I always suggest when you are moving to Wyoming you should different towns in Wyoming to find out which one you "belong" in! Where have you visited in Wyoming? I would love to hear in the comments

Absolutely love the Buck Fiden sticker on the beat up Dodge truck. Best city ever!
We are full in Wyoming. Gillette especially
I've been all over this country as both military and a commercial truck driver before I retired and lived in a lot of places (seven different states). When we were planning our escape from Aurora Colorado, we looked at Casper, Cheyenne, Gillette and Wright for housing and living conditions. We fell in love with Gillette with the aid of our realtor in Gillette (Stephanie) who was so helpful with our long-distance house hunting on several road trips up. We were looking for lower priced homes around $250k but set on one $70k more when we saw it was just what we were looking for and in a great neighborhood with sweet neighbors. We have been here for about two years now, and I can say we haven't met a disagreeable person here yet. Medical facilities are decent here and the VA Hospital is just down I-90 to Sheridan though Campbell Country Hospital works well with specialists coming up periodically from Casper. I think Casper was the high second place for us though I have no regrets moving to Gillette. Love Wyoming and only regret is not moving here sooner.
I'm glad you love it here!
All the disagreeable people are in the comment section here dissing the 49 states that are not Wyoming and ordering people not to move to Wyoming. I expect to have my car keyed every day that my license plate says anything other than Wyoming. Seriously, people from other states look at Wyoming and like what they see, please stop with the hate of outsiders.
Well, if you're from kalifornia and want to export your insanity here, then, yeah, you're not welcome. Already seen how kalifornia imports ruined Colorado, metro dictators.
As a conservative Californian that just bought land in Casper, The population is tiny where I lived. I can’t wait to officially become a Wyoming resident! I miss Wyoming already.
I am also moving they can't wait.idaho is to expensive now.so many California's are moving here.my kids can't afford to live here.i left California 7years ago.to Idaho now going to Wyoming. I hope l like it like you do.
We moved out of Commiefornia in 2009! We always voted hardcore conservative- I hope you do too!!
Us too….Moving to Cheyenne next spring.
TWU
ehhh go bak to Cali, Cali person. lol
Thanks for the video........best part of anything wyoming..........conservatives. nothing better.
Yep! For sure! Thank you for watching!
I’ve lived in both and Gillette is less Windy.
Casper is a great place to ride bike, weather permitable. Also a great place to possibly bump into a guy more powerful than a warlock that smells good and sells painted sticks that are shipped as toy wands. Keep on rocking on
That’s most definitely what’s up, Toobz! TWU
I love Gillette and Sheridan. The people in Wyoming are super friendly.
I live in Buffalo, Wyoming and absolutely love it!!!!!!
We love where we live, thank you Alisha for helping us find the perfect house for us!!
Yay! I am so glad to hear, and you are so welcome!
Air service in Rapid City SD if you live in Gillette, WY two hours away.
good point!
Thanks so much for making this comparison. I'm familiar with Gillette, having stayed there for several weeks back in 2020. You've got some fantastic houses in Casper, and it looks like everything I loved about Gillette only bigger.
Thank you for watching!
You’re adorable if I ever leave godforsaken New Mexico to come to Wyoming I want to meet you and take you to lunch ha ha.
Your videos are very positive and I can tell you’re proud of where you live. I’m a registered nurse of 31 years and our governor is a lunatic. Now that Liz Cheney has been ousted Wyoming just got even more attractive to me. 😃
After spending a couple weeks in Denver visiting family I can tell you Casper is paradise to live in. It's such an amazing town with great people.
Also I didn't know the population of Casper jumped that much since the 2020 census! Curious what source is reporting that?
Which is closer to a large airport? Also, thanks for amazing and informative content! Thanks in large part to your videos, Wyoming is now at the top of my relocation list!
Casper Wyoming had an international airport which is for sure larger
@@alishacollinsrealestate thanks!
And your 45 min away from the mountain
The nearest large airport is Denver, CO
Everybody I mean everybody don't move to Wyoming the wind will drive you crazy and we're Overpopulated as it is thank you very much !
Don’t forget the Wyoming Bigfoot 🙀
Unless I missed it, I didn't hear you compare health care?! Which town as the best hospitals and access to the best doctors in most specialities? I currently live in Princeton NJ and I am 60 and single and Wyoming is on my list to check out towns to move for retirement in a few years!
I would tell you that on average, people in Gillette are skinnier and younger than Casper. Also, the wind is crazy in Casper. Other than that, it was a good comparison.
She mentioned Casper vs. Gillette’s wind
I would love to live in Wyoming but not Jackson. Why not. Because it looks like a suburb of California with prices to match. I Watch the Jackson web cams but they don't show the homeless camps. Please could you do a comparison between Casper and Laramie or just a talk about Laramie.
Yes I will! It is on my list! Thank you for watching. Where do you live now?
@@alishacollinsrealestate

