The father controls the money in this family. The children should have received salaries. The rules that apply to child actors should have applied here.
Especially once they became 18 and still working for TLC. As adults they should have been able to make their own financial decisions. If he really had their best interest at heart he would have wanted them to teach them financial management and let them make a couple of mistakes.
I am confused though, she says that her source says that Josiah got married so that JB didn’t cut his funds off, yet in another video she said that Derek and Jill (also married) admit they aren’t paid for being on the show and only JB makes the money. So I’d think that this means if Josiah got married, he would also not reap any financial benefits from JB. I’m confused lol

I still dont understand how legally the adult kids dont get paid separately from TLC?!?! Each cast member on all TLC's shows are typically paid separately. I also have 3 adult kids. 2 boys and a daughter in law. I love her as much as I love the boys, on their wedding day I gave her mom a card and I wrote in it, thank you for sharing Chrissy with us. I also got the three of us matching necklaces with our birthstones and the jewelry store made in script our names with the birthstones.
I also have adult children and we are very close they are both married to wonderful girls and I have 4 grandchildren, my sister in law is very controlling towards her adult children and their spouses and it’s always some conflicts going on. You have to respect your adult children if not they shutting you out at the end of the day.
Wow, I don't usually comment on videos, but I just had to speak up here. Coincidentally, my husband and I got married a week before Josiah and Lauren did and we also lost our first pregnancy during our first year of marriage. There are no words to describe that kind of pain and the profound effect that it can have on a normal, healthy marriage. We've been in counseling for the past several months and we are still struggling to come to terms with that devastating loss. Did you know that 40% of women who have a miscarriage will show clinical symptoms of PTSD for up to 3 years afterward? Please don't assume that there "has to be more" than that immense tragedy that is making Lauren feel sad and depressed. That is more than enough of a reason. I've always been thankful that she is willing to speak up about her experience and use her public platform to bring awareness to the fact that miscarriages matter and deserve attention.

Yep. I lost my first pregnancy almost 10 yrs ago. Soon after I was hospitalized due to just extreme depression/anxiety to the whole thing. I remember speaking to the dr about it(while in the hospital) and he said not many people really think or believe how much a miscarriage, no matter how soon it happened, can affect a woman more than they realize. You can still get PPD (and PTSD of course), and in some cases, that PPD can effect women for years*---sometimes up to 3 yrs without treatment. Everyone is different of course, but PPD can affect marriages as well. I got pregnant fairly quick after my loss which tbh made my hormones and mental health go even more crazy.🤷🏻♀️
What about Joe & Kendra? If she isn't the sad, baby deer in the headlights, then I don't know who is. Anna started out like that, Michelle is still that way. And oddly enough, Ben looks at Jessa that way.
And parents who want to control their kids forever intentionally handicap them and withhold the life skills they need so they are forever dependent. It is sick.

I had two miscarriages my first year of marriage. The only reason it wasn’t a completely sad year for me is that my husband was so loving and supportive and the two tragedies brought us closer rather than apart. It made me fall even more in love with him and appreciate him even more. As awful as those events make someone feel, the person you’re with can really change how hard the experience hits you. I agree grieving is a personal thing but it does say a little something about their relationship esp considering it was still the newlywed stage.
Especially since when Michelle had a pregnancy loss they did this whole big mourning thing about it but Lauren is just meant to act like it was a sweater she forgot the bus and just move on.
My first 10 years of marriage was a nightmare, I married a Chinese man between personalities, culutural differences and some anger issues that my husband needed help for o, it was a very rough and not happy marriage. Throw in cancer on my part and needing help to conceive child ren marriage is difficult. We worked through it with lots of marriage counseling and support from family and friends. The first year of marriage is not always the happiest time. As for Josiah being “gay”. Having worked with boys who wereSA as a child , makes me wonder if maybe his older brother might have SA him as well as the girls and it has not been brought to light.
My first year of marriage was a nightmare lol. But 7 years later I love my husband more than anything. Just because the first year of marriage is rough doesn’t mean it’s not strong.

