Michael Evans said Why do I have to look cute to eat why can I look like J.J. LOL 😂
Florida Evans delivered some of the best lines in tv history.
So has James👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🥰❤️🖤💚✊🏾❤️🖤💚they all did🥰
Michael Evans (Lionel Jefferson) was the primary writer on "Good Times".
Her best line was "Damn, damn, damn!"
The parents were especially great actors.
ALL of them were👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🥰❤️🖤💚✊🏾❤️🖤💚
This show was brutal to watch. The acting was on par with a high school play, and the constant, predictable and unfunny "one liners" that were permeated within each episode almost made it impossible to get through a show. Amos and Rolle were definitely capable actors, but all the other ones in the cast, and in particular the children, were simply brutal in their horrible acting acumen. Maybe that's why you consider the parents "especially great actors", but in reality they were mediocre. The horrible supporting cast just made them look better than they were.
@@dyates6380, I disagree. I think Good Times is one of the top few greatest sitcoms of all time.
@Liberty - hey what show were you watching? Amos and Rolle had to leave the show over it's minstrel humor. Between jimmy walkers step n fetchit routine and making michael a militant dwarf (so that "black"activism could be looked at like a joke) Norman Lear showed you EXACTLY who he was...
Everyone needs a father like James
Mike your right this was my generation when we had married parents in the home and females appreciated their man and made them better and build together not putting the black man down 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 no feminism back then baby
I agree
@@tiffanycurtis4794That's not true. There was feminism back then; it just looked very different. It was healthier & actually stood for gender equality rather than female dominance like it does today. There were even more men who supported feminism back then
James was like my dad
Mine was
James' face took me out🤣
James' nose took me out😂
The greatest shows in history...The look on his face...priceless!
Strongest Nose in TV HAHAHAHA
James and Florida were concerned parents
These were the best ever TV shows growing up and when parents taught and raised kids and had values and morals
Just because James Evans didn't have a sixth grade education and didn't graduate high school he don't want to have to put his kids through the same thing he went through
I will always love dis show ❤❤
But he telling his son to go to art school. That’s a waste
You DO realize this was a television show and it's all make believe, right? LOOK at the state of black America today with the 76% bastardization rate and mostly non existent "fathers". Stop, please ............
Henrietta was so cute!!
Was She Pregnant by JJ???
Nope shoulda been
@@tiarawilliams8861nah ,its not his
JJ was dating Clarissa, the rich girl. When she went off to college, JJ went back to Henrietta only to find her pregnant by another dude.
Tina Andrews was/still is beautiful! There were so many pretty "natural" black actresses from the 70's!
I actually had a crush on Thelma ❤
Me too :-)
Me 2 I still do👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Who didn't have a crush on Thelma back then.
And she is still so beautiful beginning in her 70s
Same here! Watching this takes me way back😮
My Gosh Thelma is incredibly beautiful!! Absolutely perfect!.
So is Wilona 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🥰❤️🖤💚
Henrietta was often mentioned during Season 2 of Good Times
Ironically enough, J.J. spent most of his time just sliding by, but by the time the show ended, he was the most successful of the Evans children.
They should have had Henrietta on the show more often.
Why?
@@TheloniousJacksonshe's a good actor and would bring more great stories to the show. She's a good character.
@@TheloniousJacksonshe was talked about A LOT. they dropped the ball on not having her more on there.
James Evans Sr rage can be so extreme at times
All he wanted was the best and times were different then.
@@Miss.TJ516agreed tbh I get it my pops was the same way he can be at times
@@RashadSims-bh3zz 😊
Back in my generation when people were married before they had children this episode was truly a shock when it First aired
did you mean when people had kids out of wed lock ?
People have always had kids before marriage....it's not just this generation.
Not where I'm from...You must be from Mayberry🤣
@@Rose2gard That's exactly what she's saying😂
Damn, Thelma was fine.
And natural
She's still beautiful and her daughter is too!
I always loved this show
I'm 44 JJ cracks me up the father is tough but handsome Florida is sweet and Beautiful.
Wilona is sweet and beautiful also🥰❤️🖤💚✊🏾❤️🖤💚
I wanna say to the best of my knowledge I'm still not sure. This was the first time in the history of television a TV series addressed teenage pregnancy. Very deep and serious.
Thelma-I go in and out of this building everyday and nobody bothers me..
JJ-that’s because wiredos respect each other 😂😂
Classic brother and sister ranks!!!
I always Ctfu how the audience would go crazy over j j saying dynamite 🤣
You don't need no wife you need a mechanic
This show is the best darn good actors and there will never be another j.j darn good show and I love this show
The best of the best!
J.J. wanted to move up in life to a full time job and eventually he did during Season 4 of the show
YEP
But Norman Lear fired James Evans aka John Amos because he wanted the same for his family not Always struggling and JJ not saying silly dynamite all the time 🤔❤️🖤💚🥰❤️🖤💚 Mr Amos aka James Evans is still blessed 🥰
What a great show
Best episode ever!!
