It's a nice touch that you demonstrate how to install a Child's seat in every video. Kudos to you for that. However, I am wondering if this car has the Idle Engine Start-Stop Feature for better fuel economy. And if it does, what is it's effect on the car's performance in traffic jams in terms of jerkiness and engine response time. Other than that, Great Review! Light years ahead of PaulTan. =)
If this car were brought to the US and wasn't priced out of the segment, it would be a bestseller. I think VW underestimates the American Driving public if they were to do so. Too bad I've got a 2014 Passat SE with roof and 117000 trouble free miles. What's more reliable than any other car I've had, including my 2011 GTI with a DSG transmission that was manufactured in Germany that year. Reliable rock solid transportation with build quality, panel fit of Audi AND made in Chattanooga Tenn.! Original rear brakes recently replaced at 116,000 miles and original wiper blades. I bought it brand new, so I've luved with all 117,000 miles. V.W. Passat, DEFINATELY NOT a band aid box on wheels. You fill in the blanks on that one.
This is so much better than the American version of this car. In America this car is called the Passat, and it's nowhere near as good as this. Thankfully ours offers an optional 280 hp V6.
Does this car come with a ECO mode or is that the Blue Trainer option?, you skip over this one pretty fast in the video. I like the review of this car, it deffently makes me want to buy one
Yes Passat 2.0 comes with eco mode. But barely use it because it shift to highest gears sooner as possible to keep it eco. This car best leave it at comfort or normal mode which best suit for daily usage. Sport mode is just too harsh for engine sound with high rev and very stiff suspension (DCC control softness and stiffness).
GC you are the funniest guy. Yes, i would buy more power car as it is really fun to drive. But, GC can you compare with Audi A4? Looking forward to....
I'm looking to buy either the 2018 Pasaat b8 or a 2016 bmw 3 series. Any pros and cons? The 3 series has nothing compared to the Passat except badge style
Mister Umbrella Good question. I wonder how reliable is the car. DSG is notorious for giving lots of problems. Plus the electronics. Don’t want to buy a lemon car filled with lots of repair problems.
three things i would consider getting this car. 1.) CBU in Germany 2.) rear lights are boring, prefer a different design. 3.) R line interior and exterior package.
Passat although it CKD in Malaysia but all parts are coming from Wolfsburg Germany. Compare to Camry it is CBU made in Thailand whereby Accord is CKD in Malaysia but most components are from Thailand. So Camry and Accord are Thailand made with Japanese badge. If CKD is not acceptable for you then don't ever consider to own BMW and Merc as most of their cars are CKD in Malaysia too. Don't ever said VW assembly lousy as it has one of the highest SOP and same assembly areas with Merc in Pekan Pahang. For your 2nd and 3rd it can be done in aftermarket.
you sure this car won't visit the service center often? Seeing from the previous VW cars using DSG tech? Btw nice review GC mah. Subscribed! looking forward for your review on Honda BRV next.
zaryl2k bro, previous DSG DQ200 dry clutches engine came with some problem instead of wet clutches. Thanks for replying GC Mah, please take your time but if you don't mind.. please show us more affordable cars.. I know your previous episode on the Ferrari.. yeah.. is really cool and a dream car for most people.. but we are living in malaysia.. if you know what i mean.. so most people/majority of the people only can afford between A to C segment and D segment will be pushing as well in terms of monetary.. however as your fan here .. i really support all your videos and reviews.
You have just started following our channel? We have a whole lot of other reviews done in the past 2 years. From budget A segment to supercars. Check out our #isthiscar4you RUclips playlist :)
Well I would say this is the best D segment car in malaysia to date... and its even faster than bmw 320i. The only major concern that I have is the resale value. Brand new cost 200k but the value after 2-3 years could drop to 100k... such a sad reality for a beautiful car. Should rather wait for 2nd hand rather than buying brand new unit IMHO.
Sad but true, the conti cars are not able to hold resale value well. Not just VW, an E200 lost 150k in 3 years as well (or close to 50%), same goes for the C200 and 320i losing more than 100k in 3 years as well.
Good review. In Germany the highline comes with knee airbags as option! I found it quite disturbing and cheap of VW. Also I wonder if the seats come with memory function?
One serious question, why is the Golf GTI more expensive than the Passat 2.0 ? Golf TSI is 150k, GTI is 250k. That's a 100k difference because of the engine.
5 years later, and I’m still enjoying this car so much. 🥰
Got any major issue x bro?

Can share the 3 locations in this video, they are very nice
VW, you messed up not bringing this to the states and giving us a Camry wannabe!!!!!
Good review. In Germany the highline comes with knee airbags as option! I found it quite disturbing and cheap of VW.
Also I wonder if the seats come with memory function?
Yes, it comes with 2 memory for driver seat with massage function.
@@aeroline11 I gave up vw and now drive a Sportage. vw is a cheating lying company not worth of my business.
i like it when he said "Golf GTI in Business suit" hahaha
please review the volkswagen vento 1.2 , thxxxxxx
I wished the American Passat looked this nice. I refuse to buy a US one.
Wondering why America VW passat is still older generation B7 rather than the newer B8.
Can review Proton Persona? Thanks!
Post collision braking system?
Wish they had a GTI Passat
I love it
One serious question, why is the Golf GTI more expensive than the Passat 2.0 ?
Golf TSI is 150k, GTI is 250k. That's a 100k difference because of the engine.
I wonder that too. Means passat is much more worth
is the GB ok for Malaysia climate?