I’m just glad Derick got him and his family away from Jim Bob and is helping his wife how unhealthy the family dynamic is. There’s clearly no boundaries, especially with the text monitoring, date chaperoning, and forcing their adult children to uphold clothing rules and all that. I’m very religious and I’ll definitely raise my kid in my religion, but I want my kids to grow up to know how to think for themselves and make their own choices. I would rather my kid make a choice I disapproved because they truly believed what they were doing was right than make choices because I wanted them to make those choices. It’s unhealthy to have an iron fist like this. Also, marriage is not a problem solver, it’s a lifelong commitment for people who know and love and respect each other. Arranging a marriage because you don’t want to deal with your kid isn’t a solution, it just means you’re wrong about something.
You sound like a very good parent, but be careful with raising your children around people like the Duggars who may attempt to indoctrinate them, bypassing your methods of allowing your children to think freely and either choose to be religious or not! Good luck
Being very "religious" doesn't mean one is spiritual, nor have had a spiritual awakening, or Christ like. I'm very leery of people who use terms like "I'm very religious" because in my experience, they have a cult mentality and in some way are extremely unbalanced and toxic. Not saying that you're brainwashed or not spiritual, I just think people confuse being religious with being spiritual, and they aren't the same thing.

I've never seen Michelle do much to take care of a single child! Shes sure around to take the credit for them though! I've watched/followed the Duggars since 2007, and always was aware of who they were and what they stood for. I genuinely liked (some of) them and always wished them the best. But I secretly hoped it really wasn't as bad as people said it was. Watching all of these videos makes everything make so much more sense now, unfortunately.

Robin Rae the only time recently I can recall Lauren looking Semi-OK is when Jill met with the girls and they went to target and Lunch with Jinger in town. Jill was holding Lauren’s baby. I wonder if Lauren connects with Jill when she sees her. In Jessa’s video it looked like Lauren has no connection with any of the girls.
Yeah that whole thing shocked me when Anna didnt leave Josh...I would be afraid for my daughters if he had those tendencies and the disrespect towards her in that cheating scandal! And didn't Mrs. Duggar tell Anna it was her fault if that happened?! I think that’s the reason why there is issues with Derrick( Jills husband) and Jeromy ( Ginger husband). They see how their wives were treated as kids growing up they lived to much of a sheltered life. They have no life experiences, no dating, going to prom, strict dress code they weren’t allowed to wear what they wanted, had no friends outside of their own small circle mostly their own brothers and sisters were their only friends. Most kids that come from large families have part time jobs after school, play sports, or other recreational activities, and start to become a little more independent. These kids go on chaperoned dates, marry way to young and rush into marriage, , how are you suppose to know this person if you cant spend any time alone with them. After you marry someone is not the time to get to know them, It’s no wonder there are martial problems. I feel JimBob and Michelle have set these kids up to fail in every aspect of their lives.

When Josiah was very young, I pointed out he was pretty obviously gay. I watched faithfully and always noticed that about him... but what I also noticed was he had the most pompous, holier-than-thou attitude of all of the children, and I sometimes wondered if it was an affectation; perhaps he developed a style that was meant to throw his folks (and himself) off the scent of his sexuality. Then he got married... so I thought maybe I was wrong, but nothing about it has appeared natural or comfortable to me, so I developed my own theory- Marjorie was his childhood friend who actually did like/love him, then figured out he was gay and "rebelious," and ended the courtship, so someone (Jimmy Boy) stuck him with Lauren (who deserves something else herself). So this vlog definitely makes me feel more sane for realizing I'm not alone in these thoughts!
I definitely think Josiah is gay, and Lauren wanted the fame of being a Duggar and that's how their marriage happened. I feel bad for both of them Josiah just wants to be free and live his life away from this cult. Lauren didn't know what she was getting into, and she is just doing what she thinks she has to do. She always seems so sad and I think dissolving their marriage would be better for both of them.

Watching the episode where Lauren gave birth, and seeing how she relied on Josiah through the labor and delivery, along with how loving and tender he was throughout, convinced me that they truly love each other.
I think he loves Lauren as a person and he loves his daughter, but its pretty clear that he's gay. No shame in that at all, it's just so sad that he'll never be allowed to live his life the way he wants to and that Lauren was forced to marry a man that isn't attracted to her. The whole situation is just heartbreaking.
If he is gay, he was BORN that way, he did not choose this for himself. He should be free to Be himself, straight or gay, it makes no difference. Love is love. I know this as i am the proud Mother of a gay son. God loves everybody.

