I can definitely vouch for Dermablend. Little pricey, but it’s wonderful. The foundation is so good that you really don’t even need a concealer if you’re covering a blemish.

Amazing how the toothpaste spot treatment got so popular. I’d been advised to try this in my teens, here in my little country in Asia probably in the 90’s and early 2000’s when social media is not yet a thing. Surprisingly, it’s a common myth circulating worlwide.

There was an AMAZING spot I had when I was 14. I still think about it sometime! I won't go into graphic detail but it's legendary in my family.

Really helpful video! I find plain, unmedicated blemish patches are great for discouraging picking. Unlike the microneeedle patches - what a painful and expensive mistake that was! The one i tried, with salicylic acid potentiated under occlusion, made the spot exponentially worse and longer-lasting.

Applying toothpaste on a pimple was one of the worst things I've ever done. It didn't sting when I applied it at night, but the next morning, I had chemical burns on my cheeks and scarring that lasted for months. So please don't do that ever.

So here I am seeing some spots on my face and 68 years old. Good thing you posted this video, because I was about to use rubbing alcohol to dry them out. I have rosacea and it might be a new sunscreen??? Or new lotion... or maybe I’ve become young again lol.

Dr.Sam, when using Benzoyl Peroxide, is it okay to apply it after using niacinamide?
What about using it on the same night that you are using a retinol?

I didn't hear an answer for the question regarding pimples that open on their own? If i have whiteheads they will inevitably open on their own from face movement (often without me knowing) or when I wash my face (which i do ever night with gentle vanicream cleaner, no scrubbing either). I don't pick at my skin at all but what am I supposed to do when the pimples open on their own?

Ooo fantastic timing, Dr Sam thank you! 🙌🏻 I'm surprised you haven't mentioned the beloved retinol though? Is that because retinol is only useful for stopping spots from forming as opposed to successfully tackling them once they've arrived?

Why don’t we powder blemishes? I was using mineral powder on my spots because I thought it was better for my skin, less chemicals and less clogging.

    • @sabrinas.3564

I also would like to know her opinion. I’ve tried the peace out acne patches and it did many things but solve the problem - kept the area too moist, when removing it also popped the zit or it just did nothing. 😖

So should I take it to mean that when I cleanse my face(it's non-foaming, and I'm not rough with it) and the spot head gets knocked off, that's problematic? Shoot. I've had that a lot recently and thought it was a sign of things progressing with my problem acne.
