    I'm a guitar player and have one of these (w/maple board) that I just have for fun/recording. I was asked to play a gig with a pick up band recently and had MULTIPLE people come up to me and compliment my bass tone after we were done. Go figure.

    The Sonic series bass and guitars are pretty good for the price and also solid mod platforms. A lot of people just swap the stock pickup on broncos for a dual rail humbucker.

    It seems to me that it has more character than the CV Mustang Bass, the original microphone is already good (unlike the Sq Mustang Bass). With good strings (Flatwound) and a well-tuned amp, this little bass is a pleasure and versatile

    Its really "cheap" if you compare it to fender MIM / USA, but..
    Ehat about Harley benton, short scale with jazz pick up on the bridge and split P bass on middle plus 3 way toggle and alder body and grphite nut, carmlized maple neck, costs maybe 100 dollar more plus shipping 😅

    Yeah, the Snark booklet that came with my tuner says not to leave it on there while playing. Good enough for me. Last night I was at a jam and.... saw several tuners on guitars.

      Great little basses that don't cost much! Squier basses always have some pro's and con's, but they are consistent for the price point and occasionally far exceed that. Thanks for watching - Anthony

      @@PanoramaUnion I owned an affinity series bronco for a little bit, it wasn't very versatile or dimensional, but it was light and played well... so it's either a great beginner instrument or, especially now with the standard fender bridge and gotoh style tuners, a rockin' modding platform

    I'm thinking of getting my first short scale bass for recording at home, and I need your advice! I've been checking out the Squier Sonic Bronco and the Squier Classic Vibe Mustang. They also make a short scale precision, called the mini precision. In that case, no.
      Unless you are really small though, learning on a full scale instrument won't be any harder than a short scale.

    • @sd3falco
      @sd3falco Год назад +2

      @@thierry18 I assumed he or she was asking about a full scale precision. But yeah, that mini Pbass is even shorter. I think it's around 28" scale.

    • @EmpireMusicPgh
      @EmpireMusicPgh  Год назад +3

      Short scale is really good to learn on for some players. That said, we sell a lot of standard-scale to beginners as well. I always suggest getting a few in your hands and let your personal feel guide you. These are always VERY popular models for beginners though! Thanks for watching - Anthony

    I know this isn't the topic of the video but I don't like seeing tuners stuck to the top of guitars and basses either. But worse than that are the tablets and phones mounted in front of everybody. This is made worse if all they do is look down at it. I feel like I'm essentially watching a lesson as opposed to a performance.

    • @EmpireMusicPgh
      @EmpireMusicPgh  Год назад +1

      Various reasons for the tablets/phones. Sometimes it's charts, sometimes it's lyrics, and sometimes it's an in-ear monitor control. The nature of those items impacting a good performance makes them ok to me. lol!! Thanks for watching! - Anthony

    1. You really need to stop slapping the strings at the frets on bass....... it's not a guitar.
    2. You should really be able to set your instrument up - *everyone* should be able to.
    3. My Tahitian came out of the box with terrible high action and the factory strings are just abrasive and garbage. Popped up flatwounds (nicely rounding the tone of the otherwise bright and not-so-low-end pickup) and sounds lovely.