This is not a place to go for rehab or discipline. Many of the young people that go here go into the military. Some even go into firefighting and police. It is in three stages. What is being said is not true. Another thing is that when asked about doing TLC JimNon and Michelle told them they had struggles with their teenage son. TLC said who does not have struggles with teens in their home. They shared how they do things the best they know and hoping to help their children not have regrets. Lauren is sweet and so is Josiah. Back in 2016 my mom took me (homeschooled, Christian, newly 13 years old) to a lecture of Michelle's with Doterra (I think that who it was with, not sure). My cousin and I ended up walking out mid-lecture for a bathroom break and caught Josiah by himself at a snack table. My cousin and I got the chance to talk to him and get some selfies. It was a weird experience looking back, especially knowing what I do now.
One day a Duggar will come out as gay. I’m gay and so is my brother and we lived in a house like the Duggar’s growing up where we were “controlled” and it was HELL, but everyone else was always like, “your family is so perfect!” We were ANYTHING but perfect our parents tried to “prey the gay away” but you see how that worked out for them. I too am gay. I grew up in the house from hell! Literally, fighting for my life on several occasions. Yet, we had money, and our home, cars and lives looked like upper middle class. There was no help for me, as I grew up in the 60's.
My mom has said for years, that one or more of the kids will write a tell all book. It may be sooner than later. While it might get them sued, it also might be a liberation for all the other kids to be honest about all the goings on. From being an. Interesting family making their own laundry detergent, to becoming molested, controlled kids/adults, how sad.

He spent years living a lie in emotional pain, raising a large family only to end up absolutely destroying Lois by telling her he’s gay and always was, after decades of a marriage based on a lie. I think you're absolutely right these children have been indoctrinated into a world that they did not ask to be born into and at a certain age these children should have the right to make their own decisions and not be put into arranged marriages or be expected to live the lifestyle that their parents lived. We don't ask to be born and we should respect our children the same way we would expect our parents to respect our decisions
Can't wait for TLC to finally pull the plug on this family. It is such an unhealthy family, borders on criminal the way they treat their kids, even the adult ones. It would not surprise me one bit if this marriage is arranged, I think in some way all the marriages so far are. The kids have no way to meet someone on their own terms, it's always within their small bubble, and with their dad right there every step of the way.

Josh did not go to ALERT. He was sent to a construction camp run by IBLP in Little Rock. And Josiah "only" spent 9 months at ALERT. But yeah, other Duggar brothers only spent one tour of duty there (9 weeks).

My favorite aunt was very, very religious. Not like the Duggars though. I asked her once what she thought about them. She said I think they should let them go to school and be around other children because they're going to have to be around other people when they're grown. On another occasion I asked her what she thought about gay people, if she thought it was a sin. She told me about once having baby sat a boy who she knew was "different". As an adult he came out and she wasnt at all surprised/still loved him so she said God makes gay people gay and God doesnt make mistakes. She went on to add they cant help who they want to love anymore than we can. Is it any wonder she was my favorite aunt?

This is so sad and weird...I have 3 daughters 20,14&12 and I encourage independence in them.I encourage them to have their own views on things even if I don’t agree,I couldn’t imagine telling my oldest what to do and how she can and can’t live her life!!! I thought a long time ago that he was gay. Just seemed like it, and when the Josh thing came out, I excepted to hear that Josiah came out. I hoped that, because it would be a sign of living your true life. I was also super shocked when I read he was getting married.... such as he did.
It’s not awful, it’s long widely perceived for a variety of reasons. I fully believe he’s gay and that’s why he had to do “hard time”. There was also that allusion long ago to a “minor corrective surgery” he needed shortly after birth. I don’t remember the source now but allegedly it was for hypospadias and/or possible ambiguous organs or some other intersex condition.
When you have 19 children it’s kind of hard to build a true relationship with your child. Maybe more time spent with your child and building a relationship instead of rules .Definately not 19 children.

I’ve always had a feeling about Josiah, and so sad if he’s been forced to repress his feelings and preference. With all the marriages, I definitely agree that some if not all are arranged. A lot of other religious groups do it too, and you basically can’t marry outside of your religion or you’ll be excommunicated.

