua should be better for trails because of the sole. I wonder which ones are warmer.
The V-NEOP would be warmer and is great for flatter trails, while the V-Aqua is more breathable and better for hilly trails where you need grip and security.
@@AndrewFolts yeah, that's what I thought as well. Also, V-aqua seems to be more agile and secure in general. I think it would make a good second running shoe for bad weather. Thank you
I'd recommend going a size down and maybe two, because these run long and don't have any lacing. Usually I'm a 44 in barefoot shoes, but even the 43 V-NEOP was too big, so the 42 ended up being nice and snug. Generally, the separate toes do a good job of preventing your feet from sliding, as well as the rubber sole, which won't stretch.
Hi, how waterproof is it at the toes? I have a v-trek, if it rains, it will immediately become completely wet. I will use only in forest or urban environment
There's some minimal water resistance, definitely more than the V-Trek,, but mostly neoprene is designed to keep your skin warmer when it gets wet, so they'll still soak through in rain. You're better off with something like the Vivobarefoot Magna FG for rain. ruclips.net/video/NYIWI47hooA/видео.html
@@kfsdk8 Depends on your cold tolerance, but with merino wool socks ruclips.net/video/_e6BC2vfl4w/видео.html I can get down to around 5º C (40º F) when it's dry and maybe 10º C (50º F) when it's wet. They're fairly warm without socks too, at least as far as toe shoes go.
I would love to use these for my trail runs! I currently use my bedrock sandals for any of my runs that include water crossings, but my toes always go numb from the cold 🥶 These would be a nice way to add some warmth and protection to my runs! #vibramfivefingers
Hi Andrew, I would love to try these on and use them on one of my trail runs. I found some new paths with mud and a stream so having shoes capable of handling that type of terrain would make it more fun 😁 #vibramfivefingers
Eh, I'd get the V-Alpha or V-Trek, instead. They've got a wool blend upper, which is much. more breathable than polyester. ruclips.net/video/gN07dkOloU4/видео.html

Hey Joshua, congrats, you won the draw! Just to verify, they are 44 but fit long (more like a size 45). Also, it's best if you're in the USA, since shipping/taxes are super high out of country. If that sounds good, you can fill out your contact info here: bit.ly/3Tyfqxw
#vibramfivefingers I’d like incorporating them into my mindfulness practices, such as walking meditations, would deepen my sense of grounding and presence. The barefoot experience encourages a mindful awareness of each step, fostering a deeper connection with the earth and my surroundings 🧘

I’ve been wanting a pair of zero drops that i can use for summer that would work in both wet and dry conditions. Specifically fishing, running and hiking, and the beach!!!! #vibramfivefingers
#vibramfivefingers going to use them beacuse the climate in my country is really wet🇪🇪 i already have the kso evo and they are the best shoes i've had. If i don't i'll probably still buy them