No it’s not
Some guys don't even want to take care of their own seed, so shout out to JJ for being open to helping her raise a baby that wasn't his......... My mom went to school with a couple in a similar situation, and they were married until she passed in her late 40's.........1 in a million kind of guy.❤
Thelma got on my nerves always putting JJ down
💯💯
That's typical of siblings
@@j.i.r608Sad
2:04 shotz fired!!
That show is so under rated.
JJ's reaction 😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀
Tina Andrews wrote the screenplay for the movie Why do fools fall in Love
Never knew that.
She's very talented and smart. Went on to produce and direct.
What a line that would make for a job interview and headlining a resume 0:48.
💖💝💖💝 I love this show 💛💙💛💙
Henrietta's mid-section has grown.
God bless you ❤
They dropped the ball not having Henrietta on the show more. She seemed like a sweet girl AND was mentioned plenty of times. She could had been a friend of the family
Awesome 😎👍👍 great show growing up to
Porsha from real housewives always reminds me of Thelma !! To me they look so similar
Michael Evans closer to being a teenager during Season 2
Lol JJ was just pathetic in this episode. He let his father punk him infront of his girl and it took him forever lettin' his parents know the baby wasnt his while they were freaking out. But he did get wiser in later seasons. JJ may have been funny but he was a funny-stupid in seasons 2 and 3. 5 and 6...he was alot better. Funny but mature. James would have been proud.
Well it was the writing of the show.
James sure would have been proud 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
He was supposed to be a teen what do you expect.
Black fathers needed.
JJ was a good guy! He wanted to get a full time job and marry her and take care a baby that wasn't his
Tina andrews was an underrated actress
Tina Andrews played Fred Sanford's niece on an episode of Sanford and Son.
@@GeminiladyJackson-xq6hc oh i didnt know that thanks
@@GeminiladyJackson-xq6hcshe played his wife and Esther’s niece Elizabeth. Fred remarked how much she resembles her namesake
@@TheloniousJacksonYou are a trivia champion 🏆. First, you know all about the soap operas and know you know all about the sitcoms.😊
@@GeminiladyJackson-xq6hc Tina also appeared on an episode of the Brady Bunch when Marcia was trying to to get Davy Jones to preform at her school. And she was also involved in an interracial relationship on Days of our lives!
I loved everyone on this show. No shows are made this good anymore
Thanks to Esther Rolle for the laughs 😅
tina was in conrack movie and room 222 before this
Florida told JJ he was too broke to get married..wasnt James broke tho?
James was a adult.
I MISS THESE GREAT OLD SHOWS BETTER THEN ,,.., S --CK'S TODAYS THESE SHOW';S THANK'S...
Florida acted like teen pregnancy was the end of Henrietta’s life. I was a teen mother and I made the best of it and everything worked out fine. 😊
You’re the exception not the rule. The statistics speak for themselves
What do your children have to say about it?....
Imagine how much finer they would’ve worked out if you’d waited just a few years. Did you marry the guy? If not, now your child has/had to get shuffled back and forth in between two different homes, if Dad’s even in the picture. Doesn’t sound too fine to me. Certainly not for your child.
God bless you and you keep encouraged doing your best is all the best!
@@finster1968 You really just assumed all of that.
Can someone tell me about the full episode?
It wasn’t JJs baby.
@@Miss.TJ516 do u know where I can find the full episode?🙂
@@_stxrblazerr I was on here a few months ago I will have to find it 😇
@@Miss.TJ516 ok
@@Miss.TJ516 thx
What was it with Amos and his obsession with the color, tan?
Henrietta was so stupid she went to the clinic to find out if the baby she was carrying was hers.😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Tuff love...
James was kinda of hypocrite in this episode he wanted J.J. not take responsibility when they thought the child was J.J. Saying the girl was 100% responsible
TOBI !!!!!
Lmfao
J.J. always got on my nerves
Mine to.
Facts
Meleny. Vicente. Love you ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
It was not right when jj outshine everyone else. Its no wonder why the dad left the show.
The episode was dumb. The baby wasn't his, but he was worrying about getting a job.
Florida Evans over play her role
Bernadette stanis wow
Do you like good. Time
❤
😮😲
J j was not the father in the girl look very young why wasn't she on birth control pills.💌
So was She Pregnant By JJ???
No. Henrietta got pregnant by someone else before she met JJ.
i Thought JJ was Her Babydaddy.😂😂
I miss watching good times I stop watching after James got killed off the show it wasn’t the same
Why did Flo not believe JJ when he said he was not the father of Henrietta's baby?
Because he was overly concerned.
I always needed a dad like James but turned out I didn't when I turned 20 something I dumped him away. Now I have no dad but God is my heavenly father and Christ my Lord is my heavenly risen up brother in Christ my first one. Without a dad I have my family and I have no friends. But i have my peers and my staff members and my manager and my owner.
Best tv Dad ever!🫶🏽👑
😂😂😂😂😂😂
The writers of these sitcoms are THE true talent! Sure, the actors have to deliver the lines perfectly, but it's the writers that get the ball rolling into great comedy. People forget that. "That's cause weirdos have respect for each other."
I always loved this show