There is speculation in this video. There is no evidence that Josiah is gay or that his maarriage to Lauren was arranged. Lauren has a right to be sad over the loss of her baby. That doesn't mean that her marriage is in trouble.
I think it's a stretch to assume her narrative about "weeding out the creepers" was a direct reference to a previous boyfriend. I am sure she's witnessed friends and family members lack discernment on who they date/entertain... Josiah is not her only frame of reference for relationship advice/warnings.

Watch Lauren get to the end of her patience and make it happen anyway! I would think that even with the ultra conservative Christian parents that if the reason that Lauren gave them was his orientation then she would get her parents support regardless of anything Jim Bob and Michelle tried to say to stop it. And honestly if that is true it could be what Josiah secretly is wishing for. All I know is it never works, mixed orientation marriages if everyone is being honest eventually they fail...because everyone deserves to live their truth and do what makes them happy!

I remember that pre-scandal a few Duggars said that the sibling Josiah was most similar to was Josh and Josiah is on camera saying Josh is the sibling he relates to the most and looks up to. I’ve always thought that was interesting given what has come to light. I feel for Josiah - he was such a sweet, confident little kid, always happily playing with JoyAnna, then adolescence hit and he just never seemed comfortable or truly happy anymore, Joy teamed up with the older girls but Josiah has never seemed that close to Joseph or the twins. He used to say he wanted to be an accountant, but instead he was told to do a book keeping course and set to work flipping cars and maintaining the Duggar rental properties. The father controls the money in this family. The children should have received salaries. The rules that apply to child actors should have applied here.
Especially once they became 18 and still working for TLC. As adults they should have been able to make their own financial decisions. If he really had their best interest at heart he would have wanted them to teach them financial management and let them make a couple of mistakes.
I am confused though, she says that her source says that Josiah got married so that JB didn’t cut his funds off, yet in another video she said that Derek and Jill (also married) admit they aren’t paid for being on the show and only JB makes the money. I also got the three of us matching necklaces with our birthstones and the jewelry store made in script our names with the birthstones.
I also have adult children and we are very close they are both married to wonderful girls and I have 4 grandchildren, my sister in law is very controlling towards her adult children and their spouses and it’s always some conflicts going on. You have to respect your adult children if not they shutting you out at the end of the day.

Wow, I don't usually comment on videos, but I just had to speak up here. Coincidentally, my husband and I got married a week before Josiah and Lauren did and we also lost our first pregnancy during our first year of marriage. There are no words to describe that kind of pain and the profound effect that it can have on a normal, healthy marriage. We've been in counseling for the past several months and we are still struggling to come to terms with that devastating loss. Did you know that 40% of women who have a miscarriage will show clinical symptoms of PTSD for up to 3 years afterward? Please don't assume that there "has to be more" than that immense tragedy that is making Lauren feel sad and depressed. That is more than enough of a reason. I've always been thankful that she is willing to speak up about her experience and use her public platform to bring awareness to the fact that miscarriages matter and deserve attention.
I'm so glad you said this. Women, doctors, everyone talks about it like it's a normal thing that happens to every woman. It's not normal.

Yep. I lost my first pregnancy almost 10 yrs ago. Soon after I was hospitalized due to just extreme depression/anxiety to the whole thing. I remember speaking to the dr about it(while in the hospital) and he said not many people really think or believe how much a miscarriage, no matter how soon it happened, can affect a woman more than they realize. You can still get PPD (and PTSD of course), and in some cases, that PPD can effect women for years*---sometimes up to 3 yrs without treatment. Everyone is different of course, but PPD can affect marriages as well. I got pregnant fairly quick after my loss which tbh made my hormones and mental health go even more crazy.🤷🏻♀️

I had two miscarriages my first year of marriage. The only reason it wasn’t a completely sad year for me is that my husband was so loving and supportive and the two tragedies brought us closer rather than apart. It made me fall even more in love with him and appreciate him even more. As awful as those events make someone feel, the person you’re with can really change how hard the experience hits you. I agree grieving is a personal thing but it does say a little something about their relationship esp considering it was still the newlywed stage.
Especially since when Michelle had a pregnancy loss they did this whole big mourning thing about it but Lauren is just meant to act like it was a sweater she forgot the bus and just move on.

