Amazing video, going where no man has gone before. This looks so good. Running a couple thousand $$ worth of locomotives in the elements. I curious how you handle things after a run? ...Bud Light?
NICE VIDEO! I would've thought you'd have problems with shorting out with the snow on the rails. I've seen people run O scale outdoors, but only in nice sunny weather. Great job! Definitely needed that 10lbs. of lead on that plow otherwise derailment would have been inevitable.
I have seen a train with a snow plow along top of a fence but the snow looked lite and fluffy - your snow looks wet and heavy. Very impressive and way cool. From Arlin in Michigan.
That would be correct. They'd also be _verrrry_ leery of having a train behind the plow consist. Plowing drifts can cause you to stop a lot quicker than the freight cars behind will let you stop without derailing.
How do you keep the fastrack from rusting? I forgot a piece on my deck railing after a sales ad photo shoot. It rained that night and the track was pretty much junk. Great video though!!!! Finally something different than a " review" or " unboxing".😀
@@ricko3242 welcome to the madness so I've got a lot of videos on this topic, but I'm gonna film another one today and edit it up for you guys to explain everything I use no ox
Having 3 rails creates a track for the snow to follow. I wonder if small blocks set between the rails would force the show out of the "grooves" between the rails and push it to the side? Either way, AWESOME VIDEO! 👍😎
are these powered via the track or battery.... i run my o scale lionel outside with atlas track but have never seen it in the snow.... hows it hold up any tips ?
Is that Fastrak you are running outside? Years ago I began building temporary outdoor tracks starting with 6’ long 1”x4” pine boards with extra long straights. The curves were K-Line 027 profile 72” curves on plywood. I took apart the 72” curves and I’m replacing them with Menards 096 O gauge curves. I’ll find my videos from 2013.
Two questions, one do you think if you did this over again you’d use Atlas or Gargaves track? I only ask because Atlas O reminds me an awful lot of the way G Gauge track looks for outdoor running. Secondly have you ever thought about converting a locomotive to dead rail?
@@12361870 I would never go dead rail I like to be able to use the Cab3 base three I don’t have any issues with that and yes I would if I had the money I would go back with Atlas or guard Graves, but I have no issues with fast track
@@douglasblack225 noted I wound up doing that in the next video I did and I've got a small video. I'm gonna upload today. This was the very first time I've even done this so they will definitely be a lot of modifications done for the next snow.
This is going to sounds dumb, but if you want the snow not to build up on the plow. Spray some Pam cooking spray onto the plod blade snow will come right off. I use it on my old shovel.

Awesome! What about spraying some PAM cooking spray on the plow. I. did that on the snowblower to keep the snow from sticking.
Yes, sir
Nice! Don't the real rail roads run these plows at a high speed to pretty much blow the snow out of the way, so it does not get stuck to the plow.
