As a novel and manhwa reader. Let me clarify some things: - It has been a few years that the dungeons appeared. The island with the giant ants in episode 1(past) happened 3 years ago before the statue dungeon of episode 2(present). - Something that will be revealed later on the story. That raid on the island ended with a dungeon break. In the manhwa, the one who tells us how it all went down was the old dude from the Hunter's Association from episode 1. So, having him be the narrator for the anime onlys and help them in the introduction of this world is a nice touch. - Also, in the manhwa, the first 10 chapters are ONLY the dungeon of the statues, aptly titled as the prologue of the story from the fans. Chapter 11 of the manhwa is the start of episode 3. In the manhwa, those other characters of episode 1 were all introduced slowly and later down in the story. The anime adaptation team did a fantastic job so far with how they handled the source material. . . . . . Remember guys and girls, this is only the beginning of the story.

To answer a few questions: The raid from episode 1 with the ants was the 3rd Juju Island raid from 3 years ago and it's because an S-Rank gate broke. To answer has there ever been an awful dungeon break that ruined everything? There have been 3 that fit that, Juju Island, an Undead monster in China what ate/reanimated millions, and the Kamish gate in America which was the 1st ever S-Rank gate to break and the boss Kamish is remembered as "humanity's greatest calamity" after his fire breath burnt most of the Mid-West to ash.
Man, the way you reacted to this part of the story as an anime-only viewer…THAT is the reaction we wanna see from newbies to the series and to this anime adaptation. You became silent, covered your mouth, and took in how grave and brutal the situation was. Props to the production team for getting this kind of reaction from viewers like you!
17:38 "People were saying in episode 1, the scene with the ants is actually something that happens WAY later in the [manhwa]." People are confused. It clearly states that scene occurred 3 years before the rest of the events in episode 1.
18:00 About dungeon breaks. Gates exist for 10 years and there were at least 2 big breaks that we know of. One was shown in the last ep (3 years ago), although people mistake it with scenes from the 13th arc (it will be in s2 most likely). You will get info about this one a little bit later. Around 5 years ago there was another one really bad DB in US when Kamish attacked and he was killed by 5 S-ranks. But it was explained way later (and also briefly) in the webtoon so I won't say much here
@@canelaspuf not really. First scene was shown in the anime, second scene is not important unless you read the 18th arc and I'm sure Luke will forget all about it by the time this arc is animated
The Quest "Courage of the Wek" has been completed(checkmark), the reward for which is becoming a player. The rules of the dungeon they had to follow in order to survive were part of a quest it seems and Sung Jin Woo as he is the last one remaining seems to have completed the quest and his reward is the qualification to become a player.
Also notice how this was still the same rank as the dungeon before it. Technically you could complete the statue dungeon even if you had zero magic, since it's a riddle and a test of mental fortitude rather than a test of strength. As one guy put it, "the statues aren't monsters, they are environmental hazards".
"courage". Courage of the weak. This is most important point of Jin-woo's character. He almost died multiple times during raids but he still had courage to go into the dungeon despite knowing he might die. As they said, courage is not the absence of fear, courage is acting in spite of fear. This point is the whole reason the story of solo leveling happened.
The raid with the ants was three years ago, the anime said so. Anyone who said differently is confusing it for something else. The ending is part of the episode. He's an Awakened now but by completing the secret quest "Courage of the Weak" he obtained the opportunity to become a Player instead. If doesn't click yes his heart will stop. It seems like he's clicking yes at the end, but it's not clear. The messages are quick and purposefully ambiguous, since he's dying and not really aware of what's going on.
0:52 "How does he know that? Is that how it works?" He doesn't know and is making assumptions. 3:07 "Have they ever encountered or opened a gate that they could not defeat the thing on the other side?" Yes. It occurred often at the start. I can't go further than that without entering spoiler territory. 5:27 "Maybe if you/they show some praise?" First, they have to get past the reverence part of the commandments. Praise comes second. 14:08 "I don't think his leg's coming back." Regenerating limbs is a feat only A-Rank and above healers are able to accomplish. 17:28 "How many years ago did the dungeon breaks happen?" It's been 10 years since the gates first started appearing.
