In shadows born, my sins revive,
A mirror's ghost, a soul deprived.
I kneel before your burning gaze,
A clone, a puppet lost in haze.
The blood he spilled, the stars that cried,
Not mine to claim, yet I cannot hide.
Guilty for what I did not do,
Yet I wear the mask, stained by truth.
Roboute, brother, see my plea,
I am not the one you seek to bleed.
But still, I feel the weight, the fall,
His sins, my soul-on me they call.
Forgive the shadow that I bear,
His crimes, his lust, his cold despair.
A chance to fight, to rise once more,
For mankind's light, not endless war.
I am his flesh but not his flame,
Grant me the strength to break this shame.
He tore the stars with pride and lies,
A serpent's tongue, a traitor’s eyes.
Yet here I stand, a hollow shell,
To rewrite the tales that history tells.
You point your blade, your justice cold,
But in this heart, the truth unfolds.
I seek no throne, no twisted dream,
Only to wash away the scream.
Roboute, brother, look beyond,
This vessel yearns to right what's wronged.
Though his name still stains my skin,
Inside, a new war does begin.
Forgive the shadow that I bear,
His crimes, his lust, his cold despair.
A chance to fight, to rise once more,
For mankind's light, not endless war.
I am his flesh but not his flame,
Grant me the strength to break this shame.
Beneath this flesh, a soul reborn,
To walk the path he once did scorn.
No chaos calls, no daemon’s breath,
Only the will to conquer death.
I rise for Terra, not for pride,
To stand with you, to turn the tide.
The past is dark, the future grey,
But in my heart, a fire stays.
I’ll fight beside you, not for fame,
To burn away my brother’s shame.
Not as a Primarch, not as kin,
But as a warrior, free from sin.
Forgive the shadow that I bear,
His crimes, his lust, his cold despair.
A chance to fight, to rise once more,
For mankind's light, not endless war.
I am his flesh but not his flame,
Grant me the strength to break this shame.
In silent hope, I wait, I kneel,
For in this truth, my fate is sealed.
A clone I am, but soul reborn,
To fight for light in endless storm.
“You share his face, but not his sins. Rise, Brother.”

I hate, HATE, that Clonegrim was only used as a side character and plot point for Fabulous Bob's book, and then forgotten about. Pre heresy Emperor's Children were one of the greatest of the 20 legions, and Fulgrim was humble, noble and charasmatic. He was up there with Sanguinius.
GW *MUST* bring Clonegrim back. We would get fantastic stories of snake fulgrim vs clonegrim and the redeemed Emperor's Children, and Guilliman really just needs a damn break. He needs help, and he needs a friend
What a drop for Emperors children on so many levels if Fulgrim and Clonegrim dropped at the same time. The layers of intruige behind the Lion and Gullimans reaction and responses. So much potential.
Probably wasted. Thanks GW
He was also one of the most human of the primarchs, in both the good and bad, he had an ego yes, but could also form geniune connections with those unaugmented humans that served alongside him, man even had a wife!

The fall of the Emperor's Children was by far the most tragic of falls in terms of what was lost. It almost makes one weep when you think about it.
Fulgrim strides gracefully up the steps of the Imperial Palace, Mortals and Pilgrims avoid his path, some kneel, recognising him as a Primarch, others meet his gaze in horror and fear. A child unafraid of the Primarch walks up to him and stares at his sorrowful face. The child recognises that he's sad, and asks to be picked up. The Primarch does so and carries the child effortlessly as he approaches the Imperial Gate, the childs parents behind him as the crowd grows. The Custodian Guard protecting the inner palace, knowing who the Primarch is, stand ready and alert, their spears aimed directly at the crowd and within a word, could gun down Fulgrim and the child. When suddenly, almost effortlessly they turn their blades down, a psychic presense tells them to stop.
