My X-Men '97 predictions:
Magneto and Leech (and possibly other Morlocks) survived the blast. While still inside the force field, Magneto let the Sentinel blast explode and they disguised their escape by shooting away like shrapnel. They were the ones that hit the building that collapsed in the background.
Magneto will turn back to his old ways but not show up alive immediately. He will let himself become a “martyr figure” to rally mutants to his side as they prepare for war.
The villain mastermind who will show up in Ep 7 is Bastion. He is a sentinel/human hybrid from the future and is the one Cable was warning Madelyne about. He is working with Gyrich, Trask, and Mister Sinister to trigger a human and mutant war. Bastion works with the UN’s Special Sciences Division who dismantled Master Mold from Ep 1, allowing him to create the giant three-headed Master Mold that destroyed Genosha.
Another X-Man will die in Ep 8.
The season will close with the X-Men separated into two opposing factions (inspired by X-Men Schism). One side will be more militant, led by Cyclops. The other side will hew closer to Xavier’s dream, led by Storm. Big drama on how the X-Men will choose their sides in Ep 10.
Rogue should have an extension of her power like Emma Frost had. She gets to reverse the flow and instead of drain life she can impart life.
There’s a lot of reason to believe the mastermind is Bastion. Forget had a picture with him
With Scott and Jean I think they’re both right and they’re both wrong. It’s complicated and both those fuckers need to communicate to work this out. I get where Scott was coming from but he was still wrong and Jean isn’t innocent after kidding Logan but I also get she’s confused because of her trauma

Isn't the story about Gambit being the traitor in the comics is really about him being the one responsible for the Morlock massacre?

Sidebar. I like how they're slightly moving away from "how things are supposed to be" specifically with Jean, Scott, and Madelyne Pryor. Jean tried to work it out with that man when she did not want to only because Logan said that's "how it's supposed to be". She gave that man a chance, and meanwhile we kiikii-ing in the astral plane with Madelyne. Skskskssksksksk.
I’ve seen it theorized that the big bad will be Bastion instead of Cassandra Nova. Ppl have seen him in the gala scene
Bastion just makes more sense with Xavier being gone. Cassandra revolves around Xavier and Bastion is a perfect substitute given his true nature.
As you mentioned He's been teased a bit... And the later episode titles certainly make it seem like it's Bastion

Leach has to be the Omega level threat. Not magneto. Potentially magneto could have ended Leach to save the others in the area. Because magneto wasn't assessed as an omega level threat whenever he was whipping it with a train.
Lol Magneto isn’t going to end Leech. And Magneto is definitely the Omega here that’s been established for some time.
Emma is why we get black Canary teaching the teen titans.

Always a good after-show discussion. Slutty Magnus is a vibe. I don’t understand the Scott hate specific to this show. Logan was a stand up guy this episode. ,,,every other episode though? Yep.