2:24, honestly, just ask the question. Formulating a question, saying it and then receiving an answer keep that answer in your brain for far longer than not doing so. It can never hurt to retain information. Just ask the question and let the series answer xD
Poor Luke... things will get betterish soon... No spoilers, but you'll find out why it's called "Solo Leveling", soon enough. But this anime/manhwa is great at making you care about the characters early on. Side note, since you asked, the giant bugs/ants are an "ongoing problem". That's the only thing I can say without many spoilers lol
If they do it right this anime could be one of the best! The novel and manhwa are both complete and they were fantastic! Frankly the only reason it took 8 years to make an anime is because they are South Korean in origin, but with them complete there shouldn't be any unnecessary filler episodes and/or seasons. The original author is Chugong.
simply put no one else ever was able to "improve" as you said in terms of "game stats" but now we got a "player screen" for the mc, im watching this for the first time and ye it obvious to me he will the First To GAIN the ability level up cause he passed a "special quest" just like in a game since hes in a Different dimension
17:37 "Also, something I find really interesting is that people were saying, that in episode 1, the scene with the ants is actually something that happens way later." People are mistaken - it clearly says in the next scene, where Sung Jin-Woo is introduced, "Three Years Later". There're several other clues for light novel and web novel readers, but that's spoiler territory, so ... SPOILERS ... 1. There are non-S-Rank hunters present - the 4th Jeju Island Raid was entirely S-Ranks. 2. Eunsouk is alive - he's only mentioned once by name in the light novel, when Byung-Gyu mentions his death to Yuunho over dinner. 3. The Korean hunters are fighting on the surface of the island instead of inside the nest - in the 4th Raid it was the Japanese S-Ranks holding the surface while the Korean team went into the nest.
17:36 - Ok, so basically what they showed on episode 1 wasnt something that happens later but a flashback of the failed raid of the ants which get trapped in the island, maybe they start to expand again. Probably wasnt the best explanation but it is something like that, they made use of past events to actually show the power level of S rank hunters, just so we can start the anime with a bit of epicness
since you asked about the ant raid in the beginning of the first episode here is a slight spoil (Not to heavy of a spoiler) The ant raid was a dungeon break they were trying to contain. that was the second time they went to the island the kill the ants. They failed the first time, we never got to see that attempt. In the Manhwa we never got to see that expedition, but it was the opening scene of the light novel. However, they also failed during that expedition to eradicate the ants. Later in the future we see them go on the third expedition. Thats what people meant by it happens in the future, but they were wrong that's third expedition, and the opening scene was showing the second expedition.
The ant scene at the start was when the s-class heros *first* failed to take back jeju island from the dungon (when it first became known/dangerous), what people talked about was the future raid of the same island.
It's not exactly like the island scene happened later in the series. If not, in the manhwa and novel they only show the second time they go to the island. and the battle they show in the series is only named when that arc begins. something like, we fought with these ants 3 years ago but we couldn't finish the nest and now they are back.
18:02 To answer your questions, Gates started appearing around fifteen years before the beginning of the anime. The scene with the ants in episode one is about the first raid to Jeju Island, when an S-rank gate broke up. It happens three years before the beginning of the anime. Korea lost many hunters there, and even with that they were not able to defeat the Ant Queen, so the Korean government left the island for lost and has been trying to get help from other countries to close it, with no success so far because other countries deny their help or demand outrageous rewards for their participation. The warning messages Jinwoo receives at the end of the chapter are explained next chapter.
The ant scene in the beginning was in the past. It was not described until much later in the manhwa, but I think they wanted to show the S ranks to give an idea of how weak E rank is.
