Omg …you just said what I’ve felt over the years. I’m uk 🇬🇧 based and any interview I attend where the interviewers are Indians, I notice exactly what you said above. They are quite harsh and concentrate at catching you out such that you make a mistake😅😅
There may be times when the Scrum Master is teaching, mentoring, or coaching someone on an individual basis, but I wouldn't consider this a 1-on-1 meeting. During regular work, the Scrum Master may have to work together with an individual to help remove impediments, but this also isn't something I'd consider a 1-on-1 meeting. When starting to work with a new team, it could be helpful to have some time to get to know everyone on the team, individually. In the time of working in the office, this could be getting coffee or having lunch with someone. In the world of remote work, this would more likely be a short video call. The purpose would be to get to know everyone's background, their views on the current state, what they see as problems and impediments as well as opportunities for improvement and find the best ways to communicate and work with everyone. But I wouldn't have these regularly - one or two sessions per person when joining a new team or when someone new joins the team.
Agree with your viewpoint, but you completely missed the main point. It's not about fresher versus experience; it's about fake versus genuine. People with 20+ years of experience, showcasing themselves as Scrum Masters for the past 8 years and possessing hundreds of certifications but unable to explain basic concepts about agile/scrum - would you hire such a person? Remember, one bad hire can not only spoil your team but also harm the entire organization. So, if you are new or have no experience, mention it in your resume as well. When you're just starting your engineering career and applying for a job, would you mention having 5 years of work experience, or would you simply state "fresher" on your resume? Additionally, this is just one example; I have numerous examples like this. By the way, watching our channel alone has helped thousands of people secure jobs as Scrum Masters, so consider the holistic picture.
The Scrum Guide focuses on the core framework and roles of Scrum, and it might not explicitly mention all possible practices or details. While the guide might not specifically mention a "1o1 meeting" for the Scrum Master, it's possible that teams or organizations have adopted this practice to enhance communication and collaboration. Remember, Scrum encourages teams to adapt and experiment within the framework to meet their unique needs
If you’re adding changes to Scrum and saying 1 on 1 meetings in your team framework, then how does it signify the candidate who has good experience as inexperienced with this question?
BTW.. there is no one on one required. I always suggest Scrum to work as a team. Agile proposes transparency. One on one with a developer and Scrum master is required for what?
Thanks for inputs,as Scrum Master, the key attributes are being inquisitive, open to continuous learning, and constantly seeking ways to support and empower the team. So Its not you or Me who decides if one on one is required or not,it's depends on team maturity, already exists best practices. 😀Below are few benefits among many for 1o1 sessions ,like it help to improve communication, trust, reduce conflict, early risks dictation, confidence, motivation, hearing individual concerns and timely resolution. Hope it help.
hundreds of candidates are getting into job with no prior scrum master experience by watching your videos and again you are trying to help how to find them 😀 That's the irony 🙏
corporate companies have evil intention they do not care for any person it's a illuminati controlled world so no point in being loyal and truthful to them.... human data was collected now ai is doing the job hence they do not need human population on the world
Hello sir is there any practical bootcamp provided by you for practical experience for scrum master,I have CSM certificate but I need help in role transition from developer to scrum master
Brings up how to catch inexperience and says don’t bring it up unless you know what you’re talking about….. then proceeds to not give any valuable info…..
When no one will hire how can one have experience. And everyone learns from books .there is no university for scrum everyone learns from books internet trainings .
I guess those two words mean something specific according to.... someone. Without knowing what he is after i would have just said a meeting is two people together, what they do is not specified. A discussion is two people communicating. You dont need to communicate during a meeting just attend it. Discussions can happen during meetings. Discussions don't necessarily need to be happen during a meeting, as discussions can be done asynchronously, some would say meetings can happen asynchronously perhaps but i would say a meeting happens in real time, synchronously. I mean he wants something else it seems but this is what i would have said. I also dont think the answer to this is an indication of experience, i dont see why this knowledge cant be had from a book.
Everyone wants you to have experience but no one want to hire. Experience starts somewhere. Give people a chance!
So true
We need to learn everything in the womb as per todays recruiter
Scrum guide doesn’t dictate if you need to do 1:1 with each team member!
Exactly
Yess , exactly
Exactly..thanks for pointing
My team size is 50 😂
I think india has a very strict way of interviewing. They look for your failure that your success. That's a sign of a developing country
Very well said.

Give people chance if they are passionate 😊
And that's why we have this channel
I don't think so 😂

Everyone initially learns from the book.

It's an ideology. Let someone be inexperienced. Who cares as long as he/she" Smart scrums' rather being an experienced wolf!
Agree 👍
Agreed! It's unfair to shoot down someone's opportunity if they're in a learning curve.
There's no cadence of 1:1 conversation with team member in scrum Agile workbook. Now thats a topocs for PM

Difference between “conversation” & “meeting” ? Is this even a valid interview question ?
Most meetings have an agenda, time box, goals, action items, etc. Conversations can be anything.
BTW.. there is no one on one required. I always suggest Scrum to work as a team. Agile proposes transparency. One on one with a developer and Scrum master is required for what?

Pulling a team meeting everything is why devs hate scrum masters.

This is all hot-air. To answer effectively to those kind of question is very simple- JUST BE HONEST. Do not be afraid to give a subjective answer.
Thanks for your inputs
Meeting has a agenda and timebound, but in conversion don't have these
Agenda. Meeting has a set agenda
