What?! No cell phones??? Thanks! I put these on my TV and go for rides with my kids (late teens 1/2 Japanese living in CA). Relaxing. Feels like I’m back in Japan in the early ‘90s. :)

Watching these now, many of them look a bit rough, but I was always trying to record how it was to be in any given space, so I'm glad to read your comment, as I appear to have at least partly achieved that goal. Cell phones - yeah, it was around this time that I first used a car phone and thought it was pretty amazing to be talking on the phone while in motion. There were those big, heavy, very expensive cell phones typically referred to as bricks (now, not then), but they were few and far between and appeared to only be used by company presidents and shady characters.

まだバブルが弾ける直前位かな?この時代に戻りたいとは決して思わないけど、今よりは人々にある面で「心の余裕」がある事自体は羨ましく思う。しかしながら、喫煙者であったことの無い自分としては、周りじゅうタバコ臭いのが当時はキツかった。