About the questions you made during the video, The first one about the dungeon break, yes, There is a list of the worst dungeons breaks in the last 10 years, the worst was 1 years after the portals starting showing up in North america and if I'm not wrong almost 10 million people died, the worst last one was the dungeon break in Jeju island, That happen 3 years ago, it's the ants scene, from the beginning of episode 1. That dungeon break was not solved, They send attacks every years since the opening but no one was able fully eliminate the ants
-SPOILER- The incident that you are wondering about the gate break happened on the island of Jeju shown in the first episode, and monsters took over the island. So I think it was still meaningful to be put in the first episode
Nono the ants from episode 1 was a flashback 3 years ago before the present time. No spoilers, the ants seemed to be outside the gate so that scene was a dungeon break.
Poor guy, that ending made him even more confused then other cliffhanger. It's a system made by the administrator and the hint on who that administrator is, you should watch episode 2 in detail.
Yes there are gates that they cannot defeat. It will be mentioned in later episodes so I will not spoil it. Also the scene with the ants in the beginning happens three years before. And will also be mentioned in later episodes.
Lol, all of your questions will be answered. The real story starts next episode. Oh, and the scene with the ants was a flashback. We'll get details on that whole situation eventually.
Just to answer your question about the monsters going out? Yes they already did on Jeju Island the Humongous Ants are from a Dungeon that was not cleared after the time limit
The ants thing in episode 1 was a dungeon break. That's why they were in a ruined modern city. I'm also pretty sure that was the past though??? It did say "three years earlier" at the start, followed by "three years later" afterwards. And I remember characters in the Manhwa talking about fighting the ants years ago.
17:30 The part with the ants always happened 'in the timeline' before this stuff with the statues, just in the manwha we don't see it until some characters talk about it via flashbacks later, which will likely happen in the anime at some point. In the manwha, We start directly with this double dungeon and the statues, which means a lot of characters that we've already seen in the anime also aren't introduced until later in the manwha. Personally I liked the changes, it paces things better. It's not really messing with the intended story either.
The thing that happens at the beginning of ep1 with the ants happened 3 years ago, it was a dungeon break (and yes there has been a few dungeon breaks in the past), but yes they do deal with ants again later down the line.... But everything will be explained lol
17:53 "What I'm wondering is: has there been a dungeon break that has been horrific in history?" Yes, there has been two, maybe three, dungeon breaks that have been horrific. However, if the statue of Cartenon is worse.
Basically that window notification means is Jinwoo accpeting to be a player and he clicked yes!!! Just read the subtitle and pay attentions because the faster your are reading the better way to understand the story on the anime!!!
in the original LN, the first scene with the ants is their first raid on that island which did take place 3 years ago. this isnt really much of a spoiler but they do go back to that island where they were pertaining to in the manhwa
Love the Videos. Absolutely LOVE Solo Leveling- read the web comic multiple times and own hard copies. Two minor spoiler points - Dungeons appeared 10 years ago. Jeju Island, the Island of Ants happened ~4 years ago and they FAILED. It's gotten so bad they have to send stronger people this time. Those white ants are weaklings compared to what is coming. - The premise of Solo Leveling is Literally the name of the next episode. He's the only person that can level up, literally.
17:50 The scene at the opening of the anime took place 3 years before now. And that is the result of a dungeon break. That dungeon isn't cleared till later in the story. Also because of the dungeon break , it made an entire island uninhabitable.
I haven’t watched the episode nor video yet, but I just want to share that the creepy face used in thumbnail I knew from one piece, since a ton of fan theories put that face for a person who we’ve only seen in silhouettes so far and I had no idea what the face was actually from
as someone who read the Manwha, get ready for some insanly epic sceens. So happy it got a propper Adaptation. Also the Ant Dungeon break at that island was the most Insane one ever. Almost all S Rank Hunter where there and had imense strugles and didn't even make it to the boss. Alos also, fun fact the Boss room they are in is about the size as a Football field and the Statue of God is about the Size of the Statue of Liberty (or about a Colossal Titan).