My first 10 years of marriage was a nightmare, I married a Chinese man between personalities, culutural differences and some anger issues that my husband needed help for o, it was a very rough and not happy marriage. Throw in cancer on my part and needing help to conceive child ren marriage is difficult. We worked through it with lots of marriage counseling and support from family and friends. The first year of marriage is not always the happiest time. As for Josiah being “gay”. Having worked with boys who wereSA as a child , makes me wonder if maybe his older brother might have SA him as well as the girls and it has not been brought to light.

I’m just glad Derick got him and his family away from Jim Bob and is helping his wife how unhealthy the family dynamic is. There’s clearly no boundaries, especially with the text monitoring, date chaperoning, and forcing their adult children to uphold clothing rules and all that. I’m very religious and I’ll definitely raise my kid in my religion, but I want my kids to grow up to know how to think for themselves and make their own choices. I would rather my kid make a choice I disapproved because they truly believed what they were doing was right than make choices because I wanted them to make those choices. It’s unhealthy to have an iron fist like this. Also, marriage is not a problem solver, it’s a lifelong commitment for people who know and love and respect each other. Arranging a marriage because you don’t want to deal with your kid isn’t a solution, it just means you’re wrong about something.
You sound like a very good parent, but be careful with raising your children around people like the Duggars who may attempt to indoctrinate them, bypassing your methods of allowing your children to think freely and either choose to be religious or not! Good luck
Being very "religious" doesn't mean one is spiritual, nor have had a spiritual awakening, or Christ like. I'm very leery of people who use terms like "I'm very religious" because in my experience, they have a cult mentality and in some way are extremely unbalanced and toxic. Not saying that you're brainwashed or not spiritual, I just think people confuse being religious with being spiritual, and they aren't the same thing.

I've watched/followed the Duggars since 2007, and always was aware of who they were and what they stood for. I genuinely liked (some of) them and always wished them the best. But I secretly hoped it really wasn't as bad as people said it was. Watching all of these videos makes everything make so much more sense now, unfortunately.
Before the 2015 scandal, we would watch the show with my family and my mom would always say I wish our family was more like that...after it happened..she hasn’t spoken about the show at all.

Most kids that come from large families have part time jobs after school, play sports, or other recreational activities, and start to become a little more independent. These kids go on chaperoned dates, marry way to young and rush into marriage, , how are you suppose to know this person if you cant spend any time alone with them. After you marry someone is not the time to get to know them, It’s no wonder there are martial problems. I feel JimBob and Michelle have set these kids up to fail in every aspect of their lives.

When Josiah was very young, I pointed out he was pretty obviously gay. I watched faithfully and always noticed that about him... but what I also noticed was he had the most pompous, holier-than-thou attitude of all of the children, and I sometimes wondered if it was an affectation; perhaps he developed a style that was meant to throw his folks (and himself) off the scent of his sexuality. Then he got married... so I thought maybe I was wrong, but nothing about it has appeared natural or comfortable to me, so I developed my own theory- Marjorie was his childhood friend who actually did like/love him, then figured out he was gay and "rebelious," and ended the courtship, so someone (Jimmy Boy) stuck him with Lauren (who deserves something else herself). So this vlog definitely makes me feel more sane for realizing I'm not alone in these thoughts!

I definitely think Josiah is gay, and Lauren wanted the fame of being a Duggar and that's how their marriage happened. I feel bad for both of them Josiah just wants to be free and live his life away from this cult. Lauren didn't know what she was getting into, and she is just doing what she thinks she has to do. Watching the episode where Lauren gave birth, and seeing how she relied on Josiah through the labor and delivery, along with how loving and tender he was throughout, convinced me that they truly love each other.
I think he loves Lauren as a person and he loves his daughter, but its pretty clear that he's gay. No shame in that at all, it's just so sad that he'll never be allowed to live his life the way he wants to and that Lauren was forced to marry a man that isn't attracted to her. The whole situation is just heartbreaking.