The gates open, and out steps a number of Guardsmen, tech adepts, servitors, and higher eschellaons of the imperium, followed by inquistors and lastly Gulliman himself. Fulgrim puts the child down, to his side, who bravely does not leave. Not a word is uttered despite the vast murmmers from the crowd. Fulgrims face fills with tears and he bows his head, ready to accept judgement for his sins. Gulliman's voice silences the crowd "What Trickery is this, I recognise you as the Traitor Fulgrim, yet you aren't Daemonic, is this some fiendish trick to let down my guard Traitor" Fulgrims face is swelling with tears and a mournful expression. "No brother" Gulliman snaps back suddenly, "You are no brother of mine, Fulgrim betrayed the Emperor and killed Ferrus Manus, sold his soul to Chaos! Give me one reason, why I should not slay you right here, in front of all these people."
Fulgrim bowed his head again, unable to meet Gulliman's judgemental stare, he spoke "It is true brother, I did kill Ferrus Manus and I did betray everything I hold dear, I gave in to temptation and it cost me my soul. But I am not the Traitor Fulgrim. I am his clone, his specter, I pocess his memories, his sins, and his failures, but I was grown in a lab, held captive within a time vortex by a maligant xeno. I do not know how I am free, perhaps my captor, wanted to free me, perhaps not. But I knew what I had to do. I had to return to Terra and beg for Fathers forgiveness and to rejoin the fold, for I am eternally haunted"
Gulliman looked down at this abomination, he had seen clone Primarchs made before, it was clear to him this was the work of Fabius Bile, no other could attempt such vile machinations. But the other clones, he had created were weak, pitiable, did not have the spark for which all Primarchs processed. However this one, was entirely unrecognisable as a clone, to draw a crowd of civilans like Fulgrim had done, was indeed what the primarch was capable of, he had the Charisma. The Spark that made Fulgrim who he was. If Fulgrim was who he said he was, there was something to be gained, for the Imperium, but if not.. It was foolish for Fulgrim to come alone, without a weapon, to the Terra, unopposed. Perhaps there was some truth to Fulgrims words after all, Gulliman thought.
@@PsychoTy1998 i wonder if Gulliman would send him on suicide missions to prove his loyalty.
Excellent scenario you've depicted, truly the emperor bless' the faithful.
@@backgroundcharacter9495 Here's how I would continue this made up scenario.
The silence was maddening, no one dared speak a word, while silent tears fell down Fulgrims face. Gulliman pondered his next moves carefully, despite his better judgement and anger towards, the Real Fulgrim, this one was displaying regret and remorse not heard of the Daemon. "I cannot judge you, despite the clear risks" Gulliman boomed, "If you are, truly Fulgrims clone, yet pocess his spark, you would serve as a reminder and replacement, but only the Emperor can judge you, if he finds you lacking, I will gladly slay you within the Imperial Palace"
The Captain-General of the Custodies, unafraid of both Fulgrim and Gulliman approached the two brothers and kneeled to look into Fulgrims eyes, who met his gaze. Something was different about the Captain, while he appeared as a Custodies, his eyes told a different tale, one the primarch had not seen since the days of the Emperor and the Great Crusade, Fulgrim did not say a word. It was within the Emperors limited power to see throguh mortals and express his powers although dampened by the Golden throne, to appear any where in the Galaxy. The Captains eyes were a balefire of gold and blazen red, a true indicator that the Emperor himself was looking upon Fulgrim. A mental conversation occured between the Captain and Fulgrim. "Father..... I cannot begin to atone for the sins of my past, I rightly deserve to pay for my sins. I will gladly accept any punishment fitting" Fulgrim thought. Within mere moments of uttering another word, Both Fulgrim and the Custodian were on Chemos, in his lavish palace, before it was consumed by his darkness. Fulgrim knew of it well, the marble brimstone, and lavish rugs, pillows and drapes. The blissfall waterfalls and succulent food. Fulgrim did not move, merely took in his surroundings and looked on at the Custodian who now held the Laer blade within his hands, its vile voices and corruption kept at bay. "This, is a memory" Spoke the Custodian, the voice was distant, yet commanded a sense of loyalty within the Primarch.