18:00 Yea a Dungoen break occured with those ants and an entire Island was taken over by monsters and the beggining of th 1 ep is later in the series like few years later.
Dayum. I kinda like the girl with fringe's design too. the one with ants where we got introduced to the S rank hunters were from 3 years ago. I don't remember if the first ever dungeon break was ever mentioned in the novel or manhwa but the ants was definitely a dungeon break. dungeon break means monsters inside can come out so as long as there are monsters outside, we can assume there is a dungeon break somewhere. you will understand next week 😁
Yooo. People do not waltz into dungeons directly, they have to go through the association and apply for an entry permit with a full list of the members partipicating in the raid. The Hunters Association then decides who is allowed into the gate. The higher the rank of a gate, the scarcer it is amd the bigger the loot is, so occasionally the bigger guilds go to auctions and bid off eachother to get the entry permit for the higher gates.
SOLÉM IRMÃOS, hoje é mais uma solo feira 😂😂😂 no manhwa o cara que faz oração aí ele canta um hino evangélico, isso é muito bom estou ansioso por o que estar por vir ❤🎉❤❤😢
These first two episodes really set up the different levels of danger the groups will find themselves in depending on a dungeon, while also setting up what complacency does to groups in this world. It's heavily hinted at that complacency and greed are the two biggest "Death Flags" that rule why characters die in the series.
26:47 "Visible Confusion" No, that wasn't part of the ED, though the ED does blend well with those last three scenes. What does it mean? SPOILERS Jin-Woo is the only one with a system that allows him to level up, and those three screens was the system reaching out to him for the first time.
4:48 I'm callin' it.. that is the most GUTTERAL "wtf" from Luke, in his entire life, right there... voice, face, gettin' knocked back in his chair.. yep... no other WTF from his lips will ever compare now 😁
My gosh! Kudos to everyone involved in this anime. What a way to honor the late Dubu's artwork, man. You can really feel the emotions, the desperation, the frustration, the fear, the agony. The only thing I wished was there should've been more episodes than planned (which is sadly only 12 eps for the uninitiated) but I'll trust the studio and let them cook because so far it has been a delight. I hope it at least gets to the part where someone arose 🙏
The anime just read in your mind 1:57 😂 And also for your question at 3:07, they have to defeat it so they didn't ever let them escape intentionaly, but there's one raid that let its monsters break through the portal and it'll be an entire arc. You'll see it later if it's adaptated in the first season but i think it's a bit too late in the manwha so it unfortunately won't be adaptated i guess.
While reading the manhwa, even with the drawings being there, I couldnt really envision how the statues played the instruments. Now that i got to see it, im more or less satisfied, especially with the amazing soundtrack!
The ending mean, that always the final reward from dungeons/demiplanes were some insanly OP items or great or even massive amount of mana crystals/gems but because this was the top tier dungeon and even until the end there was nearly litterly no rewards for hunters in any way, the only meaningle reward was here for the 1st time ever an ABILITY and very unique one. This unique dungeon also start very unique story plot you will find out much later maybe even at the end of season 2 or 3, it matters on how much detailed about evens of the story the A1 Pictures want to be. ... But i have only one nice tip to mess with your blowing mind, the most dangerous creature wasnt the gient but the smallest one, the one little angel with the commendants :D
Wait, do you think they'll use the word 'arise' tho? Since i can't read hangul/korean words. Did the original korean manhwa/novel said 'arise' inbenglish or korean?
the ant raid that happened the first few minutes during episode 1 is something that's already happened. The reason why people in the comments said that it happens in the future is just because they're confused. All I'll say is: SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!! They revisit that place later in the story. That's all I'll say. Edit: as for your question regarding, if there has been a horrific dungeon break? Just watch more episodes. Edit 2: That text bubble at the end was part of the episode.
The scene with the ants is actually a prequel scene - that dungeon break raid failed and the island was abandoned years before the story starts, but the ants will become a problem again in a later arc. There is also a plotline regarding the worst/biggest dungeon break but discussing that would be spoilers.