This is not a place to go for rehab or discipline. Many of the young people that go here go into the military. Some even go into firefighting and police. It is in three stages. What is being said is not true. Another thing is that when asked about doing TLC JimNon and Michelle told them they had struggles with their teenage son. TLC said who does not have struggles with teens in their home. They shared how they do things the best they know and hoping to help their children not have regrets. Lauren is sweet and so is Josiah. He was one of the kindest and fun kids I know. It is so sad that your source is bitter to the Duggars enough to lie about much of this. Perfect people perfect parents. Mo. Who is. Back in 2016 my mom took me (homeschooled, Christian, newly 13 years old) to a lecture of Michelle's with Doterra (I think that who it was with, not sure). My cousin and I ended up walking out mid-lecture for a bathroom break and caught Josiah by himself at a snack table. My cousin and I got the chance to talk to him and get some selfies. It was a weird experience looking back, especially knowing what I do now.

I think you're absolutely right these children have been indoctrinated into a world that they did not ask to be born into and at a certain age these children should have the right to make their own decisions and not be put into arranged marriages or be expected to live the lifestyle that their parents lived. Can't wait for TLC to finally pull the plug on this family. It is such an unhealthy family, borders on criminal the way they treat their kids, even the adult ones. It would not surprise me one bit if this marriage is arranged, I think in some way all the marriages so far are. The kids have no way to meet someone on their own terms, it's always within their small bubble, and with their dad right there every step of the way.

Josh did not go to ALERT. He was sent to a construction camp run by IBLP in Little Rock. And Josiah "only" spent 9 months at ALERT. But yeah, other Duggar brothers only spent one tour of duty there (9 weeks).

My favorite aunt was very, very religious. Not like the Duggars though. I asked her once what she thought about them. She said I think they should let them go to school and be around other children because they're going to have to be around other people when they're grown. On another occasion I asked her what she thought about gay people, if she thought it was a sin. She told me about once having baby sat a boy who she knew was "different". As an adult he came out and she wasnt at all surprised/still loved him so she said God makes gay people gay and God doesnt make mistakes. She went on to add they cant help who they want to love anymore than we can. Is it any wonder she was my favorite aunt?

It’s not awful, it’s long widely perceived for a variety of reasons. I fully believe he’s gay and that’s why he had to do “hard time”. There was also that allusion long ago to a “minor corrective surgery” he needed shortly after birth. I don’t remember the source now but allegedly it was for hypospadias and/or possible ambiguous organs or some other intersex condition.

I’ve always had a feeling about Josiah, and so sad if he’s been forced to repress his feelings and preference. With all the marriages, I definitely agree that some if not all are arranged. A lot of other religious groups do it too, and you basically can’t marry outside of your religion or you’ll be excommunicated.

There is speculation in this video. There is no evidence that Josiah is gay or that his maarriage to Lauren was arranged. Lauren has a right to be sad over the loss of her baby. That doesn't mean that her marriage is in trouble.

I would think that even with the ultra conservative Christian parents that if the reason that Lauren gave them was his orientation then she would get her parents support regardless of anything Jim Bob and Michelle tried to say to stop it. And honestly if that is true it could be what Josiah secretly is wishing for. All I know is it never works, mixed orientation marriages if everyone is being honest eventually they fail...because everyone deserves to live their truth and do what makes them happy!

From all that I have heard about the Dugger's whether it is true or not, makes me sick to my stomach . I think TV period ruins these families . If these facts are true, I am in shock that any parent would treat their children like this especially if they are supposed to be Christian, Even God gives us free choice to choose how we will live life, He wants us to come to him freely because we want to, No parent should force their child to make a decision but respect their choice, if we raise our children the best we can with which is right or wrong, then we have done our best especially when keeping them in our prayers. Controlling a child forces them into sin or wrongful decisions . Let them breath and make their own choices.
I remember that pre-scandal a few Duggars said that the sibling Josiah was most similar to was Josh and Josiah is on camera saying Josh is the sibling he relates to the most and looks up to. I’ve always thought that was interesting given what has come to light.
I feel for Josiah - he was such a sweet, confident little kid, always happily playing with JoyAnna, then adolescence hit and he just never seemed comfortable or truly happy anymore, Joy teamed up with the older girls but Josiah has never seemed that close to Joseph or the twins. He used to say he wanted to be an accountant, but instead he was told to do a book keeping course and set to work flipping cars and maintaining the Duggar rental properties. You can see he would have chosen a different life if he had felt able to.
