I recently discovered the Tarantula game and liked it a lot, but I have some lingering questions. When I get Tarantula 2, will I need any additional external resources or tools? (Also, I want to add one more thing: do you think it would be more sensible to get the Spider Pen X? and Also, I have no experience with thread magic at all.) What do you recommend?
Tarantula 2 and Spider Pen do different things. I prefer Spider pen because it suits my performance style. I find Spider Pen easier to use. Think really hard about what kind of magic you want to perform. With Tarantula 2 you have more freedom but with Spider Pen you cannot move too far. My favourite device, more than Tarantula 2 and Spider Pen is Venom by Magie Factory. This is an AMAZING product with lots of possibilities.

They all have their limitations. Personally I find venom to be the most fun with the most possibilities. SpiderPen is great but can only do one style of levitation. If you want to walk far away from what’s levitating, this is best. Tarantula is the weakest and least fun for me. You hold Tarantula whereas SpiderPen and Venom you’re hands-free. As your first ITR I’d probably suggest Venom as there is SO MUCH you can do with it and it can be used with pretty much any clothing.
I miss having it, NYCPD stole my entire rig. How bout that T2 holder by tcc? That was always its flaw was the get ready/holdout. Getting out of my inside lower jacket pocket was a sticky situation at times. Smilesotheylikeyou
I've owned tarantula II for a few years now, and recently I accidentally put it in my laundry machine and it broke :(. I really like levitation tricks, so Im consdering repurchashing it. But, I've seen your review on the spider pen x and it looked amazing as well. I know how both tarantula & spider pens work, but I still can't decide which one is better (Tarantula II or Spider Pen X). I'm not a magician, just a hobbyist college student, maybe I could be a magician someday, who knows?
I like the hover ring/ lifesaver from Tarantula II and how we can pull money from one hand to another and the floating leaf and levitating money from ground from Spider Pen X. Which one should I get as a hobbyist? I like the fact that spider pen x is almost hands-free, but it requires hook up. On the other hand, Tarantula II can be hands-free as well but putting it in my tight pants pocket felt unnatural. Should I buy replace my broken Tarantula II or go with spider pen x?
@luis5845 I don’t know if they are exactly the same but I believe they both use Mesika’s trademarked “soul” technology. They have a very similar strength.
Well I hope people don't as for the BAT system haha! I would request Antigravity by James Paul, there are so many questions I have that the trailer doesn't give.

@shakool7649 yes. Tarantula 2, Spider Pen and Venom all have unique effects that cannot or are difficult to perform with the other devices. Venom has the most potential and the best hook up in my opinion but Spider Pen is probably the most fun to use. Spider Pen is the most difficult though because an anchor point is required.

@luis5845 I’m glad you’re enjoying my reviews and finding them helpful. I’ve never shipped anything to Guatemala 🇬🇹 so I can’t say how long it will take. It can take 2-4 days just for Vanishing Inc to ship an order though. It’s quite slow compared to other places.
Not all shops sell Spider Pen X. If you visit yigalmesika.com it tells you all the stores that stock Mesika products. Unfortunately I don’t know which one will be fastest and cheapest to Guatemala though. Sorry I can’t be more helpful.
Could you do a review on Photoshop 2.0 by Will Tsai? I think it's a very interesting trick, especially when people are boring with a deck of card,IT,......
How quickly does the IT retract? I’ve always wanted to do something where I place a dollar bill in someone’s hand and it flies into mine. Is there enough pull with tarantula II?
It retracts just as fast as any good IT reel. It should be one of the best devices to make a bill float from a spectators hand directly to yours. You might have to position your hand a little bit higher than your spectator but with a little bit of trial an error it should work well.
I have been wanting to buy tarantula 2 but im just worried that if I perform it on a a bright place or during the day close up, people might see the IT. Is that right? Can you really do this on a close up like the trailer? Or it’s just misleading?
If you bought it from eBay, Amazon or somewhere like this then it’s definitely fake. Only buy magic tricks from actual magic shops. If a magic trick is really cheap, it is probably fake.

For a hobbyist I would say Tarantula is the most useful and fun to use.

I liked the first version of Tarantula. Tarantula 2 you don‘t have a switch that causes the Thread to be on tension all the time
Tarantula 2 does this as well but the mechanism is different than the original Tarantula.
Does anyone know if it is possible to lift a ring from the ground to my hand with Tarantula 2?
Short answer is no. It might lift a very thin, light ring but the majority of rings will be too heavy.

Can you make sponge balls fly whit Tarantula 2?
Yes, that’s possible with smaller sponge balls. I would say maximum 1-2” balls. Larger balls will be too heavy.

There’s always a risk of seeing IT, unfortunately. It is definitely possible to perform with it close up like in the trailer though.