The thing with the ants is a dungeon break that happened around 3 years ago, the scene you saw is how they tried to defeat the ants, however they failed, in the moment the ants are trapped on this Island so nobody cares about them but later on the ants are able to leave the island so they have to stop them. That is why mc has to fight them later on even though the first fight(the one we have seen at the start) happened long ago
Reading both LN and Manhwa on this chapter was intense. The anime adaptation made it even more intense and brutal. Not gonna power trip on what's gonna happen next, but it's going to be a bit crazy.
the first scene was in the past, on that island was a dungeon (think it was s rank) that broke. why people think it is in the future is.. well there is a island with s rank monsters, it will play a role the screen at the end was not part of the ending, he said it himself. they need to stay until the last blue flame goes out. and 0.02 befor he is killed, the flame goes out
yes there been a few Gate Breaks, the island you saw at the start with the Ant was a S rank Gate Break allowing the Atns to over run the island which they were raiding.
Yes the gate with the ants in the first ep is an S rank gate. its still not cleared yet and they had to abandon the whole jeju island because of the outbreak.
The ants island was a dungeon break that happened in that island (it was a rank s dungeon), the funny thing is that it was not the worst one, it goes to the kamish dungeon in america, it's remeber as the worse calamity ever happened, for the moment at least!
so the Ant part in the first episode was happen few years before this main story it was one of the biggest dungeon break , that make them leave the whole island unhabitable because of the ant monster great to see you enjoying SOLO LEVELING !
The thing with ant dungeon is that, it was an S rank dungeon that couldn't be cleared in due time and had dungeon break. As we saw in the first episode the hunters were trying to kill the ants that came outside but because it was very high rank dungeon, they couldn't beat it and that dungeon break was left alone. As it was an island, there was no one living there anymore. they left that island as it is, brimming with ants as they can not cross the ocean. In the future we might see some ant action again...
Answering your question about the worst dungeon break ever recorded... It happened in the USA. Rank S dungeon break... The boss was a dragon named kamish. Several S ranks died trying to stop it but there were 5 among the rank S sent to defeat it that were able to overwelm it... After this incident they came to be known as National Level Hunters, far superior to normal S ranks.
There have been multiple dungeons breaks. The one scene with the ants was a dungeon break that happened 3 years ago. (Spoiler) They do make an appearance later on.
Bro was praying to the wrong god at 9:00 that's why he got stepped on, crazyy 17:45 to answer your questions without a spoil, it was mentioned in this episode that gates have only started appearing for 10 years, and the first scene (with the ants) in episode one is indeed a setup for something to come waaaay later. I don't think even in manga it was stated how many times it has happened, but there have been instances of monsters getting out after the raid was unsuccessful which lead to a catastrophy.

To answer a few questions:
The raid from episode 1 with the ants was the 3rd Juju Island raid from 3 years ago and it's because an S-Rank gate broke.

About dungeon breaks.
But it was explained way later (and also briefly) in the webtoon so I won't say much here
^ This is correct
@@Drew01886Agree to agree
So many spoilers

15:08 "These freaky ass statue needs to... just piss off"
I'm marking it so that you can remember this again when the time comes😏
that ending is basically his newly acquired power: the User Interface.
Luke so often asks something and 3 seconds later is like: maybe i should just shup up? Lmao so funny😂😂
Always... Just always 😂😂
The ending (the becoming a player thing) is part of the story and will get explained through out :)
To answer you question about the Game like UI. At the end of the episode he does click yes. In the next episode it will explain more on the UI
@@coltonsarvela9877It wasn't a question, I was trying very hard to be spoiler free. I've read the novel and a lot of the manhwa.
0:52 "How does he know that? Is that how it works?"
He doesn't know and is making assumptions.
3:07 "Have they ever encountered or opened a gate that they could not defeat the thing on the other side?"