Capser is windy AF!
I tend to favor the lower population areas but more importantly which one do you encounter less traffic, traffic signals, and traffic congestion? Which place has lower crime rates?
Which place has more new/newer homes for sale?
How does Gillette compare to Buffalo?
About the only traffic jams you'll find in Wyoming is in Yellowstone park during tourist peaks
I lived in Wyoming for about 40 years. I worked in corrections for about 4, before I moved. In my experience, there are a LOT of drug related crimes, high amounts of domestic violence and alcohol related crimes. Keep your vehicles and doors locked, even if you think your neighborhood is safe! Gillette used to have more crime than Casper, but I don't know what its currently like. You do not see a lot of homeless people on the streets in Wyoming due to its low population and its awful weather
So Gillette and Buffalo would be safe bets for a person to escape traffic congestion?🤔@@kathleenmartin7498
Yes very true. The weather in the whole state of Wyoming keeps out most if not all the people.@@kathleenmartin7498 😁
I'd love to see a Sheridan vs. Casper video, if you get the chance.
its on my list to create!!!
I might like Sheridan but it maybe too much to purchase the newest home there.
@@alishacollinsrealestate Thank you!!!
More meth Casper
Thank you for the great video, I am seriously considering moving to Wyoming. Just not certain where in Wyoming yet.
I like Casper more than Gillette
Gillette seems more rural (?) from looking at a map - property taxes seem about 1/2 or less when compared to similar residential properties in MN - would prefer whichever place has best veterinarian and best grocery store and home improvement store access plus fabric store access 🙂in a quiet neighborhood -
What about health care? I just retired as a nursing supervisor and good health care is one of the #1 things on my list. My son lives in Wyoming and I am coming in two weeks. Would really love just a small place as it's only me.
Great video. I’ll just cut to the chase. Are there any new construction homes in the low 400s ?
Same question here in Gillette.
Yes there are some. It might be easier to buy something almost new!
Thanks
Im presently living on a sailboat in punta gorda fl which is easy sailing to the keys BUT at 69 I wonder how much longer, maybe 2or3 yrs more .I just started looking for a small town close to a ski area ( lived in truckee ca for 30 yrs built houses and taught skiing) so casper seems to be perfect . As for living space a small condo would be perfect. Or an apartment close to shopping ( walking distance),lm looking maybe I'll call.
Great comparison. Thank you !
How are the property taxes in Wyoming for single dwelling family homes like 3 bd. 2 bath 2+ attached garage fairly new 1,500 to 2,500 sq. Ft. Specifically in Gillette? No farms or ranches.
Is it true there is no cap per year and your property tax can go as high as 30% in just one year?🤔😱
From Gillette if you need medical care how is the medical services care there as far as trauma center, dentist , and chiropractor care?
Thats like saying which bridge should I jump off of-- ha!
When is Wyoming housing prices going to recognize the rise in interest rates?
Who knows. I don't think anyone can know when it will happen! We can all speculate of course.
@@alishacollinsrealestate Lol, yeah just what we need. More speculation 😂
If you think about it, building costs went nuts during the shortages….price reflects that.
Those who are selling after 5-10 years of ownership may be a better option if you cannot afford the stupid current new home prices.
As material prices come down, whatever that may be, prices will come down.
Interest rates are actually in line with history since the 70’s. We were just spoiled with ultra low rates the last few years. BTW thank the current administration for the run away inflation and interest rates. Interest rates going up is to slow the spending.

