As someone who had cancer twice, I was fortunate that I was able to discuss my diagnosis with friends, friends, and colleagues. My children were 12 and 15 so they were fully involved and were given details to assist them. They went with me to some of my appointments and helped with my care. Catherine's and William's children are younger. They had stated that they needed privacy for the sake of their children and it was important to keep details quiet until a time that the children would have a break from school to deal with this away from the public.
