I have the GHS on one bass and the Fenders on another. They have very different sounds, but I like them both. Even as dark as the GHS are, you can hear every note. I have them on my old-school P, and I can use them with my punk rock band and everyone can still hear every note, even thought I'm getting that 60s sound and the guitars and drums are very loud I have the Fenders on an 80s Fernandes PJ. I like having those extra highs and lows with that bass. I'll probably replace them once they really break in, but I've had them for several months and they still have nice highs.
All these have great sound characteristics ... for me it's the E string length and how that silk " lands" on the post ... Fender flats for the win , nice tension also .
I confirm, new GHS sound huge in fundamental and volume. Unfortunately when broken in they sounded too dark and muddy for my bass and I don't like lighter gauges so I had to change brand. But yeah the notes are heavy, that's for sure
@@monz7951 Certainly the sound is dark. Didn't you like it so much? Ernie Ball's Group III or D'Addario Chrome might be a good choice if you like a slightly brighter sound with a more tension!
@@naototada I loved the tone, big and full but my bass sounds already dark and I missed a little high frequencies in a band mix. I've just installed EB group III and I like them a lot, thanks for your comparison videos!
The Labellas have a beautiful full range punchy sound. The Fenders do too, but was suprised that they seemed to have (slightly) less highs and more mids. And I think the Fenders won on the slap tone. Seem more versatile to me and I prefer the feel over labellas so fender wins for me. However, labellas are pretty hard to beat on a p bass, definitely one of my favourite flats, but I really liked the Fenders and suprised how well they stack up to the labellas. The GHS precision flats were suprisingly dull. In some videos they sound really fat and meaty , but in comparison to the labellas they were really dull. The had all the bottom of the labellas but the labellas also had just enough high end too.
im trying hard to convince myself to get some light gauge la Bellas...but those 9050s, even with the .100 E string seem to have a rich low end resonance that's unique...is there a big difference in low end between the 9050s and la Bellas??
Labella has a characteristic in the mid-low range, and I felt that the 9050 has a characteristic in the low end and high end. If you're looking for low end, a 9050 gauge will suffice.
@@lisaredsatl2571 9050 and Daddario chromes are quite bright when freshly applied, so I think they are suitable for slaps. Labella has a very old school slap sound.
I tried LaBellas but the E was just too dead. Fenders better for overall string to string consistency but limited life and when they went it was off a cliff. No gradual degradation. Not tried GHS. My go to strings are EB Cobalts - both round and flat are great and last such a long time 😎
Great video man. I have fender 9050l on my pbass at the moment, been looking to change to La Bella. Is there much difference in tension between the two?
@@naototada Interesting! I would've thought the La Bella would've be the highest tension. I've been playing the Fender flats (45-100) and find them pretty easy to play. I want to try La Bella's now, just deciding which set - FL, FS, or even the low tension set!
I’m pretty sure fender have changed the formula. They used to be very stiff. The new set I have is so easy to play and flexible and doesn’t pull on the neck. Are the GHS strings higher tension than the labella set?
I have Fender on my P bass, but in this video i liked the GHS better than the Fender.
Very good video, thank you for sharing with us.
I am the one who should thank you! Check this out too

GHS are so smooth, warm and growly, beautiful midrange character.
Thanks!I think so, too
All 3 sound good. Fender IMO are the most clear sounding and pleasing, not to mention they are probably the least expensive.
I love my Fender flats, they just feel and sound better every month! And they're insanely cheap for flats
Nowadays they‘re not sooo cheap anymore. Got them for nearly half the price some years ago.. 17€!

Deep Talkinも104-43ですが個人的には強く弾くと暴れます、もしかしたらヘビーゲージくらいでもちょうどいいのかも、です!
They all sound great!
Thanks!
Sweet demo. Can u recall if the la bellas are the FS or FL set?
Thanks!! La bella 760FL

Mr: Naoto the riff in this video is in a song or a simple paratice patter thanks
This video helped save me some money. My conclusion: La Bella not worth the extra dough over Fender flats
I'm glad to help you!
LaBella...they just "feel" better to me.
What do you think about the DR strings flatwounds? I have them on my bass, but a comparison would be cool.
I've never tried DR so I'd like to try it.
Very nice, thank you! How is the tension of these sets? And how old were they at the time of the video? Thanks!
Thank you. GHS is the hardest and La Bella is just right. La Bella 5 years, Fender&GHS 1 year.

What gauges were the sets?
Hi.
Labella 043、.060、.082、.104
Fender .045、.060、.080、.100
GHS. 045、060、075、095

I think the tension is different. Labella is softer.