"In the past, you had everything you ever wanted, money, power, fame, but you wanted more, craved more. It did not take much, to convince you that picking up the Blade would give you this power." The Custodian shook his head and Fulgrim bowed once again, before he could say a word however, the Custodian spoke, and the memory dissaperated. Fulgrim had not left the Judgement of Gulliman or the Emperor. "I speak for the Emperor, who judges this Primarch of the Emperors children, and former Traitor, exempt from his crimes, all of his sins. He is to rise, once again, like a Phenoix from the past. Gulliman you may distrust Fulgrim as you have every right to do. But I have looked in his soul. His hearts, beat with loyalty and love for his brothers, for me, and for humanity. Do not let fear, or anger cloud your judgemnet, your Brother has returned, and he will serve once again."
Gulliman was astounded, but he knew deep within the Custodian eyees, that it was their Father, who had spoken these words. No error could be made, no trickery. The Emperor of mankind himself had given Fulgrim another chance, to serve humanity, but to atone for his sins. Gulliman then, placed a hand on Fulgrims shoulder, and with little effort, raised the Primarch up to his feet, and with a loud voice boomed "To all within serving the Imperium, let a day of celebration commense, let feasting and joy swell your hearts and minds, no work is continue today on Terra. For Today a Primarch returns to the fold. Come Brother, we have much to discuss"
Fulgrim then turned to the little girl who bravely spoke not a word and stood looking up at him with beeming eyes and happiness. Fulgrim smiled, and pulled out a purple rose, from deep within his armor, it materalised almost seemingly from the Armor itself and a small silver rust began to appear at the roses departure. "Here, little one," Fulgrim said softly. "You keep this close, and I will always be there to protect you, now run along, your family look eager to your safe return" The child then without a ounce of fear, hugged the Primarch, her little hands could grasp the full sheer size of his face, but she tried, and Fulgrim recognised the love in his hearts.
@@PsychoTy1998that was so fecken good my man
I love that callback to when Fulgrim humbled his sons with that speech about raising up the peasants of society while he had that girl on his shoulder
The conflict this would cause Guilliman would be quite the drama.
Wearing the face of his brother who laid him so low, a memory of better days.
But as Fabius saw the folly in looking to the past, would Guilliman do the same?
Would he gamble on that second chance to forge forward or would the wounds of the past again squander promise?
Clonegrim the Prodigal Son returns to the Emperors Light
Would be pretty cool if this scene happen and Guilliman choose to execute him with the Sword of the Emperor but in the last moment the Lion stops it with the Shield of the Emperor because of how now he started to forgive like what he is doing with the Fallen... And you have Roboute with the sword, unforgiven not leaving anything to chance and The Lion with the shield, ready to forgive. Like the roles reverse for their experience.
Oh god the symbolism of that would be amazing. And I am nothing if not a sucker for symbolism.
God, so many good ways they can go about this! GW! You are sitting on a gold mine here!
Rise, born again, like the phoenix you are named for!
I imagine its even better for roboute to see that face of brother lost beyond all hope once again returned to him against all odds. Especially as he doesnt know the lion has returned and feels alone.
The lie of perfection, and the one closest to its truth, puppet husk and noble soul. The corrupted pretender against the pheonix reborn
I believe that if they make Clonegrim forgiven, then GW will be able to sell both the demon Fulgrim miniature and the loyalist clone. In theory, we will get an excellent plot.
Stumbled on this by complete randomness but Really love what you’ve done!! I want a copy to put on my playlist lol

Damn this made me start to tear up man.
*If Guilliman still wishes the clone dead, then at least let it be in battle rather than an executioners chopping block.*
Much respect for the crafting skill.
Please let this happen...
This song was so beautifully done to portray fulgrim clone meeting guilliman. I have probably have listened to this song now a few dozen times and it is still terrific and sad
If they hadn't made that titanically stupid bait and switch of Fulgrim's "good" side that got trapped in the painting actually being evil all along, we could have had a redemption arc where the Fulgrim clone finds the painting, unites with the real Fulgrim's soul, and proceeds to rejoin his brethren as a loyal son of the Emperor.
