    Exceptional for my hobby. It doesn't need to have all the bell and whistles for me. A crisp display and acceptable performance is all I need.

      👍 True enough. Sometimes we get lost in gimmicks that aren't necessary for test equipment. Excellent multimeter for the hobbyist or DIY.

    Corners were cut...no real fuse? It doesn't seem to be a resettable fuse, had some of those blow on my laptop during some testing. Input protection is atrocious. You missed to try the frequency range on the scope, the screen update rate seems like a slideshow. And if you can save a shot of your waveform...how is it exported to a phone or PC. Someone oughta make it better!

      Waveforms are saved to the meter only (I'm assuming to keep costs down). I agree with lacklustre input protection but as I said it's a great hobbyist multimeter and will suffice for home users. Actually the screen update was fairly spunky for most things. My only real gripe was the painful selector switch which I demonstrated. Thx for the feedback and for watching 👀 👍

    Pretty thorough review. You showed how to change the scope time base. Is it possible to change the scope vertical gain (i.e. volts per division)? It would be important to be able to see the waveform in more detail. Thanks.

      The dancing figures..? No they are simply mechanical. I had them for at least 15 years..energizer bunny look out! 😂

    Hi, really good video, thank you very much.
    I need to adjust gain in a car amplifier so that I don't have distortion, will this oscilloscope do the job well?

    Interesting review, as usual. Pretty accurate 6000 count DMM with a nice, crisp and fancy display. (I like the outline font, really.) And it contains the basics of the functionality of an oscilloscope. Nice. It tries to be a "jack of all trades". Result: Does everything, but nothing is done right. It practically invites to stick it into mains but lacks propper input protection? It uses SMD fuses, not easy to change from beginners? Lacking rubber housing, hence not even the slightest protection against mechanical damage, but advertising it for use in car maintenance? Alltogether a no go! Simply a No! Would anyone give this "toy" to his kids for experimenting with/ learning about electricity without worries...??? Again: Simply ...No!!!

      It's indeed a slightly unusual beast as far as dmms/Waveform meters go. Personally, I think the ET828PRO succeeds on merit alone, as it's a huge upgrade from its initial launch a few of years ago. It's more powerful, has better performance and better ranges. Albeit, the selector switch is terrible.
      No rubber boot or magnetic backing is a downer but I don't think it's a deal breaker. YMMV but it's alot of meter for the money. I think it's safe for residential use but a regular fuse would definitely be preferable over the smd resettable. Thx for watching as always my friend. 👍

    Its okay I guess, like you said aimed more towards bench use for hobby electronics. Certainly quite a lot of meter for the price range they are talking, although there does appear to be quite a wide price range in the UK. The display is quite unique though isn't, which will likely be its appeal factor. Thanks for the review!

      Yessir..I definitely find the chunky color display really nice but it's probably not going to be to everyone's liking. All toll not a bad dmm with Waveforms display.

    Hmm, interesting. So, it still uses SMD fuses, but has a noticeable improvement for LED testing and a 10MHz bandwidth. 🤔I guess the multimeter part of it is okay, although I'm still not a fan of this display. As for the waveforms, I'm just the wrong target audience.

    • @KeepOnTesting
      @KeepOnTesting  6 месяцев назад

      It's way above it's previous performance benchmarks, I think the added improvements are worth the price of admission 😊👍

    No BNC input disqualifies it as a real scopemeter in my opinion. Also, with stuff like the zoyi ZT702s/ZT703s and even the newer FNIRSI scopemeters and such on the market for virtually the same price or maybe 15-20USD more I don't see why stuff like this continues to exist and that companies (like tooltop) go through the effort to rebrand these.

    • @KeepOnTesting
      @KeepOnTesting  6 месяцев назад +1

      It's basically a Waveform display. As you highlighted no bnc negates alot of scope functionality. That being said it excelled with the Waveforms and can be very handy for general troubleshooting purposes 😉 I think it's a decent multimeter with bonus Waveform display capabilities.

    Well, I wish I had waited for the Zotek 703 (I have the 702). Think this one will get an upgrade too? Gotta love competition.

      Unfortunately we will continue to see battery powered multimeters for years to come. A rechargeable 18650 or similar would definitely have been welcomed 😌 👍

    • @gregm.857
      @gregm.857 10 дней назад

      @@KeepOnTesting An 18650 is a battery, too! If the meter uses a rechargeable battery, you have to stop what you're doing while you recharge it. Yes, Lithium has a higher power density, but when it's dead, it's dead. The advantage of using "primary cells" (i.e. cells that are NOT rechargeable) is that if you're working on a job away from your shop and the batteries run down, you can always get new ones at Walmart.