Good info. Thank you
I love having land in Casper. I also love the F Biden sticker on that pickup...lol! Classic.
How about extreme weather conditions in both areas? Which has less? Tornadoes?
They are similar. We don't typically have a lot of tornados there was a large one outside of Gillette last year. Blizzards and large snowstorms cause some problems, but we just hunker down when needed and drive big vehicles lol
@@alishacollinsrealestate I have survived 7 EF 3-5 tornadoes so would install a shelter in back yard….
I just need to say, that as a long time Caspierian and Wyomingite, I have kind of forgotten Gillette existed.
Quit encouraging them to come.
Exactly
Too late I’m on my way!
Ya and Casper has kingcobrajfs default win twu
🤣🤣🤣
Wyoming= where mother nature goes when she has PMS! LOL. Whatever the weather is now……it WILL change very soon!
Lol
Don’t go to CY Albertsons. They wouldn’t sell me alcohol at 9 am because they said I smelled of alcohol, and that I was still drunk from the night before. That’s NOT what’s up
Alcohol is a want not a need dood. F*** sickos.
Anything on Sheridan?
Have you compared to Cody?
no they are all on the list!
"PANAMA RELOCATION TOURS! WITH JACKIE!!🙋😊👍❤👈"
I moved to Middle Tn 13 years ago and the population and rental prices were much lower then. But blue state residents from awful cities started flooding here and we have seen a 50k pop increase of mostly trash from Memphis trash, California and Detroit and they brought their welfare SNAP cards with them. The population of Gilette looks just about right to me.
I know it's ridiculous, they moved to an area fuk it up, and want to go to another area just to fuck that one up!
If you're a red neck racist stay in Tennessee!😊
I've been invited to live in a beautiful affordable apartment in Rock Springs. What do you think? I'm a retiree ☝️
Do some more research, I have seen other videos on Rock Springs that talk about drug problems there, which would lead me to believe there must also be higher crime there.
@@shamrock241r8 Thanks for the heads up. I'm going to Casper instead. I was offered a much better place. Glad for people like you looking out for us 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🇺🇸
Casper MTN isn't a mountain...I live in the Wind River
It is to people that live where its flat.
Casper has the Beacon Club and the Sandbar; Gillette has the Center Bar. And THAT my friends, is the biggest difference! LOL
The Sandbar is gone...
@@alishacollinsrealestate HAHA!!!!!! I figures that. It has only been about 50 years since I hung around either Casper or Gillette! I was just being a smart arse!
I grew up in Gillette. I'm 40 now. I've been in North Dakota for 20 years. I miss Wyoming. You absolutely get ⭐️⭐️⭐️'s from me. My best part, is when you don't give away Gillettes location ever again. 🤣🤏
Is there any apartments in either city's?
Plenty
Of course...what city doesn't have apt's??😮😂
A little off topic here…. She would be great in a black metal band video doing the crab walk😂
Now that I’ve insulted her…. I might need a realtor in a year or two😂
I’m republican😊
I don't think I could do the crab walk lol, I'm old and my hip hurts! Let me know if you want help finding a home :)
@@alishacollinsrealestate I’m a ways out since this economy is awful. I think maybe Casper but I won’t be a Californian flushed with cash looking for a regal estate to purchase🤣 nope, a mid to later life truck driver desperate to get something I can retire on before I end up in a tent along the river. Pretty awful that I have a top tier union driving job that I’m planning to leave because my state is so screwed up. DONT LET DEMOCRATS TAKE OVER!!!! 😢
Hate to break it to ya’ll but GOP does not equal Conservative anymore. Sorry. It does represent a hard “right” bias as in special interest.
Don't want to see your awkward gait waking towards me in whole video. Very offputting
You could close your eyes and just listen :)
@@alishacollinsrealestategood one 😊😂
@@JosephSalinas-r4r Thanks! lol
I truly hate that people base their opinion of a place (for good or ill) on the political affiliation of their potential neighbors.
The last time I checked, republicans, democrats, and independents are all Americans.
For the record, I'm a registered independent, and I'm equally critical of both so-called conservatives and so-called progressives.
I miss the days when I didn't have the vaguest notion of how my neighbor voted, nor did I particularly care if I happened to find out.
I get asked a ton about politics all the time. I always wonder if I just didn't pay attention to politics before and now I do or that everyone now wants to know about affiliation. I have actually be told that they would only work with me if I was this or that...
@@alishacollinsrealestate
I have no doubt that all content creators are pressured to reinforce the predominant political leanings of their audience - even if the content is completely apolitical.
Even worse, creators frequently avoid any subject which might be interpreted to be even vaguely sympathetic or critical of one political stance or another.
From where I sit, neither Mitch McConnell nor Nancy Pelosi have done a damn thing for me (I'm neither a Californian nor a Kentuckian).
After doing a little research, it furthermore appears that both California and Kentucky have got plenty of their own problems - and neither Mitch nor Nancy have fixed any of them in their combined 90+ years in Washington.
The sooner we realize that we're all being played like a whorehouse piano, the quicker we can get back to being just neighbors. I look forward to the day.
The reason so many conservatives are asking about political affiliation is that they are being tarred & feathered & pushed out of the places they live (California) by the intolerant progressive left. They want to make sure they land in a place where they won't be constantly politically assaulted.
We may all be American but conservatives DON'T want drag queen Story hour in our state.
Liberals not needed.
@@shamrock241r8 Amen. I can't wait to get out of CA. The people here have completely lost their minds and it's not getting any better. In fact, it's getting worse.
Gillette is the armpit of the state of Wyoming
And Wyoming is the butthole of Emerica.
Glad you didn't mention Lander...and PLEASE DONT,like your content

I live in New Zealand where the meth and gang culture has gotten terrible! You literally can't find a city or rural town without a gang presence.. I'm now looking at rural towns in America to find peace of mind
Well let's see Casper is comparing Satan with a bed bug I'd rather be in bed with Satan then live in Casper Gillette
Thank God!!

I just got a job in Wyoming a few days ago after buying land in Casper in September! I'm excited to start my new life in Wyoming. Incidentally, I'll be living in Gilette temporarily in company housing. It's a great opportunity to compare both cities myself.
Let me know what you think!
Why would you move to a state like Wyoming just to live in a city?
Less people every where!
If I lived a minimalist life and had lots of money to burn, I would consider Wyoming enough months of the year to qualify as a resident. I'm not interested in the cold winters. Nothing looks all that good politically on the west coast southern states where the winters are more mild.