Yes. It occurred often at the start. I can't go further than that without entering spoiler territory.
5:27 "Maybe if you/they show some praise?"
First, they have to get past the reverence part of the commandments. Praise comes second.
14:08 "I don't think his leg's coming back."
Regenerating limbs is a feat only A-Rank and above healers are able to accomplish.
17:28 "How many years ago did the dungeon breaks happen?"
It's been 10 years since the gates first started appearing.
The fact that the composer of the soundtrack is Hiroyuki Sawano (composer of the AoT soundtrack) raises the epicity to the next level.
2:24, honestly, just ask the question. Formulating a question, saying it and then receiving an answer keep that answer in your brain for far longer than not doing so. It can never hurt to retain information. Just ask the question and let the series answer xD
The ants on the first episode was a dungeon break that happened already, more will be explained later.
Interesting 🤔
Poor Luke... things will get betterish soon... No spoilers, but you'll find out why it's called "Solo Leveling", soon enough. But this anime/manhwa is great at making you care about the characters early on.
Side note, since you asked, the giant bugs/ants are an "ongoing problem". That's the only thing I can say without many spoilers lol
🤔🤔
😢 the sacrifice scene is more horrific than in manga. I also got teary eyed. The cliffhanger is so painful lol. I really hope the episodes are longer
About the ants in the first episode, that was the initial attempt to clear the dungeon 3 years ago (which failed).
I think something actually changed in my brain when the statue started singing, I love how they where part of the soundtrack.
The thing which they shown in the first episode the big fight it was what happened 3 years ago. They even say it in narration 3 years ago.
17:37 "Also, something I find really interesting is that people were saying, that in episode 1, the scene with the ants is actually something that happens way later."
People are mistaken - it clearly says in the next scene, where Sung Jin-Woo is introduced, "Three Years Later".
Probably wasnt the best explanation but it is something like that, they made use of past events to actually show the power level of S rank hunters, just so we can start the anime with a bit of epicness
since you asked about the ant raid in the beginning of the first episode here is a slight spoil (Not to heavy of a spoiler)
The ant raid was a dungeon break they were trying to contain. that was the second time they went to the island the kill the ants.
I think people meant more that in the manhwa we got to know about the ants a lot later
People just missed that big *3 Years Ago* text on screen it seems. 😂
Right it was there twice, people just too eager to throw out spoilers
About the questions you made during the video,
The first one about the dungeon break, yes, There is a list of the worst dungeons breaks in the last 10 years, the worst was 1 years after the portals starting showing up in North america and if I'm not wrong almost 10 million people died, the worst last one was the dungeon break in Jeju island, That happen 3 years ago, it's the ants scene, from the beginning of episode 1. That dungeon break was not solved, They send attacks every years since the opening but no one was able fully eliminate the ants
-SPOILER-
The incident that you are wondering about the gate break happened on the island of Jeju shown in the first episode, and monsters took over the island. So I think it was still meaningful to be put in the first episode
Along with other stuff, but I hope it's explained when we get there.
We meet Edgy Beerus
17:53 "What I'm wondering is: has there been a dungeon break that has been horrific in history?"
Yes, there has been two, maybe three, dungeon breaks that have been horrific.
Two minor spoiler points
- Dungeons appeared 10 years ago.
17:50
The scene at the opening of the anime took place 3 years before now.
31:38 "Is he dead? Is he in gonna be in some kinda time loop."
Evil Cartenon statue grin.
Ok this animé reinvented violence Oh my God it's crazy!
The smile on the statue made me think at the smiling titan in AOT's 1st episode
28:52 he just straight up describing Saw
The first scene in first episode was a Dungeon break in the past It happened way back years ago
These first two episodes really set up the different levels of danger the groups will find themselves in depending on a dungeon, while also setting up what complacency does to groups in this world. It's heavily hinted at that complacency and greed are the two biggest "Death Flags" that rule why characters die in the series.