I'm being heavily influenced by Majorkill but GW is sitting on a golden opportunity here to make a hell of a narrative in Warhammer 40k. A potentially great story of redemption, even if it ends in tears.
Perfect... I hope GW makes some amazing lore with Clonegrim, maybe he losing and almost dying to Fulgrim but the Emperor's Golden light appearing. Purging Fulgrim, and then Clonegrim returns with a full redempted Emperor's Children Legion.
The Ancient Awaits!
too good to be true 🥲
Nope. Reynolds doesnt work for BL anymore
@HeinrichMuller-mv6hn yeah I keep seeing this yet don't really believe that to be true. I'm mean GW just cares about money and that would make a ton of money, would even be a great movie if they ever go that way. So what I'm saying is never say never when it comes to GW and profits lol.
@BigPapaE yeah, but GW needs to keep warhammer in a eternal stalemate soo that they can keep making money for a long time, bringing back a loyalist primarch would need to come with big chaos victory along because the march of profit from GW must continue
I've said it before and I will continue saying it until GW greenlights it; The Phoenix and The Phonecian is such an obvious storyline, give it to us GW!!!!!
This is the best potential scenerio games workshop has at their disposal right now. Come on do it, I believe. And redemption of Magnus must comes next.
Unfortunately the writers had all the good parts of Magnus' soul commit self-deletion rather than join with the Chaotic parts of his soul. So all that is left is Magnus is Chaos.
Ah the clone of Fulgrim, literally the best possible way to have a redeemed primarch. And Games Workshop squandered it.

A chance to return one of the lost sons to his side, one who seeks atonement...I just don't see why the Emperor wouldn't be watching this chain of events of Clonegrim trying to return to Terra. Fulgrim's Clone is being held by Trazyn right? Considering how vested Trazyn is in the Imperiums survival in order to fight against the Ruinous Powers, I have a feeling that he may send Fulgrim's clone to the Imperium to help with the fight one day, he is eccentric like that.
This was awesome!
And makes me want Clonegrim to return and join Roboute. That'd be an awesome story arc, as it would force a rematch between Roboute & Corrupted Fulgrim.
What we need now is fulgrim meeting the lion
Is it known if Clonegrim remembers Rylanor and his sacrifice
Ну когда грянет гражданская война в империуме и явится Леманн Русс - может быть они вспомняи про клона, но явно не очень скоро, лет через 10, хах
This feels like an Oney Plays talk, like when they talk about is it worth it to kill a clone Hitler or is it not
It should never have been the clone..curse you, mirror cracked.
This song hits hard, I wish it was on spodify so I could listen to it along with other songs
Maybe the clone of him will return to the imperium later after deeper contact whit the nekrons, possibly an cooperation relationship, not as allies in the beginning

So if redeemed Fulgrim had a legion would they be call the Emperors Children or would he use another name for them, if so what would they be called?
The prodigal sons
Sons of the Phoenix
No doubt they'll change the name. Maybe the perfect sons.Or sons of thr Phoenix which I believe is already a chapter
Have you thought of doing one of Ferrus Manus leading the Legion of the Damned?
Ever thought about doing some Alternate Heresy music?
I speak as someone who has not read the book yet but is it possible that Slaanesh took all the noble parts of Fulgrim's soul and placed them into Clonegrim knowing what Fabius was going to do from the beginning?
I think rather that what happened was the real Fulgrim’s good bits were buried in his subconscious by his shame, but when he became a demon he ejected all his good bits into the warp and they just floated around until Fabius unknowingly made a perfect vessel that allowed them to return the Materium.
@@LordOmnissiah I like your theory better.
when clonegrim go to terra did he have his power armor as depicted in the art?
just a question
At current, Clonegrim is still in Trazyn’s museum. There are only a few in universe that are aware of Clonegrim’s existence in the first place, Guilliman isn’t one of them.
It’s unlikely that GW will bring him back into the story, but god wouldn’t that be awesome?!
