Went to Manchester for the first time last weekend and I think I’m completely and utterly in love with this city.
I can’t explain why, I just felt it’s energy and it was overwhelming. I must go back again...
I'm writing this comment just 2 years after this video was posted and what is quite amazing is just how much the city has changed in 2 years...there are dozens of buildings that have been completed or are in construction which don't feature, incredible.
It is changing so much! We film there regularly... we clearly need to get another showreel done,,,, and maybe a now and then comparison?

There are some very Beautiful buildings in the City centre of Manchester, which undoubtably rival my own City of Liverpool.
The drone actually flew over the Famous Midland Hotel (The contributor failed to mention suprisingly) stayed many times over the years.
A Great City Centre with spectacular Architecture , with which Mancunian,s should be proud of!
Two Great Citys with more in common than we will probably Ever admit ?

Birmingham IS the UK's second city. It got that name during the 2nd world war and still retains that title. You might think Manchester is better but that doesn't make it objectively better.

Agreed, ask anyone what they consider to be the second city and they will say Manchester. No one gives a fuck about population, it’s about culture and the fondness people have for it. On both counts Manchester wins - oh and it’s the second most visited city in England. Look it up. Thanks xx

Thank you. You read our minds! We would love to film in London and Windsor. On our to do list... watch this space! It takes a while to find suitable and safe places to film and fly, but we will get there.

Thanks... All of our footage is taken legally and within the CAA rules and regulations. It can take time to find the right spots to fly from and get the permissions, but the more we fly the more people know us and see they can trust us with flying from their property - be it from a roof, a carpark or a public square. We sometimes need to take extra crew to cordon off the areas and keep the area safe. We hope that the people (like ourselves) who are flying the drones safely and legally will be able to continue flying. However there certainly needs to be greater restrictions to prevent the cowboys.

Lot of changes to the skyline since the 3 years or so this was filmed. Big changes. Be even more in next 3 if things keep going. Manchatton .
Constantly changing, its hard to keep up! We are in town on a regular basis capturing the next construction site or new build!
Most of that footage is from Salford, not Manchester
I don't think so there is footage of media city but most of.it is of.Manchester city centre.
Hi, were the CAA permissions for day/night flight hard to obtain when filming this?
The permissions in the city centres are often quite time consuming. Finding a suitable location and then getting the permissions. But we know the city well now and have built a good relationships. We also know the procedures well, be it with the airport, prisons, council, police, DJI... etc. Its all worth it and part of the challenge!
Lowry Centre is in the city of Salford, not Manchester.

Hi Jordon, A very good question. Thank you for asking this. We are a CAA approved drone company. All our flights are done legally. There are plenty of elements involved to film in the city centres and it can require a lot of preparatory work. First of all finding a safe zone to fly in, it might be a car park, construction site, roof of a building, a public space that needs cordoning off. We would then need to find the the land owner and get their permission, inform the local authorities , police, prisons, airports. It sometimes requires us to film either early in the morning or late at night. We often have multiple crew members on site to make sure that the cordoned off area is maintained.

wonderfully shot images of a dirty drug-ridden city - aerial viewing in your own home is the safest way to see the city :)

As a true Mancunian, as in I live within the City of Manchester. I note some lovely shots of Salford!! A city in its own right. You're not a Mancunian if your in Greater Manchester only the City of Manchester. So Stopfordian from Stockport Boltonian from Bolton etc,etc. Salford Quays is not Manchester!! Nice video however..