26:47 "Visible Confusion"
No, that wasn't part of the ED, though the ED does blend well with those last three scenes. What does it mean? SPOILERS
Jin-Woo is the only one with a system that allows him to level up, and those three screens was the system reaching out to him for the first time.
4:48
I'm callin' it.. that is the most GUTTERAL "wtf" from Luke, in his entire life, right there... voice, face, gettin' knocked back in his chair.. yep... no other WTF from his lips will ever compare now 😁
The anime just read in your mind 1:57 😂
And also for your question at 3:07, they have to defeat it so they didn't ever let them escape intentionaly, but there's one raid that let its monsters break through the portal and it'll be an entire arc.
My wish for this anime was that Song-Ye and Jinah's friendship would get more development, so I'm really happy for their scene in this episode.
Not gonna lie we gonna love this series
Arise will be music to our ears ❤
In 1st episode Opening scene was 3 years ago. That Dungeon wasn’t cleared in time and that goes Dungeon Break.
Actually there is gate that has not been cleared also know as juju island gate it would cleared by mc afterwards
the first scene was in the past, on that island was a dungeon (think it was s rank) that broke. why people think it is in the future is.. well there is a island with s rank monsters, it will play a role
the screen at the end was not part of the ending, he said it himself. they need to stay until the last blue flame goes out. and 0.02 befor he is killed, the flame goes out
yes there been a few Gate Breaks, the island you saw at the start with the Ant was a S rank Gate Break allowing the Atns to over run the island which they were raiding.
Yes the gate with the ants in the first ep is an S rank gate. its still not cleared yet and they had to abandon the whole jeju island because of the outbreak.
The confusion on your face because of that ending 😂 I can't wait for the 3rd episode
Aw I wanna give you a hug after this one man. You looked so damn worried.
Song Chiul is a good sidecast. Actually a good leader despite what is going down.
Solo Leveling is not a direct translation of the title, it is also translated as 'Only I Level Up'
The ants island was a dungeon break that happened in that island (it was a rank s dungeon), the funny thing is that it was not the worst one, it goes to the kamish dungeon in america, it's remeber as the worse calamity ever happened, for the moment at least!
so the Ant part in the first episode was happen few years before this main story
it was one of the biggest dungeon break , that make them leave the whole island unhabitable because of the ant monster
great to see you enjoying SOLO LEVELING !
"..but this… does put a SMILE on my face."
my boy Sung Drip Woo about to embark on his daily grind fr 🙏
Answering your question about the worst dungeon break ever recorded... It happened in the USA. Rank S dungeon break... The boss was a dragon named kamish. Several S ranks died trying to stop it but there were 5 among the rank S sent to defeat it that were able to overwelm it... After this incident they came to be known as National Level Hunters, far superior to normal S ranks.
The "player" popup is part of the episode.
Also yeah this whole thing is 10/10 to me, read the whole thing twice last year.
If there is a player system in the world, it means that the world is on the verge of destruction!
The episode with the ants happened 3 years ago. But we will see more about that soon.
There have been multiple dungeons breaks. The one scene with the ants was a dungeon break that happened 3 years ago. (Spoiler)
They do make an appearance later on.
Welcome to the REAL Solo Leveling from now on. They absolutely KILLED this (no pun intended). The singing statue queue legit made me tear up.
AND CAN WE TALK ABOUT HOW FUCKING FIRE THAT ANIME INTRO AND OST IS LIKE WHATTTTT?!?!
The beginning of episode 1 is something that happened but the manhwa didn't show it, only mentioning it so that's something extra the anime added
Bro was praying to the wrong god at 9:00 that's why he got stepped on, crazyy
17:45 to answer your questions without a spoil, it was mentioned in this episode that gates have only started appearing for 10 years, and the first scene (with the ants) in episode one is indeed a setup for something to come waaaay later. I don't think even in manga it was stated how many times it has happened, but there have been instances of monsters getting out after the raid was unsuccessful which lead to a catastrophy.
